Nice and clean hotel. Great location and comfortable bed. I can't believe no one mentioned the knee buster of a wire/cable enclosure under the desk. Put your carry on under it for now but those really need to be smaller or have a soft corner.

Nearly empty hotel. Good thing is we got to check in at 10AM. Bad thing is they never made up our rooms even though we hung up the tags asking for service. Maybe we should’ve asked front desk. Other than that the rooms were nice and clean. Gym amenities were limited but decent. There’s a pool table available to play.

We really enjoyed our week long stay at the Hotel Pur. It was beautifully clean and modern. The interior decor is a bit weird if you're not really into very modern work. But the lovely fireplace in the lobby more than made up for a rather stark lobby. The real pluses of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was very helpful. We needed help with a taxi at 3 am to go back to the States and the concierge made our appointment with a taxi driver he uses and even came to our room and left a note saying who the driver of the taxi would be. |We are fluent French speakers and it was pleasant to be able to communicate with the staff in either French or English. All the desk staff and concierge staff was well able to help English-speaking travelers. |The maid was simply amazing. We really felt she was a miracle worker. Our room looked impeccable whenever we returned to it. We must have tried her patience as we often left our room very late in the morning. So she had to wait to make up our room. We've been in hotels where we had to leave by an early hour to be sure the maid service would even be done. The hotel room looks just like the pictures and we had a beautiful view of the St Roch church. |You do need to know that this hotel is not in Vieux Quebec. The quarter is very interesting and there are lots of nice restaurants, but walking to the tourist sites would have been a real challenge for us as we are seniors. Quebec City is very hilly. We took city buses but we do know our way around as we have lived in Quebec before. They only take exact change so you need an app on your phone or a pass which was the option we chose. The on off bus isn't a great option. It doesn't come around very often and it doesn't make that many stops. |So, you can expect a very enjoyable stay. But look closely at the location of the hotel before you make your choice.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! My family stayed here when visiting and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience. They had trouble accessing the parking garage every time they were in and out and it was one problem after another. Not a well kept property on the part of the ownership. The wonderful workers of this hotel have been on strike for months, and are pretty much the only remaining hospitality staff in the area that have not reached a negotiation deal. These people work hard and deserve adequate wages. It’s an embarrassment that the ownership of this establishment does not care about the people who work there. Management will not tell you about this strike until days before your arrival despite it having gone on for months. Please avoid this hotel until it learns to pay their staff accordingly, you will not have a good experience.

Stayed at hotel December 2024. Due to strike no daily room cleaning and restaurant wasn't open. Breakfast was muffins, yogurt, tea coffee and fruits(minimal). I drove a truck wasn't able to park in hotel garage because ceiling was too low. I parked across the road in a parking garage and went back and forth to hotel which was inconvenient. No price reductions due to reduced services. To make it easier for guests during strike due to reduced services hotel should make microwaves and garbage bins accessible .

This hotel is awesome. The bed was incredibly comfortable with clean linens. Housekeeping did a great job. Conveniently located to nice little cafes and only a 20 minute walk to the Old City (Quebec). Front desk was nice. The concierge (Jacques) was extremely helpful with booking a taxi and suggesting places to visit. He took his time with all those who came to him and he helped make our visit fantastic. Will be back!

I actually did not go to this hotel but had reservations for a 3 night stay. Two days before we were to arrive, I got an email from the hotel saying they were on strike and they had no services - apparently almost no staff. No food, maids, etc. I then spent some time of my vacation trying to find another Marriott as we're reward members, but was unable to. I ended up paying for another non-Marriott hotel, and I felt I should be compensated with at least some points for the hassle and time spent having to quickly find accommodations. I filed a case with Marriott who said they would contact the hotel. The hotel refused to give me any compensation for the trouble they caused. That did not surprise me. Some people in Quebec told me that the hotel had been on strike for about two weeks, so whoever owns the franchise was obviously not making any money. I then felt Marriott should compensate me in some way, as they have responsibility for their franchisee's standards. Marriott also declined. Not a great experience with Marriott or Hotel Pur. I also wonder why Hotel Pur's staff decided to strike.

