Loved our stay. Central to all New Orleans activities. Away from noise on Bourbon Street. Bed/Pillows were excellent. Room was small. Staff excellent. Bar good. Coffee available in the morning in the bar. Would not recommend French Toast Restaurant behind the hotel. Much better breakfast options in New Orleans. Loved the atmosphere. Parking was a little expensive but person handling valet parking was great. Will definitely be back to this location on our next visit to New Orleans. If you want a quiet room, ask for building 5. Rooms closer to the front have a lot of street noise.

Location is directly across the street from the French Market which is awesome. The in house resturant is breakfast and lunch and is absolutely delicious, do not skip on a meal there. The resturant bar has beautifully made cocktails by a very knowledgeable bartender, James, who is more than happy to share some city history and stories. We arrived early and because our room was ready they allowed us to check in. Room was just as pictured, clean, and fresh. The gallery was beautiful, and extra large. It looked directly over the french market which made for great people watching, relaxation, and gave us an authentic New Orleans feel. I loved our stay and would definitely return.

Wonderful boutique like hotel in the French Quarter in a quiet area but close (walking distance) to Jackson Square and all the fun places you want see during your stay. Our room overlooked the street and was quite noisy (not a complaint!) due to the street parades and carriage rides which we loved to watch. Our daughter’s family’s room overlooked the pool and they did not hear the street noise. The room was crisp and clean without carpet, windows opened to the street, easy to use coffee maker, fridge. Room was cleaned daily and towels replenished, king bed and pillows were very comfortable and a thermostat available to adjust the AC/heat. There is a beautiful, quiet courtyard near the small lobby and a sparkling pool in a separate area. We received coupons for the hotel bar when we checked in and found the bar very relaxing and the bartender friendly and talkative. The desk folks were friendly and very helpful. Our flight arrived early and our room wasn’t yet ready. The staff held our luggage and called us when the room was done. Another time they helped us book a fabulous swamp tour which was much better than the tours we found around town. The staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay in the exact room we had again.

We just returned from a stay at the Provincial and we would highly recommend it! You can’t beat the location- We stayed in building 5 and had a view of the river and the French Market. All the main attractions of the French Quarter are easily walkable from this hotel. My favorite thing about the hotel was the incredibly friendly staff- especially Dana, who works the front desk at night. She had wonderful recommendations for what to see and do, and she was always a pleasure to speak with!!

Google
This hotel is amazing. The rooms are great. The courtyard and pool are excellent places to hang out and relax between running around the city. It's walking distance to Bourbon Street, the French Market and a million really good restaurants. The staff are top notch and everything is very well taken care of. It's also very quiet for a hotel so close to the busy areas of the city. We've stayed here twice and are already planning our next visit. Can't wait to stay here again!

Google
In my opinion, the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a no frills, comfortable spot to stay directly within the French Quarter. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful and accommodating of our last minute booking after our previous hotel stay disappointingly fell through. Bonus is the cozy bar on site and the attached breakfast spot The French Toast.

Google
Quiet and charming with very lovely historic buildings. The main hotel courtyard with the fountain is quiet, beautiful and peaceful. The room was comfortable and quiet with super great pillows and AC, and the location in the French Quarter is unbeatable.

Google
We had a perfect stay. The staff and accommodations were perfect in every way! It was very clean, quiet and the valet parking is on the grounds with a gate that locks at night. It is in a perfect locations to walk to everything. We will be back!

Yelp
From start to finish this was a 5/5 experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet who gave me info about where our car is parked, and the security of the area (one way in and out, cameras, gate) I believe it cost $39/day to park. Check in was easy, Chris at the reception desk was more than helpful with recommendations for our stay. We loved having a bar in the hotel, that has a happy hour! The bartender was really great and so kind. We got a king room and everything was beautiful, from the bed to the bathroom to even the window. Our room did have a ceiling fan which you never see places, but a HUGE bonus for us. Note: there is no elevator, but it is only a 2 story establishment. Lastly, we loved the courtyard. My daughter and I spent a lot of time there. She loved the fountain. We were only there one night so we didn't know there was a pool until we were leaving (on the other side of the courtyard), but it was very clean looking! Would 10000% stay here again.

Beau B.

Yelp
What a wonderful place! We reserved the large suite for my family of 4. Even better, we had a little pool all to ourselves! The accommodations were a little dated, but oh so comfortable. I hadn't slept that good in years. Maybe it was all the amazing food, but it's true. We were located right in the French Quarter and a within a 5 minute walk to just about everywhere! When we're in New Orleans again, this is where we're staying!

