The Hotel Punta Faro is an absolute paradise. We greatly appreciated the absence of artificial noise and of the music, as this place has so much natural sounds to offer - ocean waves, wind, marine birds. I therefore cannot understand some negative reviews that complain about the fact that the place is "too quiet"... Peace and tranquility in the stunning natural surroundings are part of this beautiful experience! The staff was very professional, well trained and attentive. We felt totally safe all the time. The only regret we had is that our stay was too short (3 nights). I will happily come back again for a longer stay. 100% recommended!!!

Fantastic relaxation. Idyllic location - breezy point, white sand beach, immaculate grounds. Gorgeous dark wood buildings and furniture with abundant art. And incredibly friendly and helpful staff. |However - perusing the few negative reviews - these are "Robinson Crusoe / Summer Camp" rooms - very comfortable but spartan. The food is plentiful and good - but its not great. If you need either of those, this is not for you. Also in Latin countries young children are not segregated the way Anglos do, so you need to be OK with lots of kids doing what kids do. Most of the staff speaks little English - hey it's Colombia, good time to learn some Spanish. And there is no "nightlife" - both of the resort bars are largely deserted in the evenings, and there is nowhere else to go on the island. But if you want tranquility, this place has it. When you need a jolt, kayak around the island, couple miles of fun. And we enjoyed wine on our veranda in the evenings rather than clubbing. Only real complaint is that internet access is sporadic, but that was also true in Cartagena. So - highly recommended.

A magical, unique, family owned resort. We stayed three nights and probably would have preferred a few more days. The gardens, activities, beach and wildlife were wonderful. Food was solid, drinks were very good, staff was always available for your every need. Worth the boat ride from Cartagena.

This place is a gem , secluded, safe with a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff is professional, pleasant, very attentive. Service is great. Alexis and Gliber from restaurants, luggage staff , Jennifer from coffee shop , were amazing with the quality of work .

Some good and some improvement points. Taking into account the price it costs compared to other places, I am a bit hard on the number of stars... The good: direct environment is great, birds and iguanas share the garden (and meals), rooms and bungalows with sea view are really nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. The luminescent plancton activity is great, the spa is ok and, outside of week ends, this is quiet The bad: 1/ During week ends, the village next door is powering on a huge sound system from morning to late night... Dont count on quietness... Not much the hotel can do of course but this is not what we paid for... 2/ The food is very average... Clearly not at the level of many restaurants we have been in. After a couple of days you are no longer looking forward for the buffet... 3/ all extras are super expensive... Even to borrow a mask and snorkel you need to pay. For us, that was a first in a hotel like this. To play tennis, they charge the court AND the rackets... So you feel a bit trapped in the middle of the ocean and you need to pay a high price for everything.... 4/ it is super hot in summer, balcony would be 10 times nicer with a fan 5/ pillows are bad 6/ if you walk through the hotel to exit to the village, you go through a large garbage zone which is awful... On the facade, they claim nature respect, on the back it is a shame

Such a magical place if you are seeking beauty and serenity. The rooms are lovely--spring for a waterview if you can. The group meals are fun and easy, and the food is good (not amazing, but it's a tiny remote island without many natural resources). Best lemonade and limeade ever! Lovely bar on the water, wild toucans, highly recommend.

Just wanted to reiterate the review made on February 2023 . This gives a detailed breakdown of the hotel. |My husband and I loved it after14 days travelling around Colombia.|R and R here is beautiful!!!!! Fabulous beach and absolutely beautiful ambience! ||Food is plentiful, but not gastronomic. |However, the isle does know how to cook shrimp and some white fish… tilapia for example. The desserts are excellent and extremely tempting!!!! |Oh , so are the soups… strange for such a hot area , but Colombia are big on soups. |The hotel do cater for dietary requirements, but you must be clear about your needs. |Thank you to all the staff who made our stay very special. Thank you especially to Dairo , who works on reception and was hugely helpful. ||I would definitely recommend this hotel experience but please be aware it takes 2/2.5 hours from Cartegena to get here. Well worth it , however it is an effort to get here.