Google
It was a very nice marriott! There's a pool table in the lobby, we didn't get to use it, but could have been fun. The restaurant is great for all dining experiences and had a great choice of cocktails. I never expected to eat amazing oysters and steak tartare in a hotel dining room.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel PUR and had three comfortable nights here in Quebec late August 2024. Note that PUR is a bit far of a walk to get to the main tourists area. Plus, we didn't know about all the inclines we had to do when booking this hotel. But since we were eating so much on this trip, it was good to get our steps in. The hotel is very modern and clean. The staff are friendly, patience, and helpful. We don't speak French, but everyone had a smile whenever we had questions during our stay. The fireplace in the lobby was a nice touch along with the fruit flavored water refilled. They were helpful whenever we need directions, and helped us grab a taxi in the early morning of our checkout. We did not require the housekeeping service during our stay. If you don't mind the walk, I would recommend staying here.

Yelp
Great place to visit if other better located hotels are booked or too expensive. We've stayed here twice and loved it. Self parking is $24 and very convenient. It's easy to go in and out. The room is small but modern and well designed. The glass window allows for plenty of light. The bed is very comfortable. There are plenty of neat restaurants nearby the hotel that aren't too touristy. If you want to go to the 'city' (rue saint-Jean) there is a long flight of stairs, or elevator, about a 3 minute walk away. Once you walk up the hill, you will be at Le Bilig restaurant. This will be your landmark so you know where to turn to return to the hotel. There is a Cafe Van Houtte on the ground level of the hotel. Great coffee! Don't bother paying for the hotel breakfast, go to Van Houte!

Yelp
On the first day there was a knock on the door while we were taking a nap. I believe the door was opened as well, but we had the safety latch on. Shortly after there was a knock again. We were given a welcome gift- sparkling water and chips. While it's appreciated, I rather have an uninterrupted nap. Before heading out the next day, we had placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign outside our door. We didn't want housekeeping to come in while we were away. But housekeeping came and cleaned the bathroom and emptied our trash. We had a pleasant stay overall though. The room is comfortable and has a floor-to-ceiling window. There is a mural on one of the walls. The bathroom has a lot of space to place everything, but the shower head could be improved. A la carte breakfast at the restaurant was a bonus.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, in a nice area,, : note , there are some homeless in the area, but were not an issue at all.. nice restaurant in the area,, good bars and some not so good.. you know who you are!! As for Quebec City,, not so clean. Sidewalk are dirty and disgusting.. litter all over.. the hotel is clean... the parking is reasonable,, low clearance in parking garage.. suv with stuff on roof rack maybe an issue!

Yelp
SO and I stayed here for four days this week for a little vacation in Quebec City. We had no complaints about the room, which was clean, nor the service, which was attentive! Parking was about $19 US a day and you can come and go as you please. The breakfast is a choice of either a buffet or a breakfast menu. We chose from the menu on the 1st day (eggs benedict for SO and I had 2 eggs over easy, toast, sausage links, a hash made of strands of potato and onion) which was great but took a tad bit longer to get to us than expected, so we had the buffet on the remaining days. The buffet is above average (scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage links, bacon, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, various juices, coffee and it's all unlimited!). Note, there are a lot of homeless within a 5-6 block radius, but they don't bother you.

Yelp
Originally, I gave Pur Hotel 1 star b/c we arrived at 1pm and didn't check in until 6pm. Miscommunication is a bi0tch. Front desk told us our room will be ready around 3pm so I figured, couple hours, not so bad. While waiting, I noticed a self serving wine fridge and all I needed was a card from front desk to access it--and choosing a $25 card or 50 card that they'll refill if need be. If I knew we'd wait until 6pm, I would not have gotten the card for warm white wine. We also walked around to find a quick bite and ended up at a spot for bar food. Fast forwarding to 6pm, we finally got our room keys and they comped us one night, so we only paid for three nights instead of four. They also comped us the $50 wine card. Sometimes speaking up will get you want you want and deserve. The hotel lobby was clean an smelled really nice. Hotel lobby bathrooms were bright and spacious. The lobby also had a pool table and you just have to ask front desk for the pool sticks and balls. They definitely need to replace their pool sticks though b/c it was fixed with duct tape. I'd stay there if we return to Quebec City and hopefully this time, they'll give us a better estimate of how long the wait shall be.