Yelp
Stayed here 3 nights and next time will be at least a week. It's located pretty much at the end of the French Quarter which is perfect. You are located within walking distance to anything in the French Quarter but also to Frenchman Street. We were in the 400 building and it was perfect. Fantastic valet/bellman and housekeeping. Actually all the staff from the front desk to the bar were great. It's only a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street but very quiet. We can't wait to return. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We were given a room in the back of the property that required us to walk up a flight of stairs. The balcony had to be accessed through a window. It was dark and creepy. My wife swore she heard noises that she felt were ghosts. Not a fan.
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
This is wonderful hidden gem within walking distance of all you want to do in the French Quarter. Over 200 years old and updated amenities make it a treasure. The staff was wonderful. Our battery died and they were so helpful to get us back on the road. It is a privately owned hotel which I love supporting. Check this place out.

Richard S.

Yelp
What a great stay. The location in the French Quarters is ideal if you want the FQ experience without all the noise. Bourbon Street is a short walk away for the parting types and Royal Street is very close for the galleries. The hotel has a very friendly and professional staff. Kelly and Chris were extremely helpful helping us with recommendations and directions. The hotel itself is clean and quiet. It has a beautiful courtyard with a soothing courtyard for small gatherings. The pool would be inviting in the warmer months, but just not in Mid-March when we visited. Our room was in the main building and was very comfortable. Our daughter and son-in-law stayed the tower where their wasn't as big as ours but still a good size. The French Toast restaurant is attached to the hotel and serves a very nice and reasonably priced breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Great location for an Affordable price. Clean hotel with lots of New Orleans charm. Staff was welcoming with local kid friendly dinner recommendations and coupon for BOGO drinks at the hotel bar. The pool was wonderfully refreshing. The only thing I didn't expect was the up charge for my truck for on oversized vehicle.

Alex D.

Yelp
My entire experience at the hotel was lovely. The hotel front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The two bellhops were kind enough to store my luggage before my room was prepared so I could explore the quarter in the meanwhile. I didn't get a chance to try to cocktails at the hotel bar, even locals told me they have a great happy hour menu there! Thank you to the staff again for the excellent hospitality! Would highly recommend the hotel!

Yelp
The hotel was clean and quiet. Pool was nice and the landscaping was pretty. The staff were amazing. The beds and bedding were comfortable We were able to have things delivered with no problem, including a disability scooter. I would recommend staying here.

Yelp
Really nice place. Absolute garbage customer service. We reserved two king rooms in an event block. When we arrived they gave us a king and a queen and took no responsibility for the mistake. On the first afternoon of our stay, I scanned my card to enter our locked room and there was a random stranger sitting in our room. It terrified both me and my wife. We found out quickly that he was a part of a wedding party (a bride was staying next door). It turns out housekeeping was working in there and he just wandered in and sat down thinking it was his sister's room or something...regardless of how he got in, we walked into our room at a hotel and a strange man was sitting in a chair a foot away from my wallet and at a desk covered in my wife's personal effects. That is NOT okay. Our trust and privacy were violated and that should be something to look out for if you stay here. On our last night, the young woman at the counter called us a cab. To be clear, the hotel told us at check in that they offered cab calling service. She told us it would be there in five minutes. I went outside two minutes later and never saw a cab. She claimed it "wasn't her problem" and only called for another at my insistence, which she did with a very juvenile reluctance. Before she found another, we hitched a ride with an Uber driving by. We still missed our reservation at Galatoire's, which was meant to be the highlight of our trip. I don't care what your reputation or popularity is, you owe customers at least some basic respect. And you need to be aware of the quality of service your employees are providing. It's unfortunate, because the hotel property itself was lovely.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here before Thanksgiving. Great location and friendly staff with great service from the entire team. Convenient location, clean and quiet rooms. This will be our go to hotel when visiting NOLA.
google avatar

Crystal A.

Yelp
Absolutely charmed & perfectly comfy... from the minute Dana checked us in until Tony checked us out, we had not one single complaint. Next time, however, I'll ask for a room not overlooking the street. Late night revelers made it hard to sleep a couple of nights, but that's hardly the fault of the hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location and quaint place. Very historic and possibly haunted. We enjoyed our stay. Nice bar/lobby, several pretty patios and the property is well maintained. The double queen room is a bit small but worked for a family of three. We're used to a sitting area but those were sold out. Everything is clean and I'd stay here again. Just in a larger room. We enjoyed the balcony over Decatur st in the am with coffee and evening.
google avatar

Naomi E.

Yelp
Every member of the staff has been a delight. My room was not super updated but it was clean and comfortable. I was most pleased as it is far enough away from the hustle, but also an easy walk to everything.

Yelp
What a cute boutique hotel in the heart of the action. The location was in walking distance to all of the main attractions ie. Bourbon Street, Cafe du Monde.. Jon at the front desk was very accommodating. We arrived several hours prior to checkin time we were able to leave our bags and enjoy breakfast. They even gave us a call to tell us we can checkin early. It was reasonably priced , clean , comfortable and historic.

