Hard to recommend this place despite the great views from our terraced room. There are a handful of restaurants and bars nearby, some of which are quite good. We visited in shoulder season so it was relatively quiet but I suspect it gets busy in summer. Reception was generally uninterested and seemed bored, but they got the job done I guess. No tea or coffee facilities in the room and the A/C only had two modes: useless or freezing. Our bed linen had holes in it and marks from getting caught in a machine somewhere. We exposed the damage so cleaners could fix it the next day. Not done. In fact we stayed for a week and never got clean linen. Some days we got no replacement bath mats. On the final day we had to open our own stash of toilet paper as it hadn’t been replenished. Crumbs from our breadstick on day 2 were still on the floor when we left. Maybe we were unlucky, but not great. It suited our purpose and the cost was reasonable, but it could be so much better with a little effort. 😏

We had a lovely evening meal in the Terraza restaurant. Our waitress was so welcoming, the food was freshly prepared and delicious, and the location was ideal, with views over the marina. Definitely recommended.

The hotel needs a makeover. That being said my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was there just at the end of the season. My friend had a reception there and the staff were so nice. The food was great, especially the croquetas. Breakfast was decent. There wasn’t much to do in the general area, however there were plenty of restaurants nearby.

Great hotel. Went out of season, incredibly quiet. Public areas looked tired but rooms excellent

This is how a new room in this 4 star hotel looks like. Hairs on the bed and in the bathroom. The wc is dirty. Hotel Porto Sherry is not clean. The hotel is very old. Would not reccomend. The only solution they gave was a new room. If you cant even clean a toilet, i dont want a new room. I left got another hotel.

The staff at reception are exceptional. They are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.||||The rooms used to be superb, but clearly have lacked a decent updating budget. Our TV lacked the usual English language channels. The picture quality was poor, with regular break-up and pixilation. Our fridge was unable to cool the two supplied bottles of water, and was externally dirty. The shower temperature was inconsistent....one second lukewarm, then scalding. A room with a bath was not available, even when we got moved to a quieter room, though clearly shown on the web site. The blackout curtains had holes in them. The balcony was unusually large and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the Marina.||||Dinner was a disaster. One star not four. Food was cold on arrival at the table. The dishes and presentation belonged to the Spain of so many years ago. On our first night, we were the only diners. On the second, there were a few more, but despite the attention of a really pleasant and caring manager and waiter, my wife's soup arrived almost cold!!||||||I presume that unlike us, most people will be staying on a bed and breakfast basis. I have travelled all over Spain over the last 7 years, and I have never been so disappointed in a breakfast. The space allocated to the buffet was totally inadequate, and as a result, the fare on offer was meagre. I have never not been offered a choice of tea or coffee, brought to my table....not once. Here it is serve yourself from a machine. Where was the usual selection of freshly squeezed juices? On our first morning, it was clear that nobody was topping up the fruit offerings.||||What about a drink then? Well the really beautiful bar is firmly closed! I had to go to a small door at the back of the dining room and alert a waiter who was in conversation with someone hidden from view. All I wanted was a gin and tonic. Gin was available, but he had to disappear for around three minutes, when he returned with ONE bottle of tonic. So the next customer asking for a G&T would have had the same problem. We noticed when having dinner on the excellent terrace, that customers were quite simply ignored.||||The Wi-Fi signal is good and free. Parking is free and close to the hotel, and some is covered.||||Be warned that my car's built in GPS could not find the hotel, but luckily Apple Car Play came to the rescue.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Hotel Puerto Sherry during a weekend in October. Parking is available, check-in was easy, and our room was clean.||||We booked a junior suite...I'm not sure the room really qualified as such. Our patio was larger than others, however it backed up against bathrooms in the hallway which we could hear when used. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was ok, however when we asked for fresh scrambled eggs the staff got them for us right away.||||The location is ok, there are a few restaurants in walking distance, but both Rota and Cadiz are decent drive.||||I think this hotel is good for functions or if you are passing through the Marina, but I wouldn't stay here if I was visiting the area again. The service at the hotel stood out, but the hotel is dated and the location is just ok.

We had a very nice stay at this Hotel: nice staff, big rooms and a free shuttle service (especially the driver was really sweet and was always there to help us). Furthermore, they have a great Restaurant. Some of the double-rooms are without terrace/balcony which is a bit unfortunate if you want to spend your summer holiday here (hanging up wet clothes and beach towels..). The view from the other rooms is amazing though!! Can definitely recommend this Hotel :-)

Yelp
This review is for the hotel's terrace restaurant. Absolutely EXCELLENT location overlooking the Marina ( great sunsets!!), Terrific food menu variety and price point.... BUT my kudos go out to the SERVICE offered here !! I've lived in El Puerto over 30 years and have been enjoying memorable events at this locale with such fond memories !! Just last Saturday we invited good friends to try a meal and not surprisingly they came away fans with intent to return for sure. To mention the incredible staff we've known over the years as family with their long tenure here: Fran the maitre de... INcredible pro whose organized numerous family and professional Rota navy Base functions. Lilly AND Leo: our long time favorite servers Always so pleasant, efficient, patient and attentive to our meal progress/ drink status etc---no matter how slammed she can get with multiple tables going on. Kitchen staff: Chefs Roberto and Diego created a fantastic black paella in calimar ink topped with Parmesan cheese. In summary, if visiting El Puerto try and have a meal or just drinks here, as it's absolutely open to the public / non- guests !!!

Yelp
Rooms were quite spacious and well furnished. The buffet breakfast was excellent and a good value for the price. The hotel staff spoke fluent English and always were very courteous and helpful. The biggest problem was with noise. We were on the first floor facing the parking lot. Even with the windows closed, the noise carried through interrupting our sleep. Also, someone in the floors above allowed their child(s) to run up and down the hallway which also made sleeping hard. If it wasn't for the noise factor, I would rate this place much higher.
