I really enjoyed my stay here! I left valuables in my room and I was extremely nervous and anxious about leaving it in my room for obvious reasons. But nope when I came back it was in the safe and untouched, I slept very good they have huge comfy pillows. I would come again.

Hotel was nice and clean. Food was ok not too bad for your stay. Parking was absolutely horrible it was complimentary but security guards were saving the spots for certain guests. We were not allowed to take them because other guests had “bigger cars” just like ours but had left. We asked multiple times if we had assigned spots or we could save ours as well the security guards told us we couldn’t save it. That was very frustrating and the one down side of ever staying here again.

It should have been an OK stay for us if after an hour after checkout (was already on our way to a flight from San Diego airport) we discovered that we forgot AirPods at the room. We wrote to the email provided by their official site describing situation and asking how can we return our property back. They responded in couple minutes saying "we searched the room but couldn't find your airpods", I sent them screens with location of my AirPods - no further conversation from their side. In an hour in FindMe we saw that our AirPods started traveling around Tijuana. Obviously it was taken by someone from the stuff members. We are not ever gonna stay at this hotel after this incident and do not recommend to anyone. To loose customers who travels to Tijuana a lot for something your will be not be able to sell for more than 100$ is outrageously stupid.

This is such a great find and I only wished I would have found out about this hotel sooner. It's clearly been remodeled and is very modern. The lobby looks amazing and welcoming and the rooms are very spacious and clean. It's really hard to find a good hotel bathroom but they've hit the jackpot! The bathrooms are fully stocked including two sets of disposable slippers (which I've never seen in a hotel before) and two robes. At first the bathroom looks very dark because of the dark tile but it turns out to have really great lighting. The staff here is also amazing and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations for dinner and breakfast nearby. The hotel is also in a very safe area which is great ! I will definitely be staying here the next time I'm in town.

I don't leave zero stars because it doesn't let me. Let me start by saying we have been staying with the same hotel here at Tj for over 25 years - super nice, secure, and we know all the employees. This time my husband said let's try Real del Rio, something different, so we made the reservation over the phone & the representative told us that our room would be reserved with our credit card, which we provided. He confirmed with my husband that our room was reserved for whatever time we arrived. Well, we got there on Valentines day (a really busy weekend), to find out that they didn't have our room booked because our card had supposedly declined. We told the concierge that if there was an issue with the card, why not call us back? And why did they confirm that the payment had gone through and the reservation was set in the first place, along with email confirmation? They shockingly had no answer for us. We traveled over 4 hours just to find out that we no longer had a room, and it being a notoriously busy weekend, the chances of finding another room would be incredibly difficult. It was a horrible first and last experience with them, will never take a chance on dealing with their unprofessional actions.

Great hotel located 35 minute walk from Avenida revolución. The location also has several good restaurants near by and location is pretty safe. I stayed here for two nights and staff was very amicable, respectful and helpful. I recomend this place and would probably stay here next time I come back to Tijuana :)

Check in time is at 3 pm but they let me check in as early as 9 am for a $15 fee . Not bad . I enjoyed my stay here , the staff was friendly. Rooms are clean,cozy ,simple yet modern . Also I did notice The hotel had cameras in the halls and Elevators, it felt secure . They had one restaurant La miel which you are able to send up as room service they had a menu a la carte and a buffet option . The menu I was not very impressed with I ordered an American breakfast and it came with 3 potato diced , perhaps the buffet was better . I ended up going with Uber eats after that breakfast. The walls are a bit thin ,you can definitely hear people walking above you and in the hall, the AC helped zone it out a bit with the white noise . Located on a street with very little traffic so that was good. It's right across a medical building .