Yelp
If you're heading to New Orleans, Hotel Provincial is the best place to stay in the French Quarter! You really get a lot of bang for your buck and feel like you're in the heart of the party. Hotel Provincial had historic charm but offered modern comforts. The rooms were spacious and decorated very cute. While we were a few blocks from Bourbon St, it was surprisingly tranquil. We enjoyed how easy it was to get to the various restaurants and historic sites we wanted to visit. Many reviews claim the rooms are noisy but this was definitely not our experience at Hotel Provincial. There are a few buildings that comprise the hotel complex including a taller building that's on top of a happening brunch spot. Hotel Provincial is definitely the perfect hotel for anyone looking to get the most out of their NOLA trip.

Yelp
We stayed in building 4. Room was okay. It was mainly clean except for one or two hairs we found in the bed. The soap and shampoo provided was okay. We had a king bed and it was comfy. The bathroom was a bit small but comfortable. The room because of no windows was very stuffy. We found out our hotel is supposedly haunted more specifically building 5 and part of the ghost tour. Hmm maybe they should announce this on their site so your aware. The courtyards by the pool is really beautiful but I did not get to fully enjoy it during our trip mainly because it rained alot. Hotel did offer a buy one get me free ticket for drinks so that was nice of them. The bell boys are really nice and helpful. The front desk people are mostly grouchy and not help ful. Seems like just want you to get your stay over with. We informed them that our room was stuffy and it we can get a Window but they said non of the rooms had windows. Also seems like during our whole stay nobody staying next door, very last night, we could clearly hear snoring all night long. Theres a locked door that connects rooms so I guess that's why.

Yelp
Do NOT stay here. I love historic properties, but this hotel has seen better days. I'm not sure if they pay people to write good reviews or what. Paper thin walls, old smelly rooms, hard beds, incompetent staff. Charged my card 4 times at check for totals of he whole stay. Over $3,000 in fraudulent charges that I am still fighting to get off of my card. If you skip past the good fake reviews read the bad and they all say the same things. Do yourself a favor and do not book here.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a short weekend (Thursday-Sunday). Arriving at night there was only one staff to assist but very very easy check in and friendly front desk gentleman who had many suggestions on what to do where to eat during our stay. Thank you to the really cool guy who helped us to our room with our luggage he was very personable and us being from the Bay Area appreciated him sharing he actually was from our hometown and we had lots in common. Throughout our stay he was always very helpful with recommendations and very polite! We had a king bed which was extremely comfy and hard to leave every morning lol. The bathroom was a nice size as well. We just wished there was more than two rolls of toilet paper but the front desk was accommodating in providing more of any essentials we needed more of. The blackout curtains were also amazing in helping sleep in after long nights out dancing and drinking lol Speaking of drinking the lobby has a bar and you get two for 1 drink special for staying here during their happy hour. French Toast is open daily until 3pm as well on the property which is a nice cafe to grab brunch from. The only cons we had were that our room faced the courtyard so we heard anyone who passed by and all of their conversations and any noise they made. The fridge does not get very cold at all. Other than that we had an amazing stay and everything we wanted to experience was within walking distance except for a few restaurants we wanted to try but even that was a 7 min Uber ride. By the way! Pretty cool fun fact we are featured in the ghost tours that come by so while waiting for our Uber we got to listen to some fun info about our hotel! Gotta do the ghost tour next time :) Thank you Hotel Provincial for an amazing stay :)

Yelp
We had such an incredible stay! The room was beautiful and had a great historic look to it while still being updated with furniture and appliances. We loved walking around and seeing all of the beautiful courtyards on the property. The pool is nice for a quick afternoon dip to escape the sun, but didn't have any furniture so we didn't stay very long since there wasn't a great poolside spot to sit. The big draw for this hotel, in addition to how nice the staff were, is the location. You're right in the heart of the French quarter and walking around was so easy to do and it also meant that when we wanted to pop back to the room to sit down for a minute or drop something off, it was very easy to get to! We didn't see any ghosts sadly but hope that next time we're back we'll see something!

Yelp
Love this hotel. Depending on what building you are in your room could look vastly different. Ive been here a couple of times and the 400 building has the best rooms, in my opinion. Staff is great! Also its not loud outside the hotel like other hotels that are closer to the heart of the french quarter.

