We had the most magical 5 nights at this lovely hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming. The grounds, pool area, and common areas were all immaculate and beautifully designed. Our room was extremely comfortable, freshly decorated, and well thought out. We loved having our own sea view terrace with views of Stromboli in the distance. We rented a car for your time there, but it was not necessary. Island tours are readily available, rides can be arranged into the outlining villages. The restaurants in Malfa are a short, magical walk away. The staff are incredibly helpful with arranging all the details of your stay. We can't wait to return!

If you’re planning a trip to the beautiful island of Salina, book a stay at Principe di Salina. My friends and I take an annual wine trip, and this year Italy called our name. Out of everywhere we visited, Principe di Salina was, hands down, the absolute highlight of our girls’ getaway. From the moment we walked in, Anita (the incredible owner), Donna, and Mikayla made us feel like family. Their warmth and hospitality set a new gold standard for service. No request was too big or small—they effortlessly booked our wine tastings, arranged smooth transportation, and everything in between. We felt completely cared for and pampered during our entire stay. And let’s talk about the suite—omg. If you’re debating, stop right now and book the suite. The views are simply breathtaking; waking up each morning felt like a dream come true. We loved Principe di Salina so much that we extended our stay an extra night—absolutely no regrets. If you’re looking for the perfect blend of luxury, hospitality, and authentic Italian charm, THIS is it. 10/10 recommend. Five stars, hands down.

Principe di Salina was the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home thanks to Anita, the incredible owner. She is onsite, warm, and genuinely cares for every guest. Her presence sets the tone for the whole property – welcoming, calm, and full of heart.|The hotel itself is stunning: beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and with breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding islands. The atmosphere is intimate and peaceful, yet never pretentious. It attracts kind, thoughtful guests, which only added to the sense of community and ease.|Food was another highlight – fresh, flavorful, and presented with such care. Meals on the terrace were unforgettable, with views that made every breakfast and dinner feel special.|What stood out most, though, was how natural and unforced the hospitality felt. Nothing was too much trouble, yet everything was relaxed. By the end of our stay, we felt less like hotel guests and more like part of Anita’s extended family.|If you’re looking for a place that combines beauty, comfort, and true Sicilian warmth, look no further. Based on the good reviews, we knew we were in for a wonderful stay but this place surpassed all our expectations. It is adults only so very peaceful and relaxing. It is small and truly stylishly designed. It has the perfect blend of a luxurious and welcoming vibe. It is a place were you can truly unwind, soak up the beautiful views and enjoy first class hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly and everything runs smoothly. My husband and I chose Principe for our stay on Salina during our honeymoon. We were blown away and can confidently say this is our favorite hotel we have ever stayed at. Right when you walk in you will be mesmerized by the stunning view, but this is just the beginning. The food, service, rooms, everything is fantastic. The rooms are well appointed in a rustic luxury style, and the terraces are phenomenal, with the perfect hammock to take naps in. We highly recommend staying for dinners (we ate most of ours here and have zero regrets). One of the highlights is the pool area. We easily got a cabana bed everyday, and the bar staff is great. The staff also provided countless recommendations and went above and beyond helping us coordinate our itinerary. Definitely reach out to them for recommendations for boat tours, wineries, or anything else you want to do on the island. Overall, we had such a lovely stay and this resort is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic and memorable getaway. Thank you Principe staff!!

This is a wonderful resort! Every detail was excellent. The pickup at the ferry, the reception, the room, the views, the staff, the owner, the pool, the chef. Everything is top shelf. The stay at this boutique hotel was the highlight of our Sicilian trip. Very relaxing! A must experience of you are visiting Salina!

