A grand old hotel with touches of Art Deco glass panelling.
Unfortunately the air conditioning is poor and, because the bedrooms are large and with high ceilings, it is sweltering through the night. The Atrium and surroundings are really nice but the bedrooms do require maintenance, no doubt a very expensive task.
The roof top bar is good and there is a small stone cupola with a table and four chairs, cool with a light breeze.
Breakfast is ample and their coffee is good (and hot), though no saucers anywhere. Staff are attentive and want to help.
Beware of the offer of their liquour version of Havana rum, it is £12 a shot!!
