Hotel Rector, Salamanca, Spain - Explore & Book

"A Renaissance palace transformed into a sophisticated hotel with immaculate rooms and discreet service, Hotel Rector ticks all the ‘boutique’ boxes. But although this handsome gem has been gathering accolades for 25 years, it doesn’t rest on its laurels – interiors behind its golden sandstone facade are redecorated regularly. A grand staircase sweeps up to 14 guest rooms, all cool cream walls and sleek blonde parquet floors. There’s embroidered linen on the beds, beautiful stained-glass in the vast lobby and an air of serenity everywhere. We're yet to visit in person but those who have are full of praise. Staff are professional and attentive – pouring coffee at the excellent breakfast and G&Ts in the tranquil bar. For other food and drink desires, they give personal suggestions. On the edge of the old wall, the hotel is a short walk from the city’s must-sees, like the 2 cathedrals, the Old University and the exquisite Plaza Mayor. Indeed, for lovers of culture and architecture, Salamanca and this sublime hotel are a perfect pairing. Highs Salamanca itself: a Unesco site, with intricate gold sandstone palaces and plazas to explore, all magically floodlit at night Excellent restaurants nearby, everything from tapas to fine dining Just 14 peaceful rooms, with bathrobes and Nespressos A superb collection of art and history books in the lobby From birthday cakes to car washes, staff's sweet surprise gestures delight their guests Lows No restaurant for lunch/dinner, but you can order room service Although families are welcome, it's not ideal for kids No pool" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

Hotel Rector (Salamanca, Castilla y León) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another day, another gorgeous ancient Spanish city, another stunning landmark building turned into a clever, stylish little boutique hotel. Not that we’re complaining. The Hotel Rector in Salamanca is the sort of thing that keeps one coming back again and again. You can only do the major capitals so many times before a certain sameness sets in — a wealth of attractions in secondary and tertiary markets is what makes Spain a perennial destination (see also: Italy)." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at the Hotel Rector was outstanding. Even before arrival, the hotel messaged me to ensure the temperature of our room would be to our liking. We were immediately greeted by Carlos and Ignacio, who proceeded to care for all our needs and anticipated them even before us. The hotel is pristine and beautifully decorated with both modern and older works of art. Indeed, the art even extends into the garage and gym! The location is superb, the restaurant delicious and the service is impeccable. Indeed it may be the nicest experience I’ve had at a hotel. I highly recommend a stay.

We stayed at this charming boutique hotel for 3 nights. It was an exceptional experience. We stayed in one of their suites. The hotel is old world charm with all the modern comforts. It was like being at home but with all the luxuries of a hotel. The staff, from the reception to the breakfast room, was extremely helpful. The attention to detail was impeccable. When we were driving back to Lisbon, we were given bottles of water and snack for our journey back. Location is also perfect. It’s close to the centre but is away from the noise. Breakfast was a good spread. I can’t think of anything negative to say about our stay. If we ever go back to Salamanca, we would surely return to Hotel Rector.

This small family run hotel is one of the loviest hotels we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect and the decor and rooms exceptionally stylish but it is the staff and generosity that makes the Hotel Rector stand out. We felt totally spoiled and cosseted from the moment we arrived with treats in our room and staff who were happy to spend time giving us any help and advice we needed to make the most of our stay. We would love to return and highly recommend it.

What a perfect stay! We are lucky enough to have travelled the world and stayed at beautiful places. Hotel Rector and its staff are amongst the best we have ever seen. Quiet but not lonely. Helpful but not overbearing. Great room with quality amenities. Good gym. Great breakfast. Easy beautiful walk to the old city without the noise and hassle of the crowds. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Salamanca.

From the moment arrived we were blown away. The personalized service was unmatched by the extremely friendly staff. They assisted with recommendations around the city, making reservations and arranging transportation to the train station. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re traveling to Salamanca with everything being just a short walk away. Cannot wait to stay with them again soon!

I visited Hotel Rector last night, and whilst it was a brief visit to Salamanca, I’ll definitely be back and will be staying here again. Ignacio and Carlos and Roberto, and the rest of the hotel team, offer an incredible welcome and it’s clear they make every effort to ensure your stay is comfortable. (I received a WhatsApp on the morning of check-in informing me of local weather conditions and the temperature of my room’s air conditioning and whether I’d like it adjust for my arrival.) 😊 Incredible comfort, hospitality and an amazing city! A fantastic team and great people. See you all again soon! Lee

What a gem of hotel. Super helpful staff in every way. Parking a plus. Breakfasts were lovely and food choice just right. Room and facilities excellent. Bed super comfortable also. Made our stay in Salamanca truly wonderful. Very easy stroll into the centre of town and all the sights.

We recently stayed at Hotel Rector in Salamanca, and it exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect — just a two-minute walk from the historic heart of the city.||From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the manager, who guided us through the elegant lobby to our family suite. The suite was ideal for us: two separate rooms, each with its own bathroom. One was perfect for our teenage kids, and the other for my husband and me. Fresh flowers and a bottle of complimentary cava awaited us, adding a truly personal touch.||When we returned from our evening stroll, we were surprised to find small bottles of Bvlgari perfume placed thoughtfully on our beds — such a delightful gesture.||Unfortunately, we didn’t stay for breakfast as we wanted to try churros in the city, but I peeked into the breakfast room and it looked beautiful and inviting. With only 14 rooms, the hotel feels truly special and welcoming from the very first step inside.||The beds were large and extremely comfortable, every detail whispered luxury, and you could feel how much care has gone into making guests feel at home. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. But one thing is certain — we will definitely return.||I highly, highly recommend this wonderful hotel