Principe Di Salina: An Exercise in Subtraction Salina, that volcanic upstart in the Aeolian archipelago, has a secret. Not the kind you’d find in a White Lotus thriller—no bodies, no conspiracies—but the more dangerous kind: a place that makes you question why you live the way you do. Principe Di Salina practices a particular form of seduction—the kind that works by removal rather than addition. It strips away everything you thought you needed, all the noise and clutter and desperate signaling, until what remains is irreducible: light, stone, sea, silence. The architecture understands what the volcano has always known: that power lies in what you don’t say. The hotel sits there like a dare. “This is enough”, it suggests. “This has always been enough.” The rooms are generous in that specifically Italian way—space as a form of respect, views as a human right. Through the windows: the island’s improbable greenery (volcanic soil being, apparently, an excellent negotiator), and beyond that, the sea doing what seas do, which is shimmer and promise and occasionally deliver. But here’s what really matters: Anita. The owner who understands that hospitality is not a transaction but a form of intelligence. She and her staff possess that rare quality of attention that makes you feel seen without being surveilled. They know the island the way you know your own body—intuitively, without thinking. A boat tour here, a restaurant recommendation there, each suggestion landing with the precision of someone who actually cares whether you have a good time. The restaurant—helmed by Anita’s co-owner, a maestro who takes food seriously but not solemnly—offers what you might politely call exquisite cuisine if you were writing for a travel magazine, or devastatingly good if you were being honest over wine. There’s a family table where strangers become co-conspirators in the evening’s pleasures. Democracy, but delicious. The pool is infinite, or claims to be. The gardens understand composition. The atmosphere suggests that perhaps you could be a different person here—a funnier one, a freer one, slightly naughty in harmless ways. Leave your ego at the door, they should tell you, though they’re too elegant to say it. You won’t need it here. The volcano won’t be impressed, and neither will the sea. What you’ll need instead is the ability to receive what’s being offered: the radical gift of enough.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

It’s hard to find the words to describe how incredible this trip was. From being met from the ferry by our driver and our incredible arrival at the hotel (by the owners)… and the view!!||The hospitality was exceptional; the incredible attention to detail, the delicious home-made traditional food (which was probably the best catered for as gluten-free anywhere I’ve stayed) the kindness, recommendations and guidance when exploring and booking restaurants, trips and tickets. The team led by Anita were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble.. ever and even the cloudy days were super relaxing and fun.||The hotel itself is homely, boutique-y yet super laid-back. The rooms are beautiful, yet simple and the hammock on the balcony was a lovely touch. In some ways it felt like staying in someone’s beautiful home - create creative, thoughtful and effortless. ||The location is so peaceful and the island is quiet and natural. We took a lovely walk up to the church and viewpoint, down to Malfa, ate at a couple of incredible restaurants nearby and took a ferry to Lipari.||Anita has created this blissful home from home with connection, relaxation and beauty in mind. The people that come to the hotel - all seem to ‘get it’. The main event here is the food (and the beautiful pool) - dining is beautifully designed around a communal table with space to dine with your partner/friends or to make new ones. For me this is the ethos of Principe. We’ve stayed in lots of beautiful places and this one stands out for the most incredible hospitality, it’s personal touches and the fact that you feel like a part of the family.||A really special stay and one that we will definitely be repeating and then not too distant future!

Awesome hotel and staff on the beautiful island of Salina. We were welcomed immediately upon entering and were given a tour of the property. Only 12 rooms so guests get personalized attention. It has more of a Villa feel than a hotel. Like staying at someone's incredibly beautiful home. We arrived at lunch time and decided to have lunch at the hotel. Everything is homemade with fresh local ingredients even the beer is locally made. The pool is a nice size for swimming or just relaxing and looking at the mountains or sea. They also have a sulfer tub which nobody tried. It looked a bit scary. They have really cool covered lounge chairs with privacy netting. Exceptionally clean hotel. The owner takes a lot of pride in her hotel and it shows. She even designed every room. It has a Mediterranean look and feel. Very relaxing and comfortable. Rooms are a nice size with an outdoor balcony including a chair, table and hammock chair. They left us fresh flowers and chocolates as a welcome gift. Only downside is the town is down a hill and I think I made a wrong turn and it took us much longer to find the restaurant. If you walk there are stray dogs but they seem harmless, and we also bumped into a rat on a fence so just keep that in mind if wildlife bothers you. One other thing if you don't have a car transportation is expensive. Definitely a great place to spend a few days or a week just to relax in a peaceful, beautiful setting with a warm helpful staff.

Best place to stay on Salina. Peaceful and tranquil. The rooms are very simple but the location and setting are unbeatable. Upon booking we were offered a free boat trip around the island which was the highlight of our trip. This place is paradise.
