Wifi is not usable and we have no access to mobile connection in hotel room. When we complained about it, their reply is the problem lies with our Apple phones. The problem is that we cannot use the wifi connected for our room. When they said we can change the room with higher price, we can use their wifi in that expensive room but not in our 120,000MMK room. Thanks for the excellent management and service. Absolutely not recommend to stay this hotel until you have no alternative option.

We came here a few times for dinner at the rooftop bar and restaurant. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The drinks are also fine. I like their fresh juices. They don't cheat, at least. The service is great! We tried their swimming pool as well. It's a nice one if you don't come on a holiday. We never stayed at the hotel itself but will do soon just to check out their rooms.

I was very happy to stay at the hotel. The staff were the highlight, very helpful and friendly. I received great recommendations on where to go, shop, eat and sightsee, and they were even able let me check out late. Thank you for a great time, I feel refreshed having stayed here :)||||The bed was nicely firm, and the pillows were good, bedding was OK. Bathroom quality is much better than expected for Myanmar, and the building has pleasant city views. Bike rental was free and good enough. Rooms are bright and well air-conditioned, and the blackout curtains are good. ||Thanks again!

I have to agree with the observations of the poster below. An excellent choice in Mandalay.||||I have stayed 4 times over the last 4 years, each time staying between 4 and 7 nights. When travelling with my wife we pay that little extra for a Queen Suite. They are spacious, well furnished and a great choice. In February, when I was by myself on business (starting a little importing), I took a Superior room for 7 nights which was perfect with a good desk to do some work and their Wi-Fi is also quite good. ||||I should remark on some of the previous reviews. The complaint about the loud disco was for Valentine’s Day! The Sky View bar is normally quite sedate and perfect for a nightcap. I have never had a problem with the hot water. The “Horror Visit” review is definitely not this hotel. The reception is on the ground floor on a main road, not an alley, and with a doorman always in attendance. ||||I really like the location. There is a good beer station on the corner of 32nd street, the “Golden Spider”, they do a great dried goat salad, ‘set dah chow’, which is a perfect accompaniment to a few beers. A couple of blocks down you have “Aye Myit Tar” a superb traditional Burmese curry restaurant and another block further “Super 81” with Chinese BBQ on the ground floor, an air-con room on the 1st floor and open air rooftop further up, all offering their excellent a la carte Chinese food. And this is all for a bit of variation on the great food at the Queen’s own restaurant. ||||I would have no hesitation recommending the Queen to any one visiting Mandalay, in fact my wife and her sister are be checking in tomorrow for 4 nights.

I'm based in Thailand and have been visiting Mandalay at least twice a year for the past decade plus. I tried several other hotels before finally discovering the Hotel Queen on 81st Street. I like the location, but more importantly I like everything about the hotel. The rooms are reasonably priced, coming with working AC, hot water (something that some hotels are lacking!), a good choice of cable TV channels, and that all important generator (for the times when the power goes out --- still a frequent happening in Myanmar!).||||In addition to those factors, the staff at hotel are fabulous. The workers at the front desk are always very polite and helpful, and the guy in charge of housekeeping and room service, Kyaw Zin Tun, always goes out of his way to make sure that my requests are handled. Kudos also to the restaurant on the top floor. They offer a very good buffet breakfast. I'm not one of those Westerners that like a Western breakfast (hey, I'm in Myanmar, I want to eat the local food!) so appreciate the range of noodles and rice dishes, especially their excellent monhinga. Very tasty! I've also dined there for lunch and breakfast and the entrée dishes are also of very high quality. They also have a very good band that plays there in the evening. ||||What more can I say about this fine hotel? They offer free bicycle rentals to guests, have wi-fi in the rooms (or a computer downstairs that you can use), have a travel agent with money exchange service in the lobby, and offer the sort of friendly personal service that is so common in Myanmar. The Hotel Queen honestly feels like a home away from home.

Good deal for the price. Large room with clean sheets on firm mattress. Water in shower takes a while to heat up. Big free breakfast buffet is quite good and has real coffee. The parking is in front of hotel with a security guard. Many staff speak English and all are friendly and helpful.

My husband and I usually stay at more budget type accommodations but I had my 75 year old father in law with us, so we needed something nicer and more comfortable. Hotel Queen was a very nice choice. We had a simple double room that was more than adequate and my father in law had a suite which was quite large and nicely furnished. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the hot water was plentiful. They have a nice restaurant on top and they serve a great breakfast buffet. I especially liked the ever changing noodle station. Wifi is pretty standard for Myanmar. The location is good, there is a really great traditional Myanmar restaurant very close by. We also used their tour services and hired a driver to take us around the area, and also to take us to Si Paw. The prices are very reasonable and I recommend Mr. Nay Win Han as your driver. He is extremely safe and very considerate.

Its quite Okey in here. Rooms are large enough, clean and cool. Customer services are pretty nice (helping, smiling) and its almost free likes back home. Hotel complimentary is very general practical, basically drinking water that's it! Hotel has got it own dinning hall, bar (little bit western style). Oh yes... the bathroom has got separated toilet and shower... but gotta stand on the bathtubs when showering... the view and noise are a bit weird ? I gave it 3 out of 5 stars...
