Hotel REC Barcelona

Hotel REC was a great choice! Really good location, amazing staff and great value for money. I had a so-called quiet room and although there were some noises from the corridor, it was very small. The roof terrace with a small swimming pool was an absolute plus in hot weather and the troubadour that performed one evening was a refreshing addition. The only thing I would change would be that the swimming pool and roof terrace could have been open from morning until late evening. It would have been nice to take a dip in the pool in the morning or come back for a cool swim later at the evening. The breakfast had a lot of options and everything I tasted was good. I have already recommended the hotel to several of my friends and I will definitely come again myself. I also recommend trying the restaurant connected to the hotel. The food was really delicious.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Rec for 4 nights in July. We booked the corner suite and it was SO worth it! We were offered complementary beer or choice of beverage at check in and the gentleman at reception also comped us a breakfast for the next morning (as we had checked in very late after a late night flight from Paris). Such a beautiful corner patio with a full couch, chairs, and a table. Love the class railings- no view obstruction. The room was very nice, too! We were greeted with a bottle of cava on ice and dessert to celebrate our anniversary. The shower set up is unique and cheeky... you can slide the sink mirror in front of the glass shower for privacy, but otherwise it leaves an interesting "view" from the bedroom. Haha! The Rec staff was nothing less than fabulous. We attended the complementary beer tasting and had a blast with our host (forgive me, I forgot his name, but he was a very sweet gentleman originally from the Philippines). The rooftop pool was refreshing, albeit busy, but it was a fun opportunity to meet some new people and socialize. The hotel is in a wonderful location, situated in (or next to?) Born, which is a darling little area of Barcelona with narrow streets lined by restaurants, shopping, and stores. I would stay at the Hotel Rec again in a heartbeat. I want to go back already!

I visited Barcelona with daughter to celebrate her 21st. I’m 63 years old. We both loved the REC! We had a room with its own terrace, which we agreed was worth the extra money. The air conditioning was great and the beds, shower, size of room and breakfast were all very good. We loved the roof top bar and pool; the pool is small with only 6 sunbeds, plus additional chairs and tables. It can get a bit cramped but we were quite happy. The staff were amazing, very friendly and laidback. Prices on the rooftop bar were reasonable. They have a free storage area for cases if you have a late flight and were happy for us to bring a friend onto the rooftop while we waited for our flight time. Good position to visit most sites of interest. 40 mins to the beach if you’re strolling.

An excellently positioned hotel for access to sightseeing and the beach. |Staff were very friendly, super helpful and very efficient. |Our room was spotless and spacious, well designed modern concept. Roof top pool/bar and restaurant providing a wonderful space for the end of a long day enjoying the sights, food and streets of Barcelona. Lovely surprise bottle of fizz, on my birthday, placed in our room without any notice, very thoughtful and much appreciated. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

The staff were amazing and helped us a lot during our stay with my family. Hotel is at the center of every touristic place and you can easily reach these places by walking. My dad was a fan of the orange cakes at the breakfast. (He would really appreciate if you could give the recipe of the cake). Overall our stay was pure perfection thank you to Hotel REC for giving us this special experience.

Beautiful and well-maintained hotel with elegant, welcoming spaces. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The breakfast is excellent — varied and plentiful — served on the seventh floor in a stunning setting with an open view of the city. Also perfect in the evening for a relaxing drink. Highly recommended! The only downside: the room was really small, with the shower and sink practically right next to the bed, offering no privacy at all.

Hotel REC is great! The location is perfect, right at the edge of the old part of the city and within walking distance of most of the important sites. The staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly. They have a gorgeous pool and bar on the top floor with spectacular views, don't miss that! The room was spacious and very modern - bed comfortable and a great overhead shower. Despite being right in the city, it was quiet at night. When we come back to Barcelona, we will stay here again.

Truly a great experience at this hotel- from the friendliness of staff to the room I was blown away. Everything was clean, modern and up to date. The rooftop pool is a great added bonus. A great value and easy to get around from here. I would absolutely recommend!