I had a great time at this hotel! The staff was very friendly, especially in the restaurant. I don't know a lot of Spanish but one the employees stayed with me to make sure to accommodate me with whatever I needed and translated for me. The room was nice, I did find hair on the sheets when I first checked in... the comforter wasn't what I was expecting either but I didn't mind. The rooftop area is not open yet but it has a really nice view. There's free parking and don't worry if you don't know Spanish the employees all spoke English The staff was absolutely amazing and definitely made it better only down side was the random hairs in my newly checked room. Just ask for fresh sheets just in case

I stayed here when I had plastic surgery with Dr. Alberto Lara (which is conveniently located right behind the hotel) back in September for a week. The hotel was a bit hard to find because it's located on a small side street which wasn't lit very well. But once you're there, it's totally worth the hassle you went through to find it. The staff is incredibly kind and accomodating to your requests and needs. They helped me get a cab to take me to the hospital the morning of my procedure. They have a secured free parking garage with security and an elevator. Everything was super clean from the lobby to my room. Front desk also speaks English and Spanish which was helpful as they were able to communicate with my husband properly. I made the mistake of not booking my stay here on my last trip this past weekend.

This hotel is basically for a quick over night. The beds are medium on the confort level. I would suggest the Junior Suite its the best value. The ac works and they have nice black out curtains with a nice tv. Plenty of room in the room. Unfortunately you can't enjoy them past 12:00pm noon. They have strict policy of kicking people out at 12:00pm noon. I use expedia to reserve my hotels in Tijuana when i travel there, and most of the nice hotels in Tijuana will allow a late check out between 1:00pm & 3:00pm. I brought this to their attention and they didn't seem to care and just said sorry. On a positive note the restaurant has a great breakfast and the staff are warm and friendly and accommodating. Enjoy your travels in Mexico!

The hotel is very clean compared to most others. We got there at 12:30pm the room not ready u til 3pm. I know that is check I'm time but most hotels will check you in.and give u a room at 1or 2 hours early. The staff is polite. Waiting in a lobby for 2 plus hours is not fun. They mentioned they are remodeling well about 4 years ago when we went for the first time they said the same. The traffic in TJ is worse than ever the drive worse than animals. At least animals are disiplined..

I've stayed here before and keep coming back. The rooms have been upgraded and the price range is fair. The restaurant by the lobby "La Miel" is a hidden favorite spot of mine and my mother, we both love and appreciate the home-made flavors their menu offers and the staff is always very accommodating and helpful. Make sure to visit for breakfast.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, ever! The room was clean and recently remodeled. Friendly staff, very secure underground parking. Try their restaurant, the room service was wonderful. And the breakfast was delicious! Very authentic. We forgot toothpaste and the front desk told us that the restaurant carries toiletries for such occasions. They brought it up with our room service dinner of 2 cheese burgers and fries. With fresh squeezed orange juice and chocolate milk. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. There's also a very popular breakfast restaurant next door and a taco stand around the corner that's been there since the early 70s. Also easy access to the roads that take you to the ready lane. Will definitely stay here again!

If you have a car and you want to feel secure about your car through true night, do not stay here. They do not have enough parking . They make it sound like the underground parking is enough for all the guest and you can access your room from there. While there I underground parking it is very small, in realiity if you don't get a spot you have to park outside on the street. Never even paid attention to the room because I was worried about my car all night and ended up not sleeping . Horrible experience. FYI, the don't care, they just want your money. Stay away there hundreds of hotels in RJ with secure onsite parking and security guards.

Their hotel was seemingly nice until it was time to go to bed. THEY HAVE BED BUGS! I'm glad I caught them so early on. Then I checked my roommates mattress and she had them too. We grabbed all our stuff and told the man at the front desk. He didn't seem surprised or like he even cared when I showed him the video. They're aware of this problem and that's disgusting asf to me. If you like bed bugs stay there.

This place is the worst possible place you can find in Tijuana. There is construction in the hotel (yes not next to the hotel, right in the hotel) and they don't tell you about it when you check-in. They say construction is mentioned on the website. Funny. It was noisy since you can hear all the noise. We could not sleep at all, we had headaches after a few hours, the noise was that strong. When I politely asked for another room, they said there is no available room. I checked online bookings, they had many available rooms, they did not want to waste ready rooms obviously. After complaining for a few minutes, they said they can refund the money since I did not want to stay, after all, they said yes. 1 hour after this conversation, I checked out and they said construction started at 7 AM so I had 4-5 hours before 7 AM to sleep. They said they can't refund the money. It was like a huge joke when they said I had 5 hours to sleep before 7 AM. The main elevator is not working, you have to take the service elevator in the construction, it was very unsafe. The receptionist was disrespectful and threatening. Just book another hotel.