Yelp
Its location is ideal for the New Orleans experience. It's extremely close to the shops and restaurants. The staff is very helpful and professional. I was greeted quickly and with a feeling of warmth. The bellman was quick to help and we had a great conversation. The grounds are spread out due to it being a historic hotel but it does have elevators. I chose a balcony room. Outside my window is a large balcony which is shared with a couple other rooms. There is a table and chairs outside each window. After a long day of touring I was able to lay on my bed with the balcony window open and listen to the jazz players. I loved this! Truly a New Orleans experience! I read many reviews saying this hotel isn't what it use to be. However, I found it very nice. The rooms are an average size, have bathtubs, refrigerator and a safe. I see very slight wear and tear in the rooms. The bed was ok but the pillows were very nice! I spent my first few nights at a different hotel that cost $70 more per night. Next time I will book here the whole stay. It's definitely a hotel that is priced correctly for what it offers.

Yelp
Excellent service in a comfortable old fashioned hotel. Very conveniently located and of good value

Yelp
We spent one night at Hotel Provincial during VooDoo Fest weekend. Many hotels were sold out and prices were high for the fest and Halloween weekend. We were happy to find a last minute opening at Hotel Provincial for far less than the chains were charging. It is a delightful, older hotel, with parking, a pool, charming courtyard and a quint bar. The staff is sincere and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the amenities met expectations. Room temperature was neither cold nor hot and we were not disturbed by street noise. We arrived several hours before check in and they were able to give us a room within an hour of our arrival - very nice. The location was perfect for us. We wanted to be in walking distance to Bourbon Street and the French Market, and that is exactly where we were. Bonus points for being able to access French Toast for breakfast from the hotel.

Rosalind V.

Yelp
Great location! Love, love, love! I can't say enough and I'm only doing it because it's true and fair. My selfish self would otherwise keep this place a secret so it won't be booked when I want to stay! The manager is so sweet, genuine and accommodating . I won't tell his name because that's privileged information. I say genuine because he and the staff are so friendly and I don't feel like they're faking it because it's a job. The rooms and ambiance are unique and the decorations are well-appointed.

Yelp
In December 2018 I had my wedding in Nola. This hotel was blocked for my guests to stay as well as I had my suite booked here before and after the wedding. Customer service was great. They took care of me up until my check out. If you have done your research this hotel is know to be haunted as most New Orleans hotels are. This didn't scare me though. The suit I stayed in on my wedding day gave me a weird vibe it was older looking very spacious but just had an odd smell. Some of my family members described it as "smelling like death". I didn't see or feel anything bad though. One major flaw about my stay was someone from housekeeping went though my things and stole my beats by Dre earphones 250 dollars worth. The case was in my luggage and my earphones were left on a night stand. Who ever stole them made sure to get them with the case. The next day after checking out I called housekeeping and they told me they would investigate to see if someone got them or "found them" but I never got a returned call. This made me feel horrible I've never had this happen to me in any hotel, because of this incident I will not be staying here again. No guest should feel like their personal belongings could go missing. Mind you house keeping came in the room while I was there getting ready for my wedding so they did this while I was

Yelp
Wonderful hotel, amazing kind staff and the Ice House bar is an amazing little gem with the best drinks in the French quarter.
google avatar

Yelp
This is NOT a hotel for kids. Now, you might be thinking is New Orleans a place to take kids - maybe not but that's not for this review. We are here for a wedding. Pros- It's nearby everything. Nice and convenient for visiting Jackson Square and Decatur Street. It's so close to a lovely breakfast place called Croissant D'Or. It is beautiful too. Lovely courtyards and decor. Don't touch the plants - they have thorns! Cons- It's close to everything. It will be loud if you are trying to sleep early. Again, not a hotel for kids. However, they do provide pack N plays. Walls are thin too. I was fortunate enough to hear the puking of the neighboring hotel guest Saturday night. It is fine for someone who does not have kids and wants to party in NOLA!

Yelp
The room we were initially assigned was up a flight of narrow stairs and we had two large suitcases since we were booked to go on a 9 day cruise. The front desk was able to provide another room on the ground floor. This was a plus and much appreciated. But since we booked with a discount on-line company they were not willing to provide us with a single bed room on the ground floor. Our new room had two beds which was a bit of an inconvenience but not as much as climbing stairs. But it was clean and comfortable. One thing that was not so great was that we wanted to stay at the Provincial for one night upon our return from the cruise. However they would not book us a room for one night, even though we had stayed there three nights the week previous and even though we tried to book directly with them. They were steadfast about their rule of a minimum of two nights. So we found the "Haunted Hotel" nearby and they were very accommodating. Even though we only stayed one night the couple who run it bent over backwards in so many ways to make sure we were happy with our stay. We loved our stay there and will probably look for them first when we visit again.