Yelp
In brief--Do not stay here! The hotel receptionist is rude and does not speak English well. They put me in the wrong (and worse) room, but I was too tired to argue/switch rooms. The room was small and not very good at noise reduction. You can hear people on the hallway and next doors. The only upside is the shower, which is very nice and warm. The location is far away from the main tourist attractions (20min walk is normally not too bad, but it's all up hill and icy roads in winter). The parking lot is small and can get full at night. You are not guaranteed a parking space even if you are a hotel guest.

Mark Y.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. They upgraded us to a room on the 17th floor looking across the street at the front of the cathedral, a gorgeous view. We were able to see up to Château Frontenac from there as well as a number of the gates through the fortification wall. A short walk from old city. Parking was very easy and reasonable. The room was lovely, a layout unique to any I've ever seen. But the highlight of the entire experience, was their concierge, Denis Bouchard. A retired teacher, I believe, he has also worked as a tour guide, and it shows: we simply asked him if there were any neighborhood where we should avoid walking, and didn't he open up a map and proceed to lay out a beautiful walking tour of old Quebec, tell us a number of the sites to see, explain things, and tantalize us with insights into a whole bunch of the sites. He suggested a strategy for the steep climb up onto the upper old city, versus a wonderful path to take through the lower old city. Very enthusiastic, authoritative in his knowledge and efficient in its delivery. We cannot thank this gentleman enough for showing his love of this beautiful, special, historic city, and profound knowledge of its singular history in the western hemisphere. I didn't want to get in the way of other guests who needed his services, otherwise I would've enjoyed chatting with him for an hour! He refreshed my memory of North American history and brought it to life with all the ways in which it interacts with Quebec. It was a real treasure meeting him. It was simply a long weekend getaway, but I wound up wishing we had another day or two to spend in Quebec City and the surrounding area.

Cheri Y.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel! The concierge, Jacques Langlouis, spoke perfect English and was extremely helpful! He went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience in Quebec. He made our stay exceptional.

Raymond D.

Yelp
Perfect location. Room quiet and clean. Service was also very good. I recommend pur for your stay in Quebec City.

Andrew N.

Yelp
Great value for the price. First time visiting Quebec, it was a solid location and walking distance from everything. Great view of the church behind the hotel and the hills in the distance. Avoid the restaurant on-site, the food was sub-par and there are plenty of better options nearby (most of which are on the same street). Sauna, pool, and gym were pretty average, but overall clean. Staff was friendly & accommodating.

Alex L.

Yelp
A great stay at Hotel PUR with a few hiccups. Staff was kind upon checkin and it was painless. There is a pool table in the lobby and play is free, which is neat. We were upgraded to a top floor with a nice view. The room itself was comfortable with a Nespresso machine, TV and a comfortable bed and stand-in shower. The hotel also has a sauna and a nice pool for swimming laps. -1 star for excessive parking fees and giving us wrong information. Parking was $25/day. We asked about alternate options and we were told street parking may be free on weekends. We took them on their word or maybe misunderstood and got a ticket the next day. $53 CDN. Ouch! Turns out -- weekends you still need to pay after 10am. On checkout, they also said we had some charges from the restaurant but we didn't order anything. They waived them, but I'm glad I checked. Not sure why our room # got recorded there, but that was fixed. All in all, comfortable bed and great stay - I'd definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
I was debating between 2 stars and 3 stars. Positives: 1) The actual room was nice with a great view. 2) The location was good walking distance to old Quebec and other sights and restaurants Negatives: 1) The air conditioner was terribly loud. 2) The walls were so thin and we could hear the people in the room next door 3) The hotel restaurant was not good and way overpriced (for menu breakfast at least, we didn't try the breakfast buffet or dinner) Neither positive nor negative but just a bit weird/different: 1) The bed wasn't made with a fitted sheet but just with a regular flat sheet to act as a fitted sheet and it came untucked at parts fairly easily 2) The shower is nice but it doesn't have a door so it's just a half glass door without a door to close off the other side. It doesn't get the bathroom floor wet like I was expecting, but just odd. All in all, it was fine. But I'd stay somewhere else next time.

