Wow! What an absolutely amazing hotel. Hotel Pumilio was a dream Costa Rican stay for us, a destination we were excited about for a long time. Not only is it only a 6-7 min drive from all the action on Jaco Beach, but Ubers are extremely easy to order and never exceed $10 USD, and that’s at busy times! Being a few minutes driving from the busy strip at Jaco comes with the benefit of peace and quiet whenever you want it, with the option to party in Jaco whenever you want! The staff is really what makes it all worthwhile! The rooms are extremely impressive, but the attentive and caring nature of every staff member we encountered was heartwarming. Geiner at the front desk helped us with any and all needs, from needing more soap and getting it within seconds, to booking last minute excursions for a great price, and everything in between. He really made us feel at home throughout our 5 day stay, and we couldn’t be more grateful! The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and fresh everyday, usually involving eggs, pancakes/waffles, tamales, rice/beans, sausages, as well as fruits, cereals, and yogurt! The pool is clean, as is the rest of the property, and is fun to explore a little bit with the wildlife. Our room was GORGEOUS! Super high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows to the yard, which featured our amazing hot tub, which we used nightly. The showers were awesome with the view to the yard, and the room was spacious and had a lovely A/C unit. Overall, we would absolutely recommend that you stay at Pumilio. With the amenities, friendly staff, and proximity to the fun, it’s an irresistible option and we will definitely be staying there next time we visit!

This was the best customer service I have probably ever experienced. Pre-trip, the hotel was very responsive via email to answer my various questions. I coordinated airport travel and several activities thorough the hotel which I 100% recommend doing for the convenience. Every day the staff asked us how we were doing and were so willing to jump on any request, recommend experiences, or offer information. They even came out with an umbrella ready for us when we were getting dropped off in the rain one day. I could not say enough good things about my experience here and I hope to be back!! Getting an uber in this area was pretty easy as well!

Absolutely fabulous place! I reserved Hotel Pumilio, when I had to change plans *at the last minute.* Had no idea it would be THIS good and I felt like I had stumbled into a mirage in the jungle. This place is perfect if you plan to spend a day or night in super-cool Jaco. Very secluded, quiet and enchanting. The room has a kitchen OUTSIDE on the patio, which overlooks the pool. They give you a chain lock for the fridge because of the shrewd racoons who can literally, pick a lock. And while you're having their delicious breakfast (if you do not feel like making your own) you can watch white-faced capuchin monkeys, green iguanas and slender anoles dart around the trees. I did say enchanting. I was so frickin' hot when I arrived that I jumped straight into the sparkling blue pool and had it all to myself for the entire afternoon. The rooms are spacious, spotless and comfortable.

We only stayed one night here as we were just passing through Jacó on our way further south. We received a very friendly welcome on a very rainy night. The rooms are a bit outdated BUT the shower was amazing - super powerful and warm. We felt that the room was clean but there were some mouldy parts around the patio doors simply because the entire area is quite wet because its in the forest.||Our kids loved the pool so much - they went straight out there and made friends with the Costa Rican kids playing in there. The pool was right at the entrance to our patio, which was helpful!||We ordered take out food through the restaurant which was easy ($7 delivery charge). Breakfast was lovely.||Nearby there is a waterfall and monkey tour which is easy to access. We did the super short tour as we had to leave to get to our next location but it was good fun.

The hotel could be more honest about the distance to the beach (which is approx. 15 minutes by car and not 5 as stated on their website) and about the their rooms. They are advertising some rooms as newly refurbished which is not the case.|The hotel is located in a small village nearby a forest. You can hear and see birds like macaws. In the forest are waterfalls which can be explored via a guided tour.|The breakfast is very good, they prepare eggs, pancakes, waffles upon request freshly. The hotel pays a lot of attention to security, they are closely monitoring who is coming and leaving. Considering Jaco‘s night life this is a big benefit.|The attitude of certain members of the staff could be improved. Sometimes I felt that they are paying more attention to their phones as to the guest. Isaac was very attentive and supportive.

The team at the front desk helped accommodate finding my husband and I another room after there were multiple dead insects and in our assigned hotel room. The outdoor breakfast was delicious aside from the fruit being overrun by flies. Overall, nice quiet hotel with a pool that lets you use their bikes for free.

I stayed in the suite with the "jacuzzi". The room is beautiful but we had issues with the shower not getting hot enough unless we left it on for 20 minutes or so before we got in. The jacuzzi was more of a warm small pool. It has the jets but the water was not hot at all. Both shower heads were rusted as well. I would recommend adding a microwave in the room. The only option we had if we needed to reheat food was to walk down to the breakfast area to use the microwave outside. The staff were all great! The location is about 1 1/2 away from the airport but it's close to downtown Jaco and the beach. If you don't want to go out, you can just have your food delivered. We didn't rent a car, the Uber was very affordable. Less than $8 each way, but of course that depends on the time of day. Overall, we would definitely return! Pura Vida!!
