Stayed 3 nights at the Melia Recoletos while on a recent visit to Valladolid for Santa Semana and found the hotel to be pretty good , staff were friendly , it's in a great location , walking distance to everything but the rooms are old fashioned and in need of updating.||||The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Renfe station and everything is nearby. Allocated room on the 4th floor facing the back courtyard so it was very quiet. The room was a good size, bed was a tad soft and small but the bedding was crisp and clean. As mentioned in other reviews, the A/C and heating does not seem to work but the windows open so you have some fresh air, not sure what it would be like in the summer heat.||||Bathroom was as you would expect, large tub/overhead shower and plenty of space. Soap and shampoo dispensers fixed to the wall ( bring back soap bars )||There was a lot of wardrobe space for your clothes and room for your luggage. There is also a small selection of items in the mini bar and kettle to make tea / coffee if you so wish !||||Breakfast was not included in my rate but there are several breakfast spots right next door including Sesentta among others . Do ask and enjoy your welcome glass of sparkling wine which was laid out by reception as well as some sweets , fruit and complimentary water. The bar stays open until 11.30 / midnight so you can have a drink before or after your dinner and enjoy the tranquility of the courtyard . ||||It's a very short walk to Plaza Mayor and all the shops, bars , restaurants and sights. Wifi was easy to connect to and worked very well , the front desk were happy to help with any directions you needed and the tourist office is nearly directly opposite by the fountain and the Campo Grande park. Valladolid was a lovely city and definitely worth a visit if you are considering it.