Yelp
This hotel was my first stop in Canada. My favorite out of all the hotels I had stayed at during my visit to Canada. All the staff members were professional, warm and welcoming. It felt right at home. The lobby has a nice communal pool table and internet usage, for free. Some amenities include a small swimming pool and a small 24/7 fitness room. The hotel was in a good area where I can walk to local landmarks. There's a coffee shop right in front, a Canadian restaurant in the back.

Yelp
Hotel Pur will hold a small part in my heart when it comes to Québec City. This hotel is where I stayed during my first trip to Québec City one year ago (08.5.2015-08.10.2015). When we arrived to Hotel Pur my first thought was that the architecture of the hotel was beautiful from the outside- looking very sleek and makes a statement in the neighborhood that is for sure. The lobby is modern and there is a sitting area if you are waiting for people who are up in their room. I was nervous checking in because it was my first time traveling without my parents and you just never know about how a hotel check-in will go. But it went smoothly! (thank the travel gods). We took our keys and headed to the elevator to our room that we would call home for the next few days. The first thing I remember noticing once stepping off of the elevator was how dark the hallways seemed to be. We got a room with a king bed, and we were just giddy just for the fact we convinced our parents to allow us to go. The room was beautiful and even though our view was toward an office building and facing upwards towards Hôtel Le Concorde the view was absolutely stunning to take in at night. That is one thing I miss greatly of that room. The room itself had the basic necessities which was great, and the bed was extremely comfy which was another plus. We didn't really know what we wanted to do while we were in Québec City so meeting the concierge Jacque was a lifesaver. Jacque and the other concierges were not only beyond helpful with recommendations but they felt like friends each time we would see them whether it was morning or night - coming or going. Without their suggestions I don't think my best friend and I would have fallen so deeply in love with the city as we did. Cannot wait to stay at Hotel Pur again, the only reason I did not stay there during my last visit to Québec was because I heard they were under construction and I wasn't sure where my car would go. However I already know that my next visit to Québec I will be re-visiting Hotel Pur. Please note that this hotel is about a 25 minute walk from Old Québec, 5 minutes by cab. So keep that in mind while booking this hotel - however also know you are getting Grade A service at Hotel Pur.

Claudia L.

Yelp
We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel PUR - it has a modern yet inviting vibe and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed by the Table (hotel restaurant) staff - some of the friendliest hotel staff I've ever come across! Merci tout le monde!

Teena D.

Yelp
The company I work for had a sales conference in Quebec City this week and we stayed at the Hotel PUR. It was the funkiest room I've stayed in. Though the bed was comfortable, I felt like I was sleeping in a pullout sofabed. Alas, there was no bathtub but the walk-in shower was huge. WIFI was free and it was fairly speedy (FireFox was faster than IE). I don't drink coffee but apparently there was a coffee and espresso maker in the lobby (it was free). There was a small fridge in the room. The shower pressure was wicked (yay!) and there were Aveda products. There was no fan, though, in the bathroom so when I showered, the bathroom mirror and the room's window fogged up (I showered with the bathroom door open). It is about a 15 minute walk to Old Quebec City. There are other hotels closer to Old Quebec City ... if the cost of those was a lot more than here, I'd stay here again. If they are comparable, I'd stay closer to Old Quebec City (nothing against this hotel).

Frank A.

Yelp
PUR is a modern hotel with beautifully appointed and spacious updated rooms. Front desk staff were a pleasure on check-in and Table restaurant was perfect for family breakfast. Great Quebec location with lots of shops. Enjoy your stay.

Sara W.

Yelp
I liked this place. Clean room, comfy bed....Decent Location for walking to some things. The view was spectacular. ORdering room service was a treat as there was a noted language barrier...Impressed that the server came to our room to discuss the options he was confused on.

Krysta L.

