Boutique Hotel Puerta de las Granadas stands out for its central location in the old, historic part of the city. What really makes it special, though, is that it’s not a soulless, corporate block where every room and corridor look the same. The hotel makes the most of its historic setting by giving each room its own personality. We stayed in a room with a small balcony overlooking the street, while other rooms face the courtyard—and from the top floor, you can even see the Alhambra. The hotel also sets itself apart with an on-site café, restaurant, breakfast buffet room, gym, and library. The reception and breakfast staff were very welcoming. It took me a few seconds to figure out how to use the shower—there are instructions on the glass door—but once I did, it was fantastic. The Japanese-style toilet is a unique feature in Europe and a nice surprise.

We enjoyed our stay at Puerta de las Granadas. The location is perfect. Close to one of the main streets but on a quiet side street. Close to buses going to the Alhambra. The view from the rooftop restaurant/bar is lovely. |Our room was very nice and roomy. They kindly upgraded us to this larger room. The front desk staff were very welcoming.|Oddly the only complaint was housekeeping. Our toilet paper was not replenished and the requested blanket had to be asked for twice. The bottom sheets on the bed were too small so by morning the bed was quite a mess. These seem like such easy fixes so it was surprising for a hotel that was otherwise quite nice.

Hotel was clean and modern, and is in a good location on a hilly street just a few minutes’ walk from Plaza Nueva and all the shops and restaurants in that area, as well as to the Puerta de las Granadas entrance to the Alhambra grounds uphill. We got a triple room with a double bed and a signle bed, also had two chairs and a tiny table, TV, safe, mini fridge, and fast Wi-Fi. The bathroom was rather unusual in that the shower was a glass shower in the middle of the room so not much privacy there when you step out (it did have a privacy decal around the middle of the glass). The toilet was in a separate room with a door, and it was a Japanese-style toilet. Bathroom amenities included body wash/shampoo and lotion. The hotel itself was nice with a terrace café (which we didn’t use at it was a bit too expensive for us). The breakfast room was great with plenty of seating and a great buffet selection including toast, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruits, cheese, bacon, and eggs. One of the best breakfast buffets of our whole trip in fact. Would recommend hotel based on location and breakfast buffet mostly.

Liked: |1. Two adjacent rooms - great for a family with children. Privacy for parents and 2 separate bathrooms|2. Very close to the center of Granada and to restaurants. And walking distance to Alhamra and other major attractions|3. Very friendly and helpful staff|4. Very clean rooms and the cleaning staff did a great job|5. Tea and Piononos (local speciality dessert) were offered - free of charge - in the reception area lounge|6. Two safes: one in each room|7. Wood floors (much better than carpets)| |Did not like:|1. The toilet door of the main bath (made of privacy glass), cannot be locked and stayed open all the time.|2. There was a water leak under the wash tub in the main room (and all the towels became wet). The leak was fixed right away after we reported it. And we got new towels.|3. The toilet flush (in second bathroom) got stuck several times. We did not report it.|4. The folding sofa bed was not comfortable for adults. And two separate single beds would have been better - especially for older children who cannot sleep next to each other.|5. The drapes in the main room smelled of dust|6. We were not told that we must dial 500 to reach the reception. So, we had to walk down to report the water leak.

Fabulous stay! Nice room, with a beautiful view of the Alhambra. Super comfortable bed, terrific location ( close to everything but peaceful/quiet---and all the staff we dealt with at the front desk were very kind and helpful. Rosario was also really wonderful helping us with arrangements even before we arrived, helping to connect us with a terrific guide for tour of the Alhambra, helping to arrange a driver, etc.

We loved this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. The first night we ate dinner on the terrace. That was lovely. The location was great. Very walkable to many of the sights. Although, be ready for some hills and stairs. The room was very nice, although the configuration of the shower is a little strange. You would not want to share a room with a friend that you are not very familiar with. You step out of the shower into the room. That being said, we would stay here again.

Hotel Puerta De Las Granadas is in a perfect location steps (.25 mi. Steep walk) to Alhambra. Hotel beautiful and new looking with small courtyard on one level and restaurant on roof with views of Alhambra. Library on first floor. Breakfast in basement was good but Barcelona was a tough act to follow. Includes spicy scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, coffee machine, meats and cheeses, etc. Turkish tea and sweet cakes in lobby in afternoon. Beds a little firm. Gets cold at night another blanket needed. Bathroom clean and super modern. Fridge and 2 bottles of water provided each day. Steps from Plaza nueva with tour tram, busses, taxi stand and on Rick Steves walking tour & nice stroll by river.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel Puerta de las Granada. The front desk employees were accommodating and helped me to prepare for my tours. They were also able to give me a late checkout. The hotel itself was modern and had many areas such as the 2nd floor patio and rooftop to relax and take in the sights. My room had a terrace that had views of the Alhambra. I was pleasantly surprised by the location. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for your next stay.

Yelp
This is a quaint hotel in a historic building and a 10 minute walk to the allahambra and 2 minutes walk to the main square /restaurants The staff was accommodating and pleasant, I accidentally booked the incorrect ticket for the allahambra so they contacted the agency and got it fixed, definitely book through them! I recommend this hotel and stuff!!

Yelp
This hotel is a basic value, simple 16 bed, no frills, comfortable hotel. It gets 5 stars because of it's prime location up the Alhambra (10 minutes walking up hill). They have free internet and computer access. We got a 5% discount because we booked early. We got upgraded to the third floor and got a small view of the Alhambra. Katia and Manuel were really helpful to us answering all of our questions. It was a bit tricky getting into Granada by bus as we had to backtrack. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Please cross reference this with Trip Advisor before booking. Remodeled in 2006 and has an elevator. Rooms are spacious. Free safe and room has a refrigerator. I guess in Europe, hotels are required to list the ranking of the hotel based on "stars" on the signage. This was a "three star" hotel. One block down the main street and there will be a bus for quick access to the Albayzin (Moorish quarter). 85 Euro/night.

Yelp
One of the best hotels on our trip to Spain! Fransisco and company at the desk were excellent--directions, maps, information on things to see. The hotel is straight down from the Alhambra. Though we chose not to have breakfast at the hotel, we took coffee onto the courtyard. Computers were available. Would heartily recommend this hotel to all! By the way, when I booked while still in the United States, the hotel sent info for tickets for the Alahambra and booked our tickets. REALLY great - we got to bypass the crazy lines, no hassle. They also got us tickets for Flamenco when we were at the hotel.