Yelp
We stayed here in August and were so happy from start to finish. Jerome greeted us at the front desk and we instantly became friends. He was funny, engaging and happy. The bellman, Hunter was also very helpful as he took our bags up the stairs (no elevator, it's old so get over it). This is authentic French Quarter and we loved it! The bar claims a better hurricane that Pat O Briens, which we sadly disagreed, but it was good. The ac blows very cold and with this heat and humidity was welcomed!! Parking is steep, $31 a day, but you don't really need a car in the quarter as it is all so very close. French Toast has an entrance from the hotel's parking lot and has great food! We had the avocado toast with a poached egg and their French toast. Yum! Service was fabulous and friendly. Go early to avoid the line. Thanks Hotel Provincial for making our vacation awesome!!

Yelp
Prefect location to getting all around the French Quarters. Close to Freshmen street.... Several places have cover charges to get in. Close to renting bikes ...make sure you lock it up properly- lots of homeless close by watching you. Bourbon Street was also within walking. Royal St with art and food also really close by. The hotel even had a wedding and was able to see their traditional marching wedding parade. Their Icebox Bar was a cute little place with a good hurricane. Since stayed at the hotel we took advantage of the coupon for buy one get one free. Don't expect any noise tight rooms. We had a room that opened up into the street and could hear the horse hooves from tours. We visited during Halloween and the street is popular with tours so expect a lot of people walking up and down at night which can make it difficult walking among them to get to the hotel.

Yelp
It took us a while to settle on a place to roost for a weekend trip to the Big Easy. Unbeknownst to us, it was a fraternities weekend reunion, a cocktail conference, and two other citywide events as well. This place had good reviews, so we took the plunge. Located very close to everything, we couldn't have done better if we tried. 3/4 of our outings were walkable from the hotel. The room has a classy feel to it. You could see some spots that needed touch ups, post-renovation. It's an older facility, so you expect some wear and tear. The AC was on point during this hot summer weekend. The staff were fantastic from curbside, to room service, to the bar tender. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The pool was nice, i went at 8 am both mornings. The second day there was a fair amount of trash around the pool. This could have been cleaned prior to pool opening. There a was also what looked to be a broken window on a door next to the pool the next day. NOLA is always a party. Can't help what the hooligans do. There was no glass or anything, so kudos for the clean up. Some areas for improvement: - Cosmetic touch ups. The ac vent needed some caulking and paint. Gaps look worse than they actually are. - The hot water took 15 minutes to arrive. I don't mind a cold shower, but my roommate was less than happy about it. - The door required sufficient strength to open. It and the frame were not seeing eye to eye. Older, younger, and weaker folks would have issues getting in and out. -Spot check the pool area for cleaning. Kids dont need to be tripping on bottles and whatnot. Nor do i ;) Definitely a food spot I would hit up again for a weekend excursion.

Yelp
Charming family owned hotel in the French Quarter. Molly at the front desk was very accommodating and personable. Coming back soon.

Yelp
I had Hotel Provincial pinned in my Pinterest Board as a place to see in Louisiana because I read about this hotel in a magazine article. Don't ask me where, I don't keep track of that. The only photo I had of it was its beautiful courtyard with the fountain in the center surrounded by wrought iron furniture. I was intrigued... Listed on the National Register of Historic Places? Hook... Locally owned? Line.... Conveniently located in the French Quarter? Sinker!!! Though this hotel is located in the French Quarter, it's on a quiet street away from Bourbon Street almost across the street from the Old Ursuline Convent. It is also, if you are so inclined, only three short blocks to Café Du Monde which is open 24 hours a day. The porters always greet you warmly and though the lobby is not grand, it sure has its own old world charm and elegance. We were assigned a room on the ground floor off of the courtyard the photo of which brought this hotel to my attention in the first place. I loved it. In the morning, I would just open my door so that I get a good view of this courtyard. You can open the window too and then you'll really feel like the entire courtyard is part of your room. If you're an early sleeper, this might not be the best location. I keep thinking I'm still young, but I am always disabused of this notion whenever I want to go to sleep and YOUNGER adults are still up partying. Our room was pretty large with a very large vanity and a separate "room" for the sink, closet, and separate bathroom. Complimentary WiFi is essential when you are trying to face time the kids. Also for instagramming all those awesome photos you've been taking during the day.

Yelp
We had a great stay. We wanted to be near the French Market and not far from Royal and Bourbon and this was perfect. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city and tours. We will be back.

