Guide to Italy's Aeolian Islands

"Set in the town of Malfa on the island of Salina, this hotel was once a family home. Today, it's one of the Aeolians’ coziest boutique hotels, with just 14 rooms and epic views of Stromboli and Panarea — especially if you book the honeymoon suite, which has a private corner balcony." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Just come home from ten days at Hotel Ravesi. What a treat it was! Salina is a gorgeous unspoilt simple island, The humidity keeps the flora and fauna green and opulent, despite the lovely hot weather. You can see the whole island in a day on a scooter if you choose, although there is not a huge amount to see apart from the authentic small townships which are still (thankfully) untouched by commercialism. The hotel is beautiful with superlative service. The (numerous) staff are unfailingly polite, respectful, gracious and helpful. Our room (No.17) was spotless and well maintained, as is the rest of the hotel with some lovely communal areas to eat and relax in. I'm a bit surprised they don't have a restaurant for dinner but there are several very close by. The breakfast selection is wonderful with many cakes, tarts and flans baked by the owner herself. Our room had a fridge and a lovely terrace with views over the sea and the sun most of the day. A small supermarket five minutes up the road meant we could eat and drink on our terrace when we chose to 'self-cater'. The infinity pool is wonderful and there were enough sun beds even though we understand the hotel was full. It's a bit of a mission to get to but the staff could honestly not have been more helpful in helping us to arrange our transport from Catania airport. The photo's on line do not do the hotel justice in my opinion. Thoroughly recommended (and we're fussy!).

We had a short but very Beautiful stay. The staff was super attentive and friendly. The rooms and amenities were beautiful - it really feels like you're staying in the family home instead of a hotel. Highly recommend and will come back to visit again! The staff shared the history and the family story behind this hotel which made it even more personal and enjoyable.

A truly special place. The Ravesi family is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is magical.. from the lush garden to the infinity pool with a stunning sea view. Everything is spotless and beautifully curated. You can enjoy breakfast, light lunches, aperitivo, and dinner made with local produce, much of it from their own garden. Cocktails are fantastic, and the wine bar offers daily tastings of excellent Sicilian and local wines. It’s also a great base to explore Salina, with their electric scooters and e-bikes, getting around is super easy. Can’t wait to go back!

Stunning boutique hotel, we stayed here during our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The main highlight of the hotel is the amazing infinity pool with views of the volcano and islands. We stayed in a room with a private terrace overlooking the sea with lovely views. The hotel also arranges a range of activities - we did a boat trip, wine tasting and hired a scooter - all of which were very good. Staff were friendly and very attentive.

A truly special place. From customer service (Thank you Nadia and Lucy) to impeccable gardens this hotel feels like a little bit of paradise. It was an absolute joy to spend a few days here. This place is one of the few places that exceeds the Instagram hype. The breakfast’s here are amazing. We will be back. For my privacy stay in the apartments. If you would like to fully experience the hotel and the gardens stay in the main building. This place is a rare “can’t miss” location.

Hotel Ravesi is an incredible property with incredible people. Everything was spectacular and this is hospitality at its finest. They truly care about every guest and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and taken care of. I want to thank Nadia for all of her help and Michael for a great boat ride. Hope to stay here again.

We spent 5 nights at Hotel Ravesi, and it wasn't enough! The hotel has excellent customer service, everyone is warm and welcoming. The breakfasts are amazing, and if they have ricotta cake you must try it. The grounds are full of flowers and trees, and the area around the infinity pool has a soaring view of the Mediterranean. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Loved staying at this lovely boutique hotel. The location is a great base for exploring the island. The cocktail bar being open all day next to the fabulous infinity pool is inspired in a place that loves siesta! But the thing that really stands out is the discreet attention paid to guests - one example that really impressed was when I was doing my morning stretches next to the pool, one of the staff serving breakfast rapidly appeared with a yoga mat!
