The hotel is immaculate and has some very nice features. Considering the location it's quiet, rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, the aircon could be a little better but it's adequate. Our first room overlooked the smelly bins but we were moved to a slightly better room, one of the reception chaps didn't have a problem with this, the other didn't seem happy (although his words were polite).||Turns out it's all about appearance and the rules, you must "obey the rules", things like moving sunloungers "doesn't look good" (they initially said the sunlounger moved into the shade was in a walkway, this clearly wasn't correct and they eventually said it was about the appearance).||There are signs everywhere telling you of the rules, there's a sense your always being monitored.||This came to light for me on day one by the pool, trying to relax I was disturbed by the lifeguards 'peep peep' of his whistle (which isn't actually a whistle but a device making it easier to 'peep peep'), two young ladies pretending to push each other into the pool got into trouble, shortly after 'peep peep', a woman trying to sit next to the pool with a plastic water bottle, 'peep peep', a man with a glass bottle walking to his chair but near the pool (this one makes sense but I'm hoping to demonstrate the monitoring and the constant 'peep peeping'). ||If you don't move the sun loungers from their perfectly straight line, don't leave your lilo in the water and take your empty drink cups to the bin the second you've finished you will be okay but, as I heard a man shout, "don't have fun" ! ||The lifeguard circles the pool area every few minutes, he has a passive aggressive type style, laughs and jokes but is really there to take your cup from you as your almost finishing your drink or to tidy something thats slightly out of place. Theres potential that he's trying to be helpful when he shows you to a sunlounger and brings you a table but it also means he gets to control who and what goes where and what is moved. A lady near me left her inflatable in the water, this was, with a smile, firmly dumped on her sunlounger.||In the restaurant I saw two grown men sneaking coffee outside to a terrace, they were scurrying like naughty schoolboys, a woman tried to take a banana, she was immediately followed and the banana removed, I asked to borrow an empty cup (as there are no glasses in the rooms), this was very reluctantly agreed.||Another day, another man taking a coffee outside to enjoy with his cigarette at a bar area, as I passed I wondered how he had managed that, seconds later I saw the lifeguard and a restaurant 'warden' running towards him shouting, again don't try and relax and enjoy your holiday, remember you are an inconvenience to their tight ship, don't break the rules.||Also some things on the hotels own website or agents authorised for bookings have been changed or are misleading, there are no longer cabana type sunloungers, no longer an upstairs terrace with comfy sofa's, no outdoor breakfast area. We booked for the outdoor breakfast terrace which I enjoy and sofa area as I don't sunbathe, we didn't get either of these.||Has potential to be lovely, but wasn't at all relaxing, we won't return.