Yelp
I've been to many hotels but this is probably one of my least favourites. The lobby and entrance look nice - they definitely tried hard to be modern and stylish. A lot of black, white & grey everywhere. Valet man, front desk and all other staff we encountered were very nice. The upper floors weren't so nice, though. Going onto our floor, we noticed the eerie feel of the dimly-lit hallways. The dark grey walls and doors with the orange room numbers felt more like a prison or haunted asylum than a hotel. Room was nice, but small. Pretty good view of Quebec, minus the construction across the street. TV didn't work upon entering the room but only required a quick fix from a very sweet member of the maintenance team. Feather pillows on the beds were about 3/4 of the size of normal pillows and there was only about one per person. The bathroom was very disappointing. No bathtub, just a shower with a glass wall and no door. It was impossible to shower without getting water all over the floor. Also, the lighting in the entire bathroom was very dim. Overall, the only fine points of the hotel were the view and staff. The free wifi often stopped working, would almost rather pay for wifi than have to deal with that. Didn't try the restaurant due to the reviews. Wouldn't visit again.

Thaina E.

Yelp
Such a nice and modern hotel in the heart of Quebec. I had the chance of spending a night there and I was not disappointed. The room I was in was beautiful, spacious with the bed looking out of the window. As a foodie, I was quickly joined by a friend at their restaurant "Table" , and even during the snowiest of days, being inside the restaurant, looking out the window was magical. Our server was amazing, very punctual but also give us enough space to enjoy our conversations. We started off with just a few drinks & appetizers, then we moved from the "lounge" feel area to a table where we ordered our main dish, we started off with off course their calamari! So yummy! And while we waiting for our main dish we also had this bowl of hummus with this nice crunchy/thin pita bread. For the main dish, I had their crab pop mac & cheese, while my friend had their shrimp linguini-really filling and finished it off with coffee. We must have spent about 4 hours chatting and just eating and the staff made us feel so welcome and at home. If you're visiting Quebec and are considering a hotel, I recommend PUR. Enjoy!

Jo N.

Yelp
Nice hotel. The lobby was very simple. It was kinda difficult to find at night due to all the construction going on around the street. The rooms have a really nice interior. It was pretty impressive. The rooms were modern looking. It was clean and pretty spacious. The beds were not crammed into the room. There was plenty of walking space. The washroom was pretty clean. However, the shower was kind of weak. The water wasn't too consistent. It was really spread out. Overall, my stay here was pretty good. But there are a few problems. The shampoo and conditioner they provided made my hair extremely dry and tangly. The hotel staff did not let me park in the underground parking because my car was "too tall to fit by 2 inches" apparently. But my car is just a full size SUV, not sure how short their garage is. But I thought there was a standard clearance height. Besides that, when picking up our car. My boyfriend went to the washroom so he gave me the ticket. The valet guy came around and I passed him the ticket to retrieve my car. But he wouldn't give me my car keys and took my ticket too..... obviously I'm not trying to steal the car if I have the ticket. The last thing I did not like about this hotel is that there is still on going construction inside the building. You can hear drilling and banging in the morning. Other than that, this hotel is pretty nice. Would recommend it if the construction is finished.

Risa D.

Yelp
Well I did like the room, especially the bathroom with its black tiles and big shower, and the giant firm but comfy bed and the floor to ceiling windows. The wifi was free and solid and the staff I met were very nice. I agree with a previous reviewer who noticed they were often overwhelmed and not by a lot of people. We were 3 just trying to check out and it took too long and too many people to finally figure it out. More of a negative for me is the look of the lobby. It's all white and black and plasticky in a way that looks like the 90s idea of modern. Garish and kinda cheap.

Melissa C.

Yelp
This modern hotel is located in downtown Québec which is convenient because you're so close to hip vintage shops and restaurants. The staff is nice and welcoming. They're bilingual so you don't need to worry about speaking French, but its a good way to practice. When you reach your floor, you'll notice the dark hallways, not because of the lighting but the walls are painted black, decoratively not appealing. The rooms are quite modern with large windows. Depending where your room is located, you can get some beautiful views of the city. The beds are super comfortable, but I wished the pillows were a bit firmer. You do get four pillows on their king size bed, so you can layer it up. The washrooms are clean, but the lighting is so dim, that it was hard to do my makeup. I loved their closet because it's a big mirrored door that is flushed to the wall. When you find that secret door, it opens up into a large closet. The room also has a small fridge. I'm not a fan of their heating/air conditioning system. Especially when it's winter and you're expecting mostly heat, but you're getting cold air as well. I woke up with a stuffy nose. Hence the three star review. But if you're here for only a night or two, it's tolerable.