This is a clean place, but right now I'm very angry. Around 7:25 am I an woken up by really loud banging noise that does not stop (still hasn't) from right on top of my room. I call the front desk, and very non-chalantly they're like "sorry it's construction" and there is nothing they can do about it apparently. Really? The hotel didn't think of not starting that until at least 9:00 am? Hotels are full of people who are on vacation, and would like to enjoy some peaceful sleep. Can't do that here though! This is really frustrating. Also, the WiFi REALLY sucks. Too slow to be useful.

I was supposed to go to TJ this weekend. When I booked my reservation Covid19 wasn't in USA and it wasn't yet called a pandemic. On March 20th, I requested the property wave the 60 dollar cancellation fee the total booking 67.00. They finally emailed me today. Scandalous business practices. I cannot travel there, if I do I might be under quarantine for 14 days. I'm already following the stay-at-home practice issued by the president and my state's governor. Shame on you, Hotel Real Del Rio in Tijuana, Mexico!

Booked this hotel as a last minute thing, Pretty from the pics online. Overall stay the beds were comfy and the shower are was nice Just want to add when leaving your hotel room make sure you slam your door shut because the door was not closing correctly weird. We came back to the hotel and went to bed. At 6am one of the house keepers walked in without knocking and we woke up to her walking in and she immediately was like "ohh I didn't know anyone was here" like who the fuck says that and who doesn't knock before entering. We had told her yes we are and she was like the door wasn't all the way shut again weird... our check out time was at 11 and the time was not 10 I wanted to shower so I asked for more towels front desk lady Jaqueline was refusing to bring towels because she said we had an hour to get out anyways and if we wanted to extend our time we would have to let them know and I told her I was very aware of our check out times and we still had 1 whole hour left she had a very bad attitude and stated someone will be there in a bit. Towels they brought looks very dirty with brown patches and weird looking stains. I wish I would of taken a picture just to show them and here but I was so annoyed tht I just rather get out because I figured we'll that are they gonna do now nothing we are checking out already they don't care... Checked out at 1050am Wouldn't go there again. Pass... IBIS Hotel is a lot better

Very, very clean. Modern look and deco. Bed was soft. The shower was super cool it was all glass with a cut out to turn shower on and off or change temp. No fridge or microwave so plan on eating out entire stay. They do not allow pets and are serious about that. Had a guy chase me down to see which room I was in only bc he saw the dog bed in my back seat. So don't bring your dog. Parking was free and it was pretty quiet except for in the mornings when cleaning time started. Again, "just a room" perfect place .

Do not use this place. Made a reservation specifically requesting room early since I am a performer and have a big concert in Tijuana. I have been waiting for 3 hrs and the room is not ready according to the rud kid at front desk. If possible find another hotel.

I stayed at Real del Rio at 3 different times and was happy with the hotel, except the last time when it was noisy due to the construction going on. I booked a new stay for March 23-25 through Booking.com. The reservation was non-refundable. I did not have a problem with that at that time. Since then, due to the current situation with the corona virus I contacted the hotel trying to change my dates for the end of April. I was told that I could not even do that, because of the the type of reservation. When I insisted, I was advised by Paulina to send an email to Ricardo, the manager. I did and he never responded. I called twice and asked to talk to him and he was either at lunch or in a meeting. After seeing I could not resolve my problem with the hotel, I contacted Booking.com. They called the hotel around 12 noon PST and he was not in yet. They send him a request asking to cancel my reservation and the response came back negative. What does it take for Real del Rio and Ricardo to have some understanding considering the current situation when we are under "shelter in place" here in California and the border with Mexico has closed for non-essential travel as of today? How can a business be so greedy and care only about them not loosing money? What about loosing customers that are not going to come back after the way they are treated? I guess Ricardo does not care. I wonder if the owner of the hotel cares. One more thing: I left a negative review on the hotel website and when I checked today I could not find it. Strange, isn't it? BEWARE of the HOTEL and the NICE, POLITE, and CARING general manager RICARDO.

