Really great hotel with a good pool. Rooms are large with plenty of space. Highly Recommend food at the restaurant. Breakfast has a lot of variety and tastes delicious.

Highly recommend, good sized rooms with all the facilities, clean and modern. Well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and the pool is also very good.

Good food! We enjoyed gambas al ajilla almejas a la marine , torta queso, pollo curry, and churrasco Pollo. ||This was a hidden gem when looking at the front of the building but once inside you could see the lush garden, waterfall, and pool.||It would make a great place for a romantic weekend for a couple if you decided to stay here. Just across the street you can see all the kite surfers.

Went away for a relaxing evening, requested a quiet room and upgraded to a junior suite as a treat. No aircon, fan broken and mosquito central, so couldnt leave windows open. Our main problem sleeping however, was the white peacock which sounded like a strangled human going off every hour, from 11 to 7am. Wouldnt recommend and wont go again. On the plus side, nice gardens and pool, plus ok staff. Evening meal was the highlight, chef is decent and service good.

The Punta Sur is a perfect hotel in so many ways. Beautiful peacocks stride around the hotel and the grounds and gardens are beautifully kept. The location is great, only 5 min drive into Tarifa and close to great beaches just on the opposite side of the road to the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean with great facilities and good wifi. The pool and tennis court are in perfect condition. The restaurant is definitely a highlight. The menu caters for all tastes and is of very high quality. The breakfast had delicious fresh fruit, pastries and fresh orange juice and much more. They have a BBQ every night with a great selection of meat and fish, the Iberian Pork was one of our highlights. Great salads, especially the burata salad. All the food was consistently great quality and had delicious fresh ingredients. The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient and the service was excellent for our entire stay. ¡Muchas gracias! We will definitely be back!

We have previously stayed at Punta Sur and knew we wanted to stay here again on our recent trip. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and relaxing and the pool area is great with lots of loungers and a huge swimming pool. The rooms are simple but very spacious with everything you need. The breakfast buffet is a real highlight with lots of options.

I’ve been here twice and will continue coming to this hotel. It’s located on a beautiful garden, with the beach over the road and at the right distance from summer-crowded Tarifa. Its laid-back atmosphere pulls you immediately to a vacation mindset. I love the retro touch of its decoration, the no-thrills approach of the facilities and the exotic touch of the peacocks wandering through the garden. The restaurant is extremely pleasant with its outdoor seating facing the beautiful garden, fish is fresh and service is careful.||Having said this, it’s a pity that this hotel doesn’t improve a few things that are below standard and not aligned with their prices:||- Breakfast: good variety but low-cost products. This can be easily improved with cherry-picked items such as specialty coffee, ham and cheese of superior quality (instead of basic supermarket quality), option to have eggs cooked as you like (instead of only boiled eggs), another natural juice apart from orange.||- Service: generally nice but could use a more proactive approach. When asked if I could switch to a larger room, I received the answer “we are full but please swing by to see if there are any cancellations during the week” instead of “let me make a note and I will call you if there are any cancellations”||- Tennis: Nice tennis court but hotel guests need to pay €10/hour to use it, which is of really bad taste given the current price point. Also even though there is a good tennis teacher in the area and you can hire him for classes, this is not advertised on the hotel’s leaflet given at the check-in.||- Bar: the beautiful lodge deserves a better-quality bar, with a barman preparing some mean cocktails and a few all-day tasty snacks and salads ||- Gym and spa: again, don’t know if it is possible to do any massage or treatment because no one proactively tells you about this at check-in. But with the lovely facility facing the garden and the pool, seems a waste not to use it. ||- Beach service: With a desert (yet rocky) beach just on the other side of the road, it would be a plus if they would prepare packaged lunches and a beach kit (sunshade, towels)||All in all, if you enjoy a high-level service hotel, this is not your place. But you’ll have a blast if you fancy a no-thrills, laid-back vacation.

A great hotel off the main road, situated in fabulous grounds, the main building is decorated in Gaudi-esque tiles and interesting art. The restaurant is fantastic, serving the best sea bream I ever tasted along with a good selection of meats and vegetarian platters. The bungalow style rooms are well equipped with minibar and television; however, the smell of damp was overwhelming when we walked in, and it was evident from the walls by the beds that this is where the problem lies. One of the bedside lights was not working, the safe was not working, the shower was erratic, and our balcony door was found to be unlocked, with no key in the lock. The problem was resolved when we were told that our room key works to lock this door, but only from the outside. Clear instructions on use of this key, the television and the air conditioning would have been good. The pool is wonderful with plenty of sun beds and bean bags but the peaceful atmosphere was somewhat spoiled by the noisy communion party guests who ended up swimming and splashing around in their underwear and the blaring party music. The peacocks which live on the grounds are spectacular and are obviously used to being photographed as they wander about freely. I would return to this lovely hotel, but would welcome an improvement in maintenance.