Sally L.

Yelp
This place has the best staff! They are the friendliest and most helpful! That alone deserves 10 stars. Everyone here is sooo helpful and friendly (and cute)! the hotel is right in the heart of down town... everything around here seems walkable! The hotel oversees the city and the give the finest (and yummmiest) chocolates! And i don't even like chocolate! i saw that a few people complained it looks ikea-ish... it looks very modern and trendy.... not cluttered but everything you need is here! The rooms are very roomy and spacious... the only negative was that i didn't there was alot of lights in the room at night... it not dark.. just looks cool enough to still not be bothered =) the 24hr free coffee/espresso/latte machine is a huge plus!!! they also have free wi-fi and the amenities are available too for free unlike the places in Vegas...(booo) love this place i recommend it and more.... this should be the place to stay if you are staying in quebec!

Sean W.

Yelp
Best place to stay in Quebec. Friendly, large room with king bed, fridge, clock, chaise lounge, large bathroom, huge shower, very quiet, huge heated swimming pool, ample towels, complimentary coffee+tea+late+cappuccino 24 hours and dog friendly. The only thing was the WIFI, a bit slow, but this is very common my travels throughout Canada. Don't let the complainers fool you by the hotel is far. Sure you must walk the stairs to be center, but that is the fun & charm of getting to know a city.

Yili M.

Yelp
I was visiting Quebec and staying here for 2 nights. I got a nice view room but don't really like the hotel overall! I am a SPG Pt member! First They didn't allow me early check in, and advise the earliest check in is 3pm! Also they didn't really upgrade my room nor welcome snack ! When I check in they told me there is no breakfast provide, I have to use my points! That really suck! Then speak of the room: one of the bed sheet has dirt on it! No robe in the room! Etc... I love this city but won't give this hotel another chance!

Kit C.

Yelp
So pleased! Surprised at the few nitpickers in some comments. Easy check in, barring the possibility of a line which we saw on the way out later (but this CAN happen!). Clean, comfortable boutique like rooms. (We are here with parents 60th anniversary!) we have a room on the 15th floor with 'church view! Spectacular view of waterfront to as skyline is relatively speaking, low. Friendly staff both outside at curbside and check in at front desk. Great neighborhood!

Sam M.

Yelp
Spacious and modern hotel outside Vieux Quebec. The lobby is super modern with a pool table and seating area. There is a coffee shop and restaurant connected through the main lobby. Parking is a bit expensive, at $25 plus tax per night. Rooms were decent. Nothing spectacular but also nothing wrong with them. I wish that the tv's were equipped with optional movies to order for a charge or even Netflix. The WiFi provided was very slow and not the greatest. Keep in mind this hotel is not in the "tourist" area. It is outside the walls of Vieux Quebec, and the walk to this area is uphill. This area seems to be a hipster/student area so there are a few affordable food options around. Next time I will return to Quebec City, I will probably opt for a hotel closer to Vieux Quebec, to be closer to the tourist attractions.

Renee M.

Yelp
They're pet friendly! It's across the Street from a Library...that alone makes it a winner in my book. Additionally, it has a big beautiful church behind it, a bubble tea shop beside it, and a decent restaurant inside it. It's trendy. It's beautiful. The staff is kind and professional. It's near the hot spots. It's affordable. There's a wine vending machine! Let me say that again. A machine, that dispenses wine! I do a lot of travel professionally and personally. I'd be writing all day if I reviewed every hotel. I usually only recommend cute little botique hotels but for a larger place, this tops my list.

Derwei C.

Yelp
I am rating this low due to the fact that we were put in a room in a hallway that was still currently undergoing renovation. We checked in a little late at night and headed up to the room to sleep for the night. Very early the next morning we woke to the sounds of construction going on in the hallway and the room beside us. We were tired so we ignored it and tried to sleep through it. When we finally got ready to leave, the hallway outside was a construction site. They were sanding the walls and had a plastic curtain placed at the end of the hall to keep the dust from the sanding contained. So this rating is due to the fact that they placed us in the room. The other things I didn't like were that the elevators took forever. I waited a good 5-10mins for one once. And lastly I'm not a fan of valet parking. However I do think this is a good hotel, and all of the issues I laid out above would be resolved once renovations are done. The room was nicely laid out, everything was clean and comfortable. There was a nice view of the church from our giant floor to ceiling window. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful and it was in a very nice and convenient area. Good for walking around. (Although a little far from old Quebec City, but doable).