My fiancé and I stayed here on business for one night and it was pretty great for us considering the location was very close to our work for the day. The lobby was nice and well kept. The front desk staff weren't rude, but they weren't nice either. They did their job and that was all. The hotel overall was just very clean and nicely kept. They put us in room 206. Now the room, although aesthetically pleasing, had many little flaws which is the reason for giving 3 stars. The shower door didn't close all the way so the water would leak to the bathroom floor, but it wasn't flooding the floor. The towels provided were kind of worn. They were rough and not very absorbent like a towel should be. The light in the entire room was very dim. We felt like we couldn't open the curtain since right outside was a lounge area with tables and chairs and that's just awkward if people are sitting outside and they can look straight into our room. The air conditioner was set at 74 degrees and it was just hot. We called the front desk and they said it was standard in all the rooms. We just left the fan on "high" and that kept us cool. They offered a free breakfast buffet for each of us. The buffet had a nice selection of Mexican breakfast foods and you can even order fresh foods to be made for you. The service was great and they were all very nice. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hotel Real Del Rio. We wouldn't mind staying here again maybe in a different room.

What a beautiful hotel to stay at. We were there to attend a wedding at the venue next door. It was so incredibly convenient to be able to walk to the wedding reception, party and then walk back to the hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated, everything you need is there. The showers were great, warm water is always such a plus when staying in a Mexican hotel. I was very pleased with our stay here. Highly recommend.

Courteous service checking in and out. Rooms were nice and clean. Great beds with Egyptian premium sheets. Premium spread and towels in the bathrooms. 60 Channel TV with English CNN option. In Room service rates very affordable and great morning chef cooked breakfast buffet for just $10. Very quiet. Very close and within walking distance the downtown Medical area. Overall super value and upscale amenities for a budget price.

The staff is friendly. My husband didn't speak Spanish but the chef came out to take his order when I wasn't there. The food at the Sol restaurant was delicious. I seriously want to go back for that. Close to shopping. Great parking structure. Fresh rooms and cool waterfall pool. We will be back.

Let start by saying the is by far the best Hotel I have stayed in Tijuana. I've stayed at over 10 hotels in this city and all have failed to meet the minimal of my expectations. This hotel has such wonderful staff! I was very pleased with the customer service. Everyone in this hotel is super friendly and very tentative to your needs. The staff here goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. This hotel offers Private Secured Parking in their lower level garage which is monitored 24/7 by security and cameras. The rooms are super clean. The beds and pillows are super soft providing you with a very wonderful night. This hotel has a restaurant within the hotel. The food is wonderful we ate dinner and breakfast. We were greeted by the most caring man who made us feel very welcomed. All the staff in the restaurant were very nice and helpful the food was amazing. I expect this hotel to be my go to hotel and become a regular. Thank you!!

I went on Expedia on September 2 and booked a room for this hotel for September 3. The website showed that a room was available, but what I didn't realize is that, unbeknownst to me, the date was switched to September 11th. I noticed the mistake immediately after I received the confirmation. The reservation was non-refundable but Expedia contacted the hotel on my behalf to see about getting a refund. The manager wouldn't budge on their policy, nor would he even allow me to change the date. I personally called the hotel and spoke with the manager mentioned above. He wouldn't make an exception to the policy.. So I asked to speak to the general manager. I was put on hold and then told he wasn't there. I've called the hotel a half dozen times since and all I get is the run-around. I have yet to speak to the general manager. I called Expedia again and they spoke to the manager mentioned above for a second time but he wouldn't change his mind. I can understand having a non-refundable policy but it's terrible customer service to be so rigid with it. I feel like a got tricked into booking this hotel for a date I can't use. $70 is a lot of money for me right now. But what I'm more upset about is the principal of the matter and the complete disregard for my experience or dissatisfaction. It's obvious this hotel is more interested in taking my money, even if it's against my will. They may have made an easy $70, but they've created a seriously unhappy customer who is now motivated to share his terrible experience.