Yelp
We were so disappointed in our stay. I want to clarify though that the staff was great! Hunter is so friendly and is great with guests. It was our honeymoon and he gave us free parking. Even asked how our day was and what we did. The hotel is pretty, but not romantic or charming like the website lead us to believe. We wanted a romantic hotel since it was our honeymoon. The website said charming hotel with rooms overlooking the river. Said it had a beautiful courtyard and pool. Perfect place for a romantic stay....Well....we arrive and the hotel is not what we expected. Our rooms overlooked a courtyard. Not a river. And it was nice, but you can here everybody and everything. The pool is next to the courtyard, so it was always loud. You had to slam our door to get it to shut. But at night, you here everyone in the pool. And in the morning it was so loud with everyone banging their doors, walking by and sitting in the courtyard. And the doors have slats so people can still see in even with them closed. There was no romance about this place and we regretted choosing it for our honeymoon. And for the price we paid, we could have stayed somewhere more private. At least the location was good. Could walk to French quarter. I guess I'm just upset because the website was so misleading.

Yelp
Stayed for 2 nights on a post-Mardi Gras weekend for a little stay-cation. For a high priced FQ hotel, I had high expectations. The location is hard to beat and the set up was really charming and quaint as others have mentioned. But, the service was mediocre and I didn't feel that the staff was welcoming or friendly enough. The walls between our room and the next were very thin and I heard our neighbors talking very clearly at 5:30 am when they came back to the room; you could even hear their alarms go off later in the morning. The rooms (in the area where I stayed) all face the courtyard and pool, and it wasn't very quiet or peaceful. You could hear the voice of every person who was hanging out in the courtyard, etc. I expected the usual ambient FQ noise but not the activities of every other guest. The room itself was pretty standard and I didn't feel that it was much more luxurious than average for the price we paid. The bed was comfy and the headboard was pretty, but not many extra frills here. The toiletries only offer a shampoo/conditioner combo, and there are no robes. We did enjoy the coffee maker. Final logistical things: There is no elevator. The doors to the lobby are awkwardly narrow and stiff making it hard to get your luggage in and out of it. At times there was no staff member watching the gate to let you in "after hours."

Yelp
Big plus- they will store your luggage for the day, after you check out! This place is full of character and we loved it. The valet, the guy that checked us in, the housekeeper I ran into, all were so welcoming. Kudos to the staff! The location is great, everything is within walking distance but you still feel a little set back from all of the busyness. Our room had a musty smell, but it was nothing I didn't expect from being such an old building. We didn't have any issues with our stay and would definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is a cool old hotel right in the French quarter. Man it's a great location for walking to some key tourist spots. It's comfortable and clean. We got a good price. The pool and court yard are very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We got room 221. The only downside is that it's loud because we are right on the street. It's is cool that you can open up your windows and look out though. I'd recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The staff were attentive and enthusiastic. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean, felt safe. The location allowed us to walk all around the French Quarter. Enjoyed the pool and courtyards with our friends. Will definitely be staying here during our next visit to NOLA.

Yelp
Classic New Orleans hotel right in the heart of the French Quarter. Offers all the basic amenities you need in a hotel room, in-hotel bar (which could definitely extend its hours), and extremely helpful service staff. Valet parking also makes finding a spot hassle free.

Yelp
We rented Honfleur for a last minute event during Essence Fest and I was absolutely blown away. The service from Adam and Chef Etienne (also the owner) was incredible - top tier. Anything we asked or needed was done, the answer was never no or that it couldn't be done. The venue is very old school NOLA which is exactly what we wanted and the food was AMAZING as well as the drinks - get the French 75! Our bartender was spectacular and our attendant who helped keep plates cleared was equally amazing, as well as Etienne's son who helped with some of the less desirable manual labor around the place for our event. The space was a great size, with access to the courtyard, a bar area as well as a front room and I'm so looking forward to my next visit to New Orleans for another French 75. 10/10 would recommend Honfleur for the perfect French Quarter experience and incredible hospitality.

Yelp
The Hotel Provincial is a timeless beauty located right in the French Quarter. There is so much intriguing history hidden in the walls of this hotel. If you're looking for good service and a true Cajun experience, I highly recommend this one of a kind hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights after flying in for a trip to the gulf shores. Walking distance to the quarter, French market and cafe du monde and much more, but just enough away to not be too loud (we were on a family trip with two younger kids so no bourbon street for us!) staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were roomy and clean. Try French Toast for breakfast, which you can get to from the back of the parking lot. Kids loved the pool. One star off as it could use a little updating but not a big deal at all. Tour groups pick up from the hotel and you're close enough to walk to any that meet in the quarter. Recommended!

