If you are looking for the most stunning views, beautiful rooms, and kindest staff- look no further than Punta Tragara. I did tons of research comparing across many 5 star hotels before our first time to Capri and my ultimate decision proved to be perfect. This hotel is situated in the best possible vantage point of Capri. The views are jaw dropping and will have you not wanting to leave the hotel. The location is removed enough from the busy town center but still just a beautiful and enjoyable stroll away. You also have the ability to take a walk ( may be aggressive for some) down to Fontelina and Da Luigi beach clubs. The food served at the hotel at breakfast, lunch and dinner is all delicious. Pre-dinner sunset cocktails while listening to live music or a DJ is an absolute dream. This is all topped off by the most amazing staff that will leave you wanting to keep coming back to this hotel year after year. They certainly accomplished that with us and we are about to head there for our 4th time and couldn’t be more excited! Thank you Punta Tragara team for creating such a special place that feels like home to us.

In five-star hotels, attention to detail is a given, right? And in Capri, a breathtaking ocean view from your room isn’t a luxury—it’s simply expected, again, right?||So, what makes Hotel Punta Tragara stand out from the rest, making it the hotel you’d want to recommend to five-star hotel travelers? In a single word: service.||Even six years after my stay, the warmth of that experience still lingers with me. From the front-line staff who welcome you with genuine hospitality to the unseen team working behind the scenes, their dedication could be felt in every moment of my stay. You may not see every member of the staff, but you can certainly feel their effort.||That’s why beautiful photos alone cannot fully capture what makes Hotel Punta Tragara special. Exceptional staff transforms a hotel into something truly unforgettable.||If you’re deciding between five-star hotels, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Punta Tragara. Your stay here won’t just be luxurious—it will be unforgettable.

We recently stayed at this hotel with expectations that were not met . Room was nothing like the photo , our view was mostly tree tops with a tiny balcony that was dirty and full of mosquitoes. Our room was also right next to the observation area where dozens of tourists came and were loud into the late hours . Thus sitting outside or keeping a door open was unpleasant. Reaching concierge to make arrangements to enhance our stay took 10’days to finalize and 2 calls to Italy to see if my emails were received. Stressful to say the least. I was told beach was walking distance … however come to find out it’s by reservation Only and they were booked daily, so if you plan on swimming your in the wrong place ! Staff has preferential treatment, in other words if you don’t look wealthy your not important. The walk to town is 20 minutes not 10 minutes . Food was old … and not edible from room service . Couldn’t wait to leave ! Waste of money

Had a great stay at Punta Tragara, the hotel is an iconic property on Capri, just hanging at the top of the cliff overlooking the Faraglioni and the marina piccola bay. It is a little walk from the piazzetta, however once you're settled in, the walk is part of the experience, the via tragara is caprese charm on its own. The whole team was lovely, from the lady running breakfast, to the servers at Le Monzu, a special thanks to Antonio at front desk who gave very special recommendations. The website is transparent about the views one can expect on each category and you will need to book a special suite for a guaranteed view on the Faraglioni, my room still had a lovely sea view, between the faraglioni and the marina piccola bay, the only negative was it lacked a little privacy as tourists in the belvedere were quite close, and it also lacked some soundproofing with the floor above.

We stayed at the hotel Punta Tragara mid July 2025 and it was an amazingly beautiful property. We had the most breathtaking view from our Deluxe sea-view room. Every morning we had complementary breakfast overlooking Capri with views of the Blue Grotto area as well. They have a Michelin star restaurant, Le Monzu, which I highly recommend and the lunch restaurant near the pool has excellent food as well. The staff were so accommodating and everything was top-notch and luxurious. If I ever went back to Capri, I would stay here again without a doubt. You cannot beat the view and the property is just gorgeous!

The hotel is a beautifully maintained hotel which has all the in room amenities I could want bar perhaps hair straighteners which you rarely expect. There is a box of bathroom accessories, fully stocked mini bar which is refreshed in the evenings and a walk in wardrobe space. The hotel is very clean and nothing is shabby. |The main thing about this hotel that makes it worth the price tag is the view. The views from the rooms with balconies facing the sea are perfection. You could sit and stare at the view all day. We had 4 balconies to our room and all were gorgeous! |The staff were very helpful again as you would expect from a 5 star hotel in Capri. They were great at arranging bags to and from the ferry and it’s a very well organised arrangement.|I would say if feel like the food in Capri for the standard is a little more expensive and not as fantastic as elsewhere in Italy, personally speaking.|The spa was nice but for £200 for a massage for one hour I have had better and at much better value.

We would not return to the Punta Tragara. The location is stunning, and our suite was beautiful, but the staff is unpleasant, with the exception of Federica, who is lovely, and the breakfast staff. Although it has gorgeous views, and is a 5 star, expensive hotel, it is 27 out of 44 hotels in Capri on tripadvisor. I should not have ignored this red flag. There are plenty of other hotels with gorgeous views, and you can also see the Punta Tragara's views from the end of the street (Via Tragara).

We chose this hotel from the amazing photos on their website of the room category we selected. The cost was significant but we felt it was worth it when we booked it. We arrived and were shown to our room which was in the basement of the hotel. It looked NOTHING like the room category we had paid for. There were no full height windows and doors with unobstructed perfect sea views...instead there were small porthole like windows. We could see the water but a few windows were covered in part by trees because our room was so far beneath the hotel that we were in the trees(again, not even close to the all water, no obstruction views they advertised). The furniture was gross and cheap. They had a rusted chair in the bathroom. The porches were supposed to have chaise lounges on them. We got a tiny pair of cafe chairs with a tiny little table. We were so disappointed. We had been looking forward to this for a year. The lobby is also gross and outdated with random desks/tables/cords. The carpet is old and the stair carpeting is also old and dirty. The staff was WONDERFUL though...so nice and friendly and the service was great. The food was amazing. If they hadn't false advertised our room category, we would have really had a great experience. It is more like a 4 star hotel in terms of our room and the common areas....it is such a great property and they could make it amazing if they put a little money and effort into it. The service and food were 5 star quality but the rest was 4 star quality. And the prices were high 5 star prices.

Yelp
This hotel is so luxurious. I stayed here on one of my visits to this magnificent island and I loved it. It's in a great location, the food is great, the spa services were terrific and the staff was so kind. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a luxurious holiday!

Yelp
amazing hotel! stayed here in summer 2014 and it was probably one of the best hotels i have stayed in. delicious food, and very friendly staff. the only negative thing was the wifi connection wasn't too good, but other then that excellent experience.