Yelp
Pluses, new clean and nice staff. Minuses, design of rooms is very poor, for some it's a sharp look but not functional Had the best suite, no door on bedroom bath and a smoked glass will to see the shower, that is mostly open so no heat is retained. All the water faucets and shower faucet were very bad, and the sinks all shallow spraying water everywhere. The guy that designed the rooms should be thrown off the roof of the building.

Yelp
2 night stay. Was surprised about this hotel - didn't feel it was part of SPG. It was on the Marriott side of the family. Entering the lobby was tricky as cars were coming in and going underground for parking. Which cost $25 per night plus tax. Warning: the hot shower becomes SCALDING hot when someone flushes the toilet. It's unbelievable. Even more so, it was deemed acceptable by the manager, who asked that we do not flush the toilet or use the sink when someone is showering. Not much to do at night near the hotel nor places to eat. Had to go back to the main tourist area.

Yelp
Horrible. Like a dorm room. The only thing we liked was the people and the shower. I can't believe we paid to stay here. Makes me angry.

Yelp
Hotel pur is a great option for a modern type boutique hotel outside of the old part of town. It is located in an up and coming part of town that has quite a few local neighborhood gems food wise. Clean lines, the hotel appeals to those who have a modern sensibility for design. The hotel offers free coffee (cappuccino, cafe au lait, etc) out of a cool Italian style self serve coffee machine. Also available are English breakfast and earl grey for tea lovers. Free wifi is a definite bonus here! Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hallways are a bit dark and the bathroom lighting leaves a bit to be desired, but all in all we loved the stay.

Yelp
Chic, comfortable, great location. Ranks 5 star for service: Jacques the bellman extraordinarily helpful with points of interest.

Yelp
Odd hotel in a very funky area of Quebec City that is St Roch. I declare the hotel very odd for a number of reasons 1) the lobby is very modern but seems like it was not well planned as there is lots of dead space. 2) The hallways leading up to the room are very dark and not well lit. Like you are entering a haunted house. I did however have a nice room with a view of the cathedral and the room was very modern and had an amazing huge window! This was the saving grace. The bed was nice and comfy so this made up for the odd layout. The hotel was currently under construction so there was quite a bit of noise in the morning. 3) The elevators seemed like you would wait forever when going down or coming up. I heard a few others complain about this as well! The last thing to mention is the shower head in my room had the saddest situation where water was spraying everywhere in lots of directions. A good glass of CLR (calcium, lime and rust remover would do they job!!) The parking was not useable as it was being renovated a minor inconvenience. Let's hope the renos are going to turn out well! I do love the location and the beds were nice so I'll give this place another try!

Yelp
The decor is cold and bare. I thought it was under construction when we arrived, but realized it was the design (the lobby has a cement floor and a bench to sit on - that's about it! It was the only place open, so we had no choice. The room was basic - like a Motel 6 redone with IKEA furniture. The view, on the other hand, was very nice. We were on the top floor, and had a spectacular view of the city. There was a super-LOUD party in the room next to us. There was NO sound insulation. It really sounded like the door was paper-thin, almost like the party was in our own room. The hotel staff did nothing to help. It was horrible. It was $220 or something, so I had hoped for something decent. The next night, we stayed at the Lowes in Montreal for $230, and it was exceptionally nice, quiet, luxurious, ahhhhh... totally different than the Hotel Pur. I'm giving 2 stars, because at least it was clean, and livable (I reserve 1 star for the most horrible experiences).

Yelp
Loved it here.. It was clean and service was great! We had a little hiccup while we were there but by the time I had gone down to the front desk and back upstairs they had already apologized to my husband and sent us a dessert to the room. It was such a minor gesture but it's something small like that which makes me want to return to this hotel, to me that is great customer service.

