"This Panarea resort is a luxury accommodation option with a bohemian design scheme, plus panoramic views from the pool deck, open-air restaurant, and music club. It's arguably the most fashionable hotel in the destination, set on the Aeolians’ most fashionable island." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Would not recommend this to anyone. The rooms are dirty and extremely overpriced. I paid 600 euro or night and the rooms don’t even have TV, a safe, prober lock or a phone the can call to the reception. ||Completed 2 times over poor cleaning. They did not do anything about it. Asked for clean towels 3 times, as they were old and had spots/hair on them - not changed once. ||The room was filled with long black hairs (even in the bed)… spots and marks everywhere. ||This hotel seriously needs a restoration and a lift up if it should keep this prize.

It’s difficult to describe how magical this hotel is and it’s even more difficult to look at the pictures and understand the layout of the hotel. The hotel is one of few on the island and it’s built into the cliffside. From every area of the hotel you have incredible views of Stromboli, the erupting volcanic island in the distance. The hotel picks you up from the Ferry via golf cart and takes you to the front desk to check in. The Lobby is situated on the main harbor with the restaurant, bar and discotheque looking out over the ocean. From there they take you in a golf cart through winding streets of beautiful white washed homes and cobblestone streets. Once you’re at the top of the town where the rooms are, you walk through beautiful green pathways to get to your room. There are no hallways or elevators and each room is standing alone built into the cliffside set above the town and looking out at the other islands. The rooms feel incredibly bohemian with incense burning and unique african prints hanging on the walls. The amenities are solid but not as luxurious as a 5 star hotel. That said, you’re paying for the view, the beautiful infinity pool, and unique location. ||||We ate at the restaurant one night which was stunning looking out at Stromboli erupting in the distance. However the food was my least favorite on the island. The highlight was our beautiful balcony, the incredible pool, and sunset Aperitif at the bar with chill house music playing in the background. We did use the concierge services to book a private boat around Stromboli and to make dinner reservations and they were very helpful and efficient.||||This property is definitely not for everyone, especially if you don’t like climbing sets of stairs to get to your room given that there is no elevator and each room is unique. if you don’t know what you’re signing up for. We had a magical time at the hotel and on the island and would go back in a heartbeat.

This is a lovely property but quirky. The reception and restaurant/bar is a 10+ minutes walk from the hotel rooms and pool. The hotel bar is exception offering amazing views. The rooms are unique and situated above the little town perched on the hill. The rooms are clean and tidy with simple furnishings. The rooms and the pool area all need some updates. Everything feels a bit tired and in need of attention. The pool area offers a spectacular view.

I and a large group of family and friends booked a stay at Raya this past August, anticipating a luxurious stay at one of the top resorts in the Aeolian islands. What we got was very different. ||It was impossible to communicate with the hotel. They denied us pool use without warning a few weeks prior to our stay, apparently due to a more important guest wanting to have it to themselves. The rooms, advertised as one of a kind and worthy of the exceptional nightly cost, were small and unremarkable. ||However, the reason I will never return is the staff. After stranding us on the island without the prearranged taxis to transport us and our luggage, I requested to speak to a manager. The staff then discussed amongst themselves in Italian that these tourists would not be speaking to a manager. Our group does understand Italian, and we informed them, in Italian, that we understood their side conversation and would in fact be seeing a manager. We were ignored.||It was a pretty disappointing part of an otherwise wonderful trip to the incredible island of Panarea. I would suggest booking private rental elsewhere on the island should you come to visit.

Best hotel on Panarea. Every element is unique and the setting is stunning. The expansive hotel grounds are covered in flowering well-kept plants, rooms have an elegant eastern flare, the restaurant is excellent, staff are friendly, and the sea water and geothermal pools are incredible. Location is an easy walk to everything on Panarea. If you’re as lucky as we were, the owner, Claude, will pick you up from the port. Thanks Claude!

Good view but many others close by have same amazing view...Service below zero. Some Waiters are really unfriendly. Barman good, cocktails ok, nothing special but overpriced like almost evetything in Panarea. Would not recommend, Cincotta and Lisca Bianca have same nice view and better service.

Loving this Hotel everyone is very accommodating & pleasant. Breakfast and dinner where great. I would highly recommend, the views are amazing and very clean. The only negative thing that for me is it's a far walk to go to the shops, & restaurants because of a bad back I needed to call for a taxi cart to go anywhere so this could get expensive $10 one way. Hope it was helpful.