Yelp
Hotel provincial DEFINITELY HAUNTED Room 526 saturday night until Wednesday morning I want to first and foremost mention that we did not do any sort of research in this building. It wasn't until our fourth and last day of our stay that we compared our stories and went down the timeline of events. Did not do any research in this hotel, we did not ask for building 5 or room 526. It was the last place we'd think we would have a supernatural interaction. Sorry for the long review, but in case anyone else who stayed here thinks they are crazy, I want you to know what happened to us. Woke up the first night at 3am or close to it Stayed awake for a while. Felt a presence but nothing malevolent. We just felt.. not alone. I was with my sister my husband and my 5 year old child. Fell back asleep, we talked about it the next morning but thought nothing of it as we where excited to go explore the city. Second night. Notice some blood droplets on my bedsheets but since I bit my finger I thought maybe it was me (only to check my hands later on and I did not have any cuts deep enough to draw blood or bloody fingers) Woke up at the same time.3am in between a woke state and dream state I heard a voice with like an accent (not sure what accent but definitely you can tell it was a white man. "Hello? Hello?" A woman asked or spoke and a voice replied 29 year old male. Dream or not I stood up to listen to the door in case it was people outside talking. Nothing. I notice my sister is up and I move my kid to sleep with my husband and move over to her bad to talk because we are once again wide awake. She tells me how she experienced being hot even though she is always cold. I felt hot too which led me to leave the ac on the next day. Mind you the weather was dripping to 55 at night and 65 during the day. Third night Once again we are both awake at 3am while my husband and baby are sleeping through the night. I felt uneasy again but I told her to let me know if she couldn't sleep. She fell asleep within the hour and I fell asleep almost immediately . Once again like clock work we heard like a train honk at around 4 am. We heard this every night until we left. We where supposed to check out the next day but by accident but my husband book the room until Tuesday and not Wednesday. So they quickly accommodated our mistake and let us stay another night in the same room. Fourth night I wake up around 1:30am The tv was left on so I get up to turn it off At around 2am I start to experience an extreme heat in my body like a bad fever. My legs and feet were unbearable. I wake up my husband who is always complaining of being hot and he is up to his head in a blanket from the cold and he tells me he is fine. I started to burn up more and I hear two knocks down stairs (we are in the second floor) Then after like 15 minutes I hear the Knock almost inside our room. Almost like coming from the bathroom. Boom boom.. always twice. It's about 3am at this point and there is no way I'm sleeping. Everyone else was nice and cool no heat complains. I check the ac.. 65 At this point I'm wide awake and starting to feel super uneasy between the fever like heat and the knocking. I wake my husband up and I tell him it feels like my legs are in fire. My back neck and face are dripping with sweat. He touches me and indeed says "damn" I was drenched in sweat. The temperature is 65 degrees again and he is almost cold to the touch. MIND YOU IM NOT SICK NOR DO I HAVE COVID. As the heat gets more intense I hear the knock again but a floor above. I wanted to wake up my sister but I felt so bad and I'm not going to lie I'm experiencing fear at this point. Completely freaking out. I didn't want to look up to the door way. I'm usually really abrace about these things. Finally after the hours pass I get up to go to the bathroom with my flash light in my phone on. I cool down with the ac and just like that my body temperature is normal and comfy. I Go back to bed and fell asleep. Before falling asleep I feel it experience a conversation in my head where I'm being told I'm not supposed to be there another night. I explain that we made a mistake and needed the room until Wednesday and that they can check with the front desk. I fall asleep finally, nice and chilly. In The morning I ask my sister if she heard the knocking and i tell her what happened to me. She said she heard a woman's voice say "Dead" And thought it was me. She too had a dream we where being evicted from the room and also heard the knocking. My husband heard the double knock as well. He is an insanely heavy sleeper. On Monday we had the fire alarm go off but only my sister and I heard it and he kept sleeping through. We are completely blown away from this experience. Now that we have the knowledge of its history, we would love to stay here again, in the same room.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed at Hotel Provincial for two nights after our cruise just this past week (2/17 & 2/18.) Donald was able to get our rooms ready even though we were several hours early for check in, and Davis was excellent in helping us and my parents with our bags (four large bags, two carry-ons, and several personal bags.) Donald and Davis were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a number of quaint courtyards tucked away here and there. It has that New Orleans charm, and was always clean. Housekeeping services were fast and efficient. I wish I had caught the name of the bartender at The Ice Bar on 2/17, but he was great. He explained the drinks to us, made recommendations, and was easy to chat with. A very wonderful experience and I will definitely recommend this hotel to others in the future.

