It's a nicely decorated, luxury small hotel. We stayed 3 nights. I think we had one of the larger, more expensive rooms, right on the ground floor with an outdoor garden and seating area. It seems all of the ground floor rooms are situated around the front desk, hence the problem. You will hear lobby conversation, especially from the front desk staff, and they play music just off the lobby. I had to ask one time to change the music because the were playing techno/dance? music which translated into our room as just bass and drums. But, and this is the real reason for a mediocre review, on one night they hosted what I would estimate as 50-75 people in the lobby extending into the breakfast dining area behind for a reception featuring the same music, but very loud. It went until 11p, and I'd guess it started around 6p. We are talking right outside our and others' doors. Again, pounding bass and drums, and crowd noise. The reception to whom I WTF inquired said it's only on Thursdays. So beware. But very unprofessional. Do you want to be a luxury hotel or a night club? I've stayed in hotels where there's a bar on the ground floor or roof, not ideal always but I get it, but outside of guests' rooms? They should comp every guest who stayed there that night. I think, just speculating, that this place is somewhat corporate chic and that there are just staff running the place and not any sort of hotelier. Wouldn't stay there again. (Wouldn't stay in Polanco, but that's another story.)
