Hotel Proverbs Taipei (Taipei, Taiwan) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel Proverbs cuts a stark, modern figure; a fashionable, black, Ray Chen-designed tower, clad in steel mesh, standing over Taipei’s see-and-be-seen East District. Chic copper-plated façades and dark wooden panelling set an indulgent tone, one that’s abetted by Proverbs’ butler service, gracefully handling anything from shoeshines, floral arrangements, travel logistics, currency exchange, massage and more, leaving guests with more bandwidth to enjoy some high-end shopping or strolling the nearby night market. Proverbs’ TK Seafood & Steak carries this air of decadence into the realm of dining; prime US beef and Asian seafoods are exquisitely made into haute cuisine by a classically trained French chef, while the third floor’s East End bar offers the perfect vibe for a metropolitan nightcap." - Tablet Hotels

I am writing this review to highlight several unacceptable issues encountered during my stay. 1. Lack of Prior Notice About Roadworks The road construction directly in front of the hotel was not communicated in advance. The entrance was extremely difficult to locate, and upon arrival with two large suitcases, I did not receive any assistance from the staff. 2. Unacceptable Room Cleanliness The room was noticeably dirty, with clear signs of insufficient housekeeping. Stains and hair were present throughout the space. As shown in the attached photo, the level of cleanliness was far below acceptable standards. 3. Incentivized Positive Reviews The hotel offered gifts in exchange for positive reviews, which raises concerns about the credibility of many high ratings. This practice is inappropriate and misleading for future guests. 4. Lowest Value Among Similar-Priced Hotels During my trip to Taipei, I stayed at three hotels within a similar price range. This property was by far the weakest in overall quality and presented the poorest value for money. I recommend exercising caution when considering this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel. First impressions is so important that I am totally glad to say this hotel is an awesome place. Checking I they knew ahead of time my birthday would be the following day, I was surprised to find a banner in my room that said Happy Birthday over the headboard + Sparkling Wine. The room was beautifully done and had many first class amenities. To me this is a 5 star hotel beautiful marble bathroom with tub, auto toilet bidet, comfortable mattress and entertainment center. Just a wonder place with very nice staff. Highly recommended!

Our recent stay at Proverbs Hotel Taipei was delightful from start to finish. The moment we arrived, the hotel’s doorman greeted us with a genuine smile and immediately stepped out into the rain to help with our luggage — a small gesture that made a big difference after traveling in wet weather. His attentiveness and warm welcome set the tone for the rest of our stay.|The hotel’s design blends modern luxury with comfort, and the room was stylish, clean, and thoughtfully equipped. Every staff member we met, from reception to housekeeping, was friendly and efficient. The location is also excellent — close to plenty of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques yet quiet enough for a good night’s rest.|It’s rare to find a hotel that combines such comfort with truly caring service.

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone I know traveling to Taipei. It's in a really fun location--great shops, restaurants and quick bites nearby. It's a 5 minute walk to the Blue MRT line, and the hotel itself is nice. We spent 2 days here and it's a great hotel to stay at if your priority is getting out and seeing the city. It's nice to come back to a large room with a comfortable bed and lovely staff. Next time we are in Taiwan, we'll make it a point to stay at this unique little hotel.

Google
we had an outstanding stay here! I told them it was my husbands birthday and the decorated the room it was so sweet, we also had dinner at l’idiot and it was delicious. I love the overall vibe of the hotel, everything was branded awesome. they even did a turn down service and restocked our snacks, would recommend!

Google
Stayed here for 11 days, and had a great stay. It’s a Marriott Design Hotel so the vibe is definitely more on the boutique-y side, and the amenities are a little Limited (great bar and pool but no gym). The hotel team couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. I felt constantly taken care of, and they helped so much with recommendations, reservations, etc which made the whole stay feel easier and more special. And the location cannot be beat! You’re right in the heart of some of the best bars and restaurants in the city, and a less than 5 minutes walk from a major metro station.

Hotel Proverbs provided my family a great introduction to Taipei! The hotel itself is located in an ideal neighborhood, full of interesting shops and restaurants and with easy access to many modes of public transportation. From the moment you walk into the hotel, you can observe fashionable and luxurious lobby, guest room, and dining areas, full of high quality furniture. The hotel staff were super friendly, and you could really tell that they worked hard to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. The front desk staff explained the amenities very clearly and patiently (in both English and Chinese). We did arrive before check in time, but while we were exploring the city, the staff took our bags to our room as soon as the room was ready, so it was a nice surprise not to have to lug our luggage up to our room once we checked in. Our guest room (as well as the rooftop pool) had an amazing view of the city from the oversized balcony, and we enjoyed the comfortable beds and high end bedclothes. The food in the main restaurant l’Idiot and the third-floor lounge East End was surprisingly delicious. We had the best congee we ever had for breakfast, and the mocktails at the bar were tasty and refreshing. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better hotel stay in Taipei, and if we ever visit the city again one day, we will be sure to stay here again.

