Hotel Rathausglöckel

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. We reserved the family suite, which was very, very roomy - one big bed in one area and two separate twins in a separate area - my teens appreciated this extra space after being cramped (and having to share a pull out double bed) so often on our trip. Mattresses were comfortable. The breakfast was a classic German buffet which had lots of fresh food to offer. The staff was lovely. The one point to be considered is that the family suite was on the top floor - requiring navigating two flights of narrow stairs with our suitcases and backpacks. Not a deal breaker at all, but to be considered if you have lousy knees (as I do). Also, there was one window A/C unit, which likely would not be enough to cool the entire space during high heat of summer - but it was fine for us with slightly cooler weather. Overall highly recommend!

This is an old quirky hotel just off the main centre of Baden-Baden in the pedestrian zone, only taxis are allowed in this part. Reception closes at 7.00pm so if you arrive later, they leave the key in the restaurant. We had a double room, a bit small but OK if you are staying just a couple of nights. Any longer and you will need a bigger room with more storage. Good choices for continental breakfast plus eggs cooked any way you want. The dining room/ restaurant is in the same building but under separate management but it all runs very smoothly. Lovely roof terrace where you can eat and drink. The staff are very accommodating and do their best to help. Good English spoken by all, if you need it. Overall a great small place to stay, just a few annoying points which meant the deduction of stars but these did not spoil our stay. I would rate this as a good 3* hotel.

The restaurant in the hotel is very good and is a local institution. The hotel room was really clean and very well appointed - very nice hotel room! The room was very spacious and the shower / hot water etc was superb. The front desk staff were always lovely, chatty and very helpful. If you're driving, there is no parking or waiting in front of the hotel. So you have to quickly jump out, drop off your luggage and then go park your car. However the hotel can arrange parking for you in a parking garage a few mins walk away. Liaise with them for this. Overall it's no issue. It was fine.

Charming hotel in the middle of Baden Baden. Our room was lovely with a very nice view of the city rooftops and the hills. It was quiet even though you can walk to everything from here. Breakfast was very nice and our dinner at the restaurant was quite good. The staff was very accommodating- no language barrier. Would definitely stay here again.

Wow! What a great meal. My wife said it was one of the best meals she’s ever had. It was certainly one of the best in recent times for me. Great service and a well designed menu with something for everyone. The seasoning was spot on and the choice of wine excellent to match the food. It was reasonably priced too! What’s not to like

What a wonder charming authentic hotel. Parking was near by they were very accommodating we booked extra room by mistake and they helped us out. Breakfast buffet was delightful. Close to main streets for shopping restaurants, cafes, spa's. Would definitely come back again. Too short a visit

The most lovely hotel! VERY Spacious rooms and hotel staff were so kind! We did not have a reservation during the Christmas Market Season in December 2024, however they were very accommodating and even let us see the few rooms they had available so we could choose. |The eating area was decorated to very charming!! Very close to the markets area.|Totally recommend!

This is not my first stay here. I was a little disappointed in our room, next to the reception desk, street level. But, we didn't have to drag our bags up the stairs. Wonderful breakfast. I appreciate your response, I had no idea there was a difference in double room categories. Thankyou

Loved this hotel!! The staff are super friendly, they provide a map of the town in English and tips on what to do and when. Quaint and romantic, close to walk to almost every attraction of this beautiful small town. Great shopping and eating within a few steps, 300 ft from the bathhouses. The bed was huge, very firm and the bathroom was spacious with a great shower. Breakfast has a decent selection and the coffee is sehr gut!

Wow The location was good in downtown Baden Baden, near the baths. We were amazed by the quality of the wine list. Lots of local German wines. We got a local white burgundy and a local red The " historical" dishes were phenomenal--especially the sausage and potatoes with cabbage. The staff were warm and professional. I'm very happy here. They took great care of me. I'm writing an article about off-season travel. They gave me great advice and accommodated my severe food allergies. The room was very comfortable and clean. They were extremely respectful. My only complaint would be the wifi. I'm working, so it was a bit of a hassle. The speed was very slow and horribly unreliable. That was not their fault at all, it's just Baden Baden. If you are not working, the wifi is sufficient for light tasks.