Yelp
It's a beautiful historic hotel with multiple buildings and a lovely courtyard. It's also HAUNTED. I wish I had looked into this before I booked it but honestly I would have laughed off any stories (as I did when I stayed on the Queen Mary with no incident). Now, I know what you're thinking and you're wrong. I am not crazy. I am a productive member of society with no drug problem or mental issues to speak of. So it went like this... This hotel was recommended to me as the perfect place to stay near the Quarter but not in the middle of the drunken debauchery.. I booked a poolside suite for 2 nights on Expedia at a great rate. We ended up arriving one night earlier than planned and our suite was occupied, so we were given a room in Building 5 and told we could move into our suite the following day. It was late and we were starving, so we found Tableau and they fed us even after closing time (I owe them a review). The only alcohol I had with my dinner was a Bellini, which I only had a few sips of anyway We returned to the room, cranked up the a/c and went to bed. At approximately 3am I woke up to my bed shaking (2 queen beds in the room, I was in one by myself). Next to the bed stood a man in red whose face and very detailed story I will never forget. He told me his name and began to share stories of his life and his demise. He died in that very building alone and in great pain. I tried to close my eyes and wish it away but when I did my bed would shake again and he begged me to listen. I will spare you the long and heartbreaking story. Finally after a couple of hours I was able to sleep again...ok I jumped in my son's bed and put the covers over my head. In the morning my son asked why I wasn't in my bed. I didn't want to tell him so I said there was a draft. As we were getting ready to head out for breakfast, he asked me what was wrong and I just started babbling about the whole thing and to my surprise started crying hysterically. Crying is NOT something I do easily. He looked at me like I was nuts. He said it had to be a dream. I wish it was. We walked down to the front desk so I could ask about getting our luggage moved to the suite. "Good news" the front desk clerk chirped with a smile "if you'd prefer to stay in your current room for the next two days you're welcome to..." "NO!" I shot back defensively, then in a less harsh tone I asked to be moved as soon as possible. When we returned later that day we retrieved our keys and our luggage was in the new room. No further incidents. Loved the suite by the pool. The restaurant was closed the week we were there but there was always coffee at the bar in the morning. The concierge (a sweet and friendly older lady) helped us with useful information and booking activities. When we checked out she asked about our stay, so I hinted about my experience in building 5 but she didn't press so I didn't explain. I just wanted to know if I was the only one. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but only buildings 1-4.

Yelp
Found this package deal on Expedia and I am so pleased I did. I was worried that the rate was so good that there would be something lacking from either the flight or hotel experience. Turns out it was the flight (thanks Spirit Airlines). The Hotel Provencial is centrally located in the French Quarter with excellent walking access to the Mississippi River and Bourbon Street. Cafe Du Monde, Central Grocery, Market Cafe And Cafe Beignet are all just minutes walk from the hotel so if you need breakfast or lunch they are all excellent options. The hotel has multiple courtyards for relaxing and also has an awesome pool. There is also a bar on-site called the Ice House and shout out to the bartender (Nick) for making the best drinks we had in the French Quarter. We stayed in building 5 at the back of the hotel property and our check in process was quick and the concierge was very kind and accommodating. Found out after we checked in that our building once served as a confederate hospital. That was a definite bonus. I was so hoping to see some soldiers in our room or wandering the hallways. There have been stories about people stepping off the elevator onto the second floor into an old hospital, or seeing dead confederate soldiers in their beds or blood stained sheets from the wounded soldiers. All that happened was our chandelier was apparently swaying a bit at night but I didn't see it. Bummer.....We had access from our window to a shared balcony overlooking Decatur Street and the French Market area. By the way the Flea Market was pretty neat and a must see. Our last day there, our flight didn't depart until 7 PM and the concierge took our bags and stored them until we were ready to head to the airport. Another bonus service they provide which gave us time to further explore the French Quarter. Altogether I would love to stay at the Hotel Provencial again. For the price, location, the ambiance, and the eclectic history, this is a tough hotel to pass up when deciding to visit New Orleans. All I can hope for is next time there will more haunts and ghouls.

Yelp
I have stayed at Hotel Provincial twice before over the past 5 years while visiting New Orleans and each time had a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, helpful and I have always enjoyed the service and location. However, this past July was a different experience. We were in Mobile and I decided to take my daughter to New Orleans since she had never had the opportunity to visit. Of course, I knew I wanted to stay at Hotel Provincial. We made reservations over the phone and departed for New Orleans. When we arrived, I quickly noticed that the service was not the same. During check in, the hotel clerk spent a great deal of time checking in one group of guest who had arrived before us, which was fine. But after they left the lobby the hotel clerk milled about behind the desk, checked his cell phone, made a personal call on his phone while we stood waiting. I finally had to go to get his attention because he was filing papers. He knew we were waiting, he just chose to ignore us. The room was comfortable and the AC felt great with the overhead fans but the next morning I awoke with bug bites on my side and back which I did not have when I went to sleep. According to their policy in the lobby "Each room is cleaned according to the highest standards because of Covid-19 blah blah blah" but I think this hotel has a more serious problem, bed bugs. When we checked out the following morning, I think the clerk had a hangover. He was all slumped over the front desk like he was till at the club. I left feeling sad for Hotel Provincial. It's such a great place with a rich history but it seems it has fallen to the wayside in such uncaring and lazy hands.=p
