We recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The food was a standout — the beef cheeks were beautifully braised, rich and full of flavour, and the zucchini soup was light yet deeply satisfying. The bathroom in our room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, and the service throughout felt attentive and professional. The location is also perfect — it’s just a short walk to the Church of St. John and an easy stroll up the hill for a beautiful sunset view. It’s worth noting: if you read some negative reviews calling staff unfriendly, it’s likely more a matter of local culture than poor service — we felt welcomed and well-looked after without any issues. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent dining.

A Peaceful Retreat with Exceptional Hospitality We had a truly wonderful stay at the hotel . The team was highly professional, yet warm and welcoming, creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The 3/4 pension formula is very well thought-out — offering generous and high-quality meals throughout the day. The food itself is a real highlight: carefully curated, creative, and prepared with fresh local ingredients that reflect the region’s best offerings. The location is ideal for nature lovers. Many hikes can be started directly from the hotel or by taking a nearby bus. At the same time, it’s also convenient for those who prefer to explore the area by car. Our room was extremely quiet and cosy, allowing for restful nights after long days outdoors. And the spa… it actually exceeded the descriptions on the website — beautifully designed, serene, and a perfect way to unwind. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined yet down-to-earth mountain escape.

Staff was wonderful and the food fabulous with fine, innovative and local meals in the evening ! Plus thing: location is ideal if you want to move around this part of the Dolomites and the sauna a welcomed experience after a long day of hiking.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in July 2025 and loved every moment of our stay. The staff—both at reception and in the restaurant—were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options every day. Our room was spotless, and the location is perfect for exploring the stunning Val di Funes.||We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel—it's worth every penny!

If you don't want people to enter your hotel, just put the signs at the main entrance, not in the bushes on the side. If you don't want people to enter your hotel just lock the door. And if someone enters the hotel because the signs are unclear and the door is open, why not be kind and just tell them where the public toilet is located? We thought about staying here for 3 nights but now we are going elsewhere. Edit: No, this is strictly false! At the main entrance, there is no clear sign. There is a sign, as shown here, that the car park is only for the guests. I am a) not a car and b) did not park there. Also it states the times when the restaurant is open. I was not looking for a restaurant, so why should I care about the opening hours of the restaurant? So no, there is NO clear sign. The only sign is at the side entrance, but people walking uphill from the lower car park do not see that sign. Also the way the person talked to me is not acceptable. So, again, put up a sign on both sides and lock the door or stop treating people like they've commited a crime. That is far from being professional. I visit many hotels and places around the globe every year and no one ever treated me like that, no matter if I was a guest or not.

Wanted to visit the restroom, an aggressive employee ran out and started yelling that the restroom was for hotel visitors only. 1) the sign on which this was written was in the bushes and I just didn't see it. 2) The nearest restroom is a 10 minute walk away, when you can't stand it anymore it's a problem. 3) make the toilet pay for 10€ what is the problem? You will make money and the person will be able to not tolerate and do their own thing..... What is the logic is not clear. One star for the frightened guard who almost forcibly pulled me out of the toilet, I hope he will be in a similar situation... I would also like to point out that shifting the focus and blaming the church for YOU not letting people into the restroom does not add to your reputation, perhaps if I had gotten into the restroom at that location and wanted to somehow come back to this valley and stay at your hotel, but now that is definitely not going to happen. You have to think ahead, not narrowly. And it seems the church came before your hotel, I think you built the restaurant and hotel since it's a popular place.

So relaxing and comfortable! We stayed 3 nights and will definitely return. Great location, stunning views, the food is beyond description fantastic - a highlight, in fact, the service just so so wonderful - it felt like coming home and being with good friends! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Our entire experience was outstanding. The rooms were nice with an incredible deck view of the mountains and the food and service was quite good, as we had breakfast and dinner daily. As Americans it is hard to believe that such a good place can be found at this price in one of the prettiest places in the world. Val di Funes is super quaint and there is fantastic hiking right outside the hotel. We highly recommend that you drive to the parking area several miles up the mountain and start your hike there, as you can hike for days from there and there are lots of good huts to have food and beverage. We know we have found a great nontouristy spot when there are no other Americans and that was definitely the case at this hotel and this area. We highly recommend it and hope to return soon.
