Beautiful gem in the heart of Groningen centre, in the back of Martini tower. The park around it creates a calm surrounding. You won't feel that you are in the middle of the city. Perfect location to discover the city. Staff are the sweetest. Very kind, friendly, respectful and helpful. This was worthwhile in our struggles with the ventilation of the room. Bad ventilation for hot summer days. No air-conditioning due to monumental status. Due to a construction mistake made on our day of arrival, only one window could open. Staff really tried to help the situation, for example by providing big (but noisy) fans. But sadly this ventilation issue marked our stay negatively. We truly hope this issue can be fixed quickly. Regardless the negative ventilation experience. Extremely impressed by the staff AND managers. Really understanding, helpful and considerate - day and night. I would give them 7 stars from a 5 stars rating!

My husband and I traveled from the US to the Netherlands and spent a few days in Amsterdam before heading north to Groningen. We were there to attend the Netherlands vs Malta soccer match. We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Prinsenhof. The staff was so welcoming and the atmosphere is gorgeous. The gardens outside the hotel are so well kept and beautiful to walk around and enjoy. The breakfast at the hotel had the most delicious pastries. If you ever get the chance to stay at this hotel please do. It was a one of a kind destination.

The Prinsenhof was such a wonderful place to stay in Gronigen. So quiet and tranquil, even though you are in the middle of a city!|The suite was very spacious and comfortable, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. |The food served in both restaurants was to a high standard and Nassau’s culinary experience was simply amazing. |The courtyard was perfect for an afternoon pastry… or glass of wine!|We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be returning.

The hotel is absolutely fantastic and staff are lovely and make you feel part of the family.||This is the 12th year that we have returned for our annual Europe trip and the Prinsenhof just never lets us down from Valet parking in a secure underground carpark, lovely rooms and drinks in the courtyard with sun on our faces is just the dream.||Groningen itself is just a lovely, clean, historic and cultural city with loads of lovely restaurants and cafe bars. ||Train station is currently being refurbished but transport busses to the EuroPark (smaller station on outskirts) are regular, clean and convenient. You can also walk if you feel energetic (takes around 20 mins from the main station.

This delightful hotel is a small with less than 40 in a complex of old buildings. Our room on the top floor was spacious and very enjoyable for us who really like old buildings. We loved everything about it and the exceptionally large bathroom. The bathtub was the longest and in the most beautiful and spacious settings that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we never use bathtubs. The shower was also nice but not as special. Our window view was over an exceptionally beautiful garden in the old traditional French stile. Unfortunately, we visited it a month early, before all things start blooming. The bed was large and soft, which I prefer. The staff is helpful and nice in all ways. The breakfast is also God, but not special. In all it is a perfect hotel fore those who love beautiful old houses.

This hotel offers a wonderful experience all around. the location, the wonderful staff who are very helpful and always have a smile on, the design and atmosphere and the wonderful choice of restaurants and bars and the terraces to enjoy are just fantastic. For the Easter weekend we stayed two nights and I wished it would have been longer, so we will definitely come back again.

Flawless Experience from Start to Finish||Our stay at Prinsenhof was exceptional. The level of service, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere were absolutely flawless. The staff was warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive.||I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for a luxurious getaway.

I stayed here for three nights on a midweek package booked directly with the hotel. That deal included one dinner and breakfast each day. Such was the quality of the hotel and staff I will admit to checking my rate . It was incredible value.|The hotel is to a very high standard and my room (an upgrade) large and full of light. Everything, down to the included mini bar and the toiletries was of a very good standard. Even if I had not been on a promotional rate I doubt if I would have been disappointed. If there was any issue with my room it might be the design. I’m no fan of bathrooms next to the entry to the room but it was a small point. There was a fancy Nespresso machine in the room which took me a while to figure out how it switched on. I’m not sure that simplicity might not have benefits in choosing machines for in the room.|Breakfast is good and the staff lovely. Again good quality abounds and don’t miss the home made smoothies. Only one thing might be worthy of thought. As everywhere a coffee machine provides the beverages. This one at least worked well and produced good coffee but at busy times at breakfast the queue for coffee can build up.|In the evening the restaurant was busy, the chefs menu was good, although the amount of food might have made some unhappy. Note that the chefs menu only changes every couple of months so you’re probably not going to eat here on more than one night. Wines and spirits are well priced as well. The serving staff, mainly young men, are certainly energetic in their endeavors hastily going about their work. Is it TV Reality shows that have convinced us that kitchens and serving crews ‘perform’ in an intense competitive way providing us with some room theatre? Personally I miss the calm of wait staff of the past, but that may be showing my age.|The hotel does things that many no longer do. Real newspapers in the breakfast room, a full hotel guide/information book and wonderful robes.|If you are visiting the city as a tourist while the hotel is not close to the station it is in the prettiest part. Many of your best photos of your trip are going to be taken in the area around the hotel. It is a charming area.|I’ve visited many hotels in the Netherlands over the past few years. This one isn’t just #1, it’s in a different league. As for cost if you think that your budget isn’t going to run to this property at least check. You might be pleasantly surprised.