This place is awful. The rooms are decent but he customer service is terrible. The receptionist and security working at night are disrespectful. I booked for two nights during the summer and for those two nights the A/C did not work. It was annoying having to constantly deal with the staff that did little to nothing to help. I highly do not recommend this place. It is best you just look around and save yourself a few more bucks. This is not your typical hotel because they at full of drama. I never give bad reviews but his place definitely deserves it.

The hotel is boutique-like. The rooms are small. I gave them three stars, because they have potential to be much better. Their customer service is really good, but the upkeep needs a little more work. The restaurant "La Miel" is decent. They have a buffet breakfast or your order menu. We chose the buffet, which was decent for the price. We paid $18.25 for two on Saturday, and $19.25 for two on a Monday.

I've stayed in his hotel about 5 to 6 times, staff has always been really nice to me, kid friendly, rooms are nice and clean, I prefer the rooms in the center since they have bigger bathroom and the windows have nicer views, wifi ok but could be better, there's a gym in the lower level parking and is actually really nice, round the clock security for your car so no need to worry, walking distance from clubs, restaurants and oxxo, if you book on Travelocity and in advance you get way better prices. Love love this place would defenetly keep staying here

HORRIBLE experience, first and last time I ever stay in this hotel with the worst customer service. The front desk people were very rude especially SAUL. He went up to my room at 4am knocking and calling me because I had my friend stay over and he wanted to charge me the extra fee at 4AM! I had no problem on paying the fee just thought it was super rude and wrong of him to do it at such time.. he could've waited until check out to charge me the fee.

To Mr. Ricardo. A My name is Charaf Mansouri, I m one of the guest that love your hotel. I always stayed in your hotel even other hotels were cheaper. I also wrote a positive review on trip advisor. Sadly this time I m writing you to let you know how negative my last trip was. I stayed in your hotel on the night of the 21st August. The rooms were excellent, but the staff were very rude and unprofessional specially RAUL at the reception. I ordered pizza from outside and talked to the door man told him to please bring it to my room and he said he would. When my pizza arrived RAUL called me to my room and asked me to come down to pick up the pizza. I was upset because I was relaxing in my bed. I went downstairs to pick up the pizza and I told RAUL that I was not happy to come down stairs for a delivery that you can use the door man or someone to deliver it to me. RAUL just ignored me and start walking away from me by saying yes yes yes. I told him that he was not professional. I also told RAUL that this is not the way to treat guests. He just kept ignoring me and refused to hear anything I had to say. I told him that that I will complain about him in the morning he did not care. When I asked him what his name was, he threatened me by saying when your friends come to the hotel I will check their identification, I told him that was not a problem at all, he can do anything he wants. I felt threatened not welcomed and treated like trash by your employee. In the morning I checked out and asked Diego that I wanted to talk to a manager, he told me that the manager is at a meeting. I told him I need to complain to someone before I go online and blast the hotel. He kept me waiting for 10 minutes, when I asked him about the manager, he replied to me that the manager is busy. I told him that I will never come back here, he did not care. Your employees need to be trained for professionalism and they have to realize that thanks to the guests, they get paid. Sorry about this long email, but I just wanted you to know what happen in your hotel when no management is there and how your employees treat the guests. I wanted to go to you first before I go online and put negative comments about the hotel. I like your hotel but sadly the staff are not in the level of professionalism they should be. It sucks.....they have hot water, not much else. The rooms are ratty and reak of smoke in non smoking área. My dogs pillows are bigger than what we got. Looks like a survival center, bear minimum. A insult to have the name Real. It is niether real or royale as the name implies in spanish. Stay away.

Stayed here a few times and the service is always sub-par. The rooms always smell like you're inside of a cigarette smoker's mouth, the sheets look dirty and the décor of the rooms could use some serious upgrading. The hotel manager is incredibly rude and talks over you. I've stayed here as a last minute resort but never again.