Google
Absolutely loved this hotel! We stayed a week, the rooms are beautifully designed with great quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. Feels like a high end and luxury hotel for it’s price. It’s a great perk that there is a pool on the roof. Our favourite part is the location! Da’an is full of great restaurants, bars and mid to high level boutiques and local brands. Plenty going on on the streets, but the rooms are quiet with black out blinds so we slept very well.

Yelp
Spent two nights here at the end of a 10 day tour of Taiwan. It's a nice boutique hotel which has a nice pool on the roof. I wasn't a huge fan of our room not having a door to the bathroom, just a curtain. And the toilet would open anytime you were in the bathroom which was kind of loud when getting ready for bed. The bed was comfortable though. We had spent 5 nights at the Hanns House which was cheaper and had better breakfast and a larger room. Still, we had a good time, if you are a Marriot person then it's a nice place to get some points.

Yelp
Spent 4 nights at Proverbs with my 3 sisters. Amazing place. Great attentive service. Wonderful staff. Fantastic location. Boutique hotel in a bustling fun neighborhood. Convenient to everything by walking and public transit. Small lobby and bar are on third floor. Bar opens at 5 so not a place to hang out during the day. Note that bathroom door is a curtain... staying here made our visit to Taipei extra enjoyable!! Definitely recommend. Side street has three vegetarian buffet restaurants and tons of meat-lovers eateries on the whole street along with locally made clothing boutiques. Very cute. Great shopping.

Yelp
Excellent new boutique hotel located in the bustling Daan east side 東區 near SOGO department stores and Zhongxiao Fuxing 忠孝復興 station (brown and blue metro lines). Lots of dining and shopping around. Friendly customer service and contemporary rooms with comfy beds and neat Toto electronic toilet. There's a rooftop pool with a view of Taipei 101 through the ugly black wire "decor" on the facade of the hotel. Unfortunately, the pool is not heated so it can be a bit cold and there's no shade on the rooftop so it can get hot quickly. It would be good if management can add some umbrellas for shade. We stayed in the Classic room as well as the Premium room, and they are both great. The Premium has a big balcony which is cool. The minibar is complimentary including beers that are replenish daily. They also offer baby toiletries and crib (depending on the room) if you are traveling with little ones. We also had breakfast included, but the selection of food is quite disappointing. They have some salad, bread, cold cuts, cheese, and cereal as the buffet part. The fruits they offer are unsliced apples and oranges. You can also order off the made to order menu which offers tasty omelette and French toast as well as a handful of other dishes like yogurt. However, it does get boring after a few days as the menu does not change. I wish the hotel would offer some Taiwanese style breakfast as well as more fresh fruits. Usually, Taiwan hotels of this class offer a variety of selection for breakfast so hopefully the Proverbs can improve. Overall, a solid choice for Taipei high end hotels. Just know it is a boutique hotel so it does not have a fancy lobby, but there's a small bar on the 3F. I would not pay for the daily breakfast if you can as Taiwan has so much good food and the limiting breakfast selection is boring. Proverbs is also part of SPG so you can get points or use points here.

Yelp
I was introduced to Hotel Proverbs by a friend, and the entire place has only been in operation for less than two months. The location is most excellent, nearing major metro station, shopping, and restaurants - you can go from high-end to hole-in-the-wall places within walking distance. The hotel room itself is comparable to Hyatt, using high quality materials everywhere you see and touch. The bathroom is especially nice, with modern handsfree toilet, high-end sink/faucet, roomy shower with waterfall showerhead, and a great separate tub. This place is in the middle of everything, yet at night, because of the excellent window insulation, you cannot hear any noise from the streets. Downstairs is the restaurant and breakfast is included. I had the salmon with poached eggs plus a frew other items, which is much better than your average asian or western style breakfast. Most of all, it's the hotel staff that greets you every step of the way, willing to assist you in all your needs, and makes the stay that much nicer. A special thanks to the hotel manager Carey W. She is most knowledgeable, friendly, and speaks several languages. All in all, the best hotel experience I've ever had in Taipei.