Yelp
Beautiful rooms, but no hot water! 2nd day in a row. It is -30 degree C outside and we have not been able to take a shower. We were told at the front desk yesterday that they were addressing the issue. We are told by one person at front desk today that they are trying to address the issue. Another person says since today is Saturday, will be hard to find a technician.

Yelp
I had to admit I was nervous about staying here because it was the only hotel with rooms available in the city last minute, and, it was only like $110USD per night. But with that being said, I was pleasantly surprised. This place kind of reminds me of the Line hotel in LA which goes for like $300 a night. The king bed was real comfortable, facing a beautiful church, the breakfast was awesome, and the place was super clean. The poll was clean with a really nice attendant/lifeguard who gave us tips of places to eat. The gym was kind of wack though, and there were kureig coffee makers in the room which I can't stand, but that's all minor when you're on vacay and there's great coffee spots all around. Quebec is beautiful, I just wish it was closer to home.

Yelp
I really loved the style of this hotel, and found it to be a great experience, especially for the price. My room had a wonderfully comfortable queen bed facing a floor-to-ceiling window facing north. I got to just leave the curtains open, as there were no surrounding buildings and no direct sunlight. The bathroom was also very nice, with a very deep tub. There is a free cappuccino machine in the lobby, a restaurant, as well as a small sandwich shop right next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides free Wi-Fi, has a nice swimming pool (I'm guessing about 20yrds in length, 3-4 lanes) and an equally nice exercise room facing towards the pool. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
We had a great stay at Hotel Pur on a recent trip to Quebec City. The hotel and its rooms are stylishly designed, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and refreshing, and the staff was friendly. Free wi-fi was also a plus. The rates, which we got through a third-party website, were very good and much less than you would pay in the old town. There is no coffee maker in the room, but they have a automatic espresso machine in the lobby which unfortunately produced a bland brew--with all the great cafes nearby though, we did not go through caffeine withdrawal. I also used the gym which was small but well equipped (and empty)...there is also a pool on the gym floor. We also really liked the surrounding area, which is a small student-filled neighborhood filled with interesting shops (bookstores, clothing shops, etc.), good restaurants and cafes, and even a microbrewery. It is a bit of a hike to most of Quebec City's attractions which are centered around the old town and in the park, but was worth it to stay in a less-touristed location.

Yelp
The room the view the tub were outstanding. The location was great too. Otherwise it was a hotel as is any other hotel. Major complaint the wifi sucked so bad I had to go to a cafe to get any work done.

Yelp
For a boutique hotel, the price is definitely right. The room we had was gorgeous, King bed with a huge window facing North. Free coffee? Awesome. Free wifi? Awesomer. Prices were pretty good on room service, considering it is still room service. Nice decor, both in the lobby and the rooms. Staff was helpful and very bilingual, so my boyfriend could understand. Valet is $19/day, which is steep, but you have free access to your car (no extra charges). A great getaway close to the Old City!

Yelp
The staff were excellent. But there were not enough people working. There was often a line. The coffee machine had trouble in the morning because it would get empty and there was no one there to help. Water in the lobby would have been nice. The rooms and lobby are very modern and not too new, a bit scratched and beat up. Not terrible, but I think that kind of wear shows really in modern furniture. The really bad thing about the hotel was that the parking was really inconvenient. We were in and out of the garage and the entrance was often temporarily blocked by other guests loading and unloading. I would stay again if we were there for another reason. As a tourist, I would stay closer to old city next time.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! Room is very modern, clean & comfortable. The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful & friendly.

Yelp
I can't say enough about how comfortable and quiet this hotel is. As Starwood members it was our first choice and a great one at that!! We are world travelers and this hotel is by far one of the most comfortable, service oriented hotels we've stayed in!! A 15 min walk to the old city or park your car in their convenient on site garage and drive anywhere. QC is an easy city to navigate, parking was plentiful and not at all expensive ( a few $$'s for a few hours). I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful, restful and conveniently located hotel.

Yelp
Not kid friendly. The hotel is modern and hip looking but not kid friendly at all. No microwave in the room, being alone I had to put my kids in the stroller to heat up their dinner at the front lobby. The pool doesn't have wheelchair access so taking the stroller was difficult. The rooms are small. It's a very over priced hotel, and would recommend for a family with young kids. The staff was all very nice.