We stayed here last week while in Tijuana for medical procedure. I guess because Hotel Ticuan had a recent fire. The room was nice and very clean. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. The front desk people aren't exactly friendly and less than helpful. I got more help on what was where from our housekeeper that cleaned our room. This place was right across the blvd from the clinic we went to so easy to walk to and from. I walked to El Mercado Hidalgo a couple times and it wasn't far at all. (better than paying those taxis 20$US to bring me one mile away) anyway the bed was comfortable and the pillows were like those long body pillows. Shower was hot REALLY hot but I'll take that over cold water any day. Fabric softener on the towels would be nice. Was like wiping myself off with sand paper! I had read on their site that the breakfast buffet was free for guests. So I tried it once...not again. It wasn't free but it wasn't expensive either. Not much variety and the food tasted more like it came from a can than being restaurant quality. They rave about the food there but trust me go next door to Cien Años! Prices are comparable and their food is amazing and with very classy elegant presentation. All in all Hotel Real del Río is a good hotel. We didn't stay by choice as this is where the nurses are that take care of the surgical patients. But if we ever go back then I'd probably stay again.

Quiet area and the room I stayed was clean. Electricity runs if you place your key card in a white box that's near the restroom. BYOpillow! They're like rocks! Walking distance to restaurants and bars within Zina rio.

Hopefully I didn't delete my first review, this is the first time I write a second review on the same location, but I was not disappointed, the price was cheaper than the first time, (booked via booking. Com) great location and when the TV remote was not working they sent someone right away to switch remote. The staff made me feel comfortable and secure. I'm not picky considering how economical the price for location is, yes maybe the towels are not new but like everywhere there is a trade off, will definitely be back!

I love this hotel. Staying here for one night (tonight) while in TJ after dental surgery. The only problem was my 'non-smoking' room reeked of air freshener and cigarettes. I actually had a smoker friend explain to me once that he always asked for a non smoking room because the smoking were like living in an ashtray. And then he would smoke in the non smoking room. My friend was sort of a jerk. But he's also a great guy. He stopped when his credit card got charged for a $1000 room smoke cleaning fee as per the contract he signed when checking in. I laughed so hard when he told me that. He quit smoking a few years ago. I think that may have played a factor. This hotel needs to do that. Punish the people financially if they smoke in a non smoking room. The windows have been open and the fan has been on for 5 hours. It still smells like smoke and air freshener.

THIS PLACE IS TRASH!!!! IT'S DISGUSTING!!!! They don't only lie about the amenities, but they have horrible parking attendants, parking structure and horrible Customer service. In other words this place is ran by idiots who do not care if your car gets hit in their parking structure or if he last person who slept on your bed didn't leave a mess behind! People it's disgusting, the staff, the rooms, pretty much everything is trash. They are money hungry, they don't know what good customer service is and they only want your money. All they promote is LIES!!! We had to live through it! Never again will I stay in this rat hole. DON'T DO IT! There are other hotels which are 4/5 stars that have amazing service In Tijuana Baja California like the Grand Hotel and Hotel Real. The price difference is about $10 bucks. We unfortunately had to stay because we accidentally booked the wrong hotel and they were 100 percent full. DOES NOT DESERVE 1 star.

The worst experience yet! The staff is rude and does not care for its guest. I booked a room with double beds and like every other hotel you can have up to 4 people as long as you pay extra for 2 guests. I came back to the room at 4am with 3 other girls and the security hunted us down because only 2 of us had been registered. I offered to pay for the other 2 and they refused to let me do this. The guy from front desk didn't give a damn that he was splitting a group of 4 girls forcing 2 to leave the hotel at 4 in the morning knowing Tijuana is not the safest place on earth. As humans who does this? I can't complain regarding the room as it was decent and clean but what good does it make when staff is rude none the less the security guards is always on top of you giving you not privacy. Oh and yes I offered to book another room and he claimed it was sold it when only on the internet sites it still appeared to have rooms available. Worst worst hotel experience. Stay anywhere else the prices are the same.
