Hotel Rector, Salamanca, Spain - Explore & Book

"A Renaissance palace transformed into a sophisticated hotel with immaculate rooms and discreet service, Hotel Rector ticks all the ‘boutique’ boxes. But although this handsome gem has been gathering accolades for 25 years, it doesn’t rest on its laurels – interiors behind its golden sandstone facade are redecorated regularly. A grand staircase sweeps up to 14 guest rooms, all cool cream walls and sleek blonde parquet floors. There’s embroidered linen on the beds, beautiful stained-glass in the vast lobby and an air of serenity everywhere. We're yet to visit in person but those who have are full of praise. Staff are professional and attentive – pouring coffee at the excellent breakfast and G&Ts in the tranquil bar. For other food and drink desires, they give personal suggestions. On the edge of the old wall, the hotel is a short walk from the city’s must-sees, like the 2 cathedrals, the Old University and the exquisite Plaza Mayor. Indeed, for lovers of culture and architecture, Salamanca and this sublime hotel are a perfect pairing. Highs Salamanca itself: a Unesco site, with intricate gold sandstone palaces and plazas to explore, all magically floodlit at night Excellent restaurants nearby, everything from tapas to fine dining Just 14 peaceful rooms, with bathrobes and Nespressos A superb collection of art and history books in the lobby From birthday cakes to car washes, staff's sweet surprise gestures delight their guests Lows No restaurant for lunch/dinner, but you can order room service Although families are welcome, it's not ideal for kids No pool" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

Hotel Rector (Salamanca, Castilla y León) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another day, another gorgeous ancient Spanish city, another stunning landmark building turned into a clever, stylish little boutique hotel. Not that we’re complaining. The Hotel Rector in Salamanca is the sort of thing that keeps one coming back again and again. You can only do the major capitals so many times before a certain sameness sets in — a wealth of attractions in secondary and tertiary markets is what makes Spain a perennial destination (see also: Italy)." - Tablet Hotels

If I could give 1000 stars this hotel would certainly deserve it. Eva, Andrea and Ignacio gave the most outstanding service I’ve ever experienced in a hotel in Europe. It was like having your own personal butler or concierge service. The attention to detail is unparalleled and the one thing I regret is not to have tried the breakfast service. Our food experience in Salamanca wasn’t great. If this hotel had a dining service, it would be even better. I would go back to Salamanca just to stay in this hotel and sleep in their amazing beds. Thank you guys for making us feel like royalty!

My wife and I stayed at the Rector this year and last, five nights in total. You are pampered here, but it is so unobtrusive you might not recognize it until you leave. Superb breakfast buffet, with hot entrees as you wish. Trust their restaurant recommendations, they are far more current than Michelin. And if you’re driving, the hotel is just outside the old city and easy to find.

This was, without a doubt, an absolute gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived, we treated with a level of service rarely found in our world today. We were made to feel we were the most important guests and that level of hospitality was evident for our entire stay. The rooms are absolutely lovely! They are extremely comfortable in both size and furnishings, with extremely comfortably beds and PILLOWS!! And if you do not like what has been left for you, there are options!!If you park in the garage, you will be treated to artwork!! Location is perfect as well. All in all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend this gem without a moments hesitation!

The most beautiful hotel with one of the best service we have experienced after travelling the world. Centrally located with beautifully appointed rooms. The only thing our room was missing was a view but everything else was 20/10. The personal touches were beautiful.

This hotel is an absolute gem. The rooms are amazing, and the staff think of every detail to make your stay memorable. Personalized details like fresh flowers and turndown service will surround you in luxury. The morning breakfast is remarkable, with fresh fruit and local delicacies included.

An amazing hotel with incredibly helpful and attentive staff. From the moment we arrived the service was just spectacular, we were given maps of the city and a QR code for a self-guided tour, they helped us with making reservations and they even left some nice gifts in our room since we were celebrating a birthday. The breakfast was also delicious. Eva and Iván were very nice and helpful, they helped make our stay better. If we ever return to Salamanca, we would definitely book with Hotel Rector again!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Europe. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the service was so warm and welcoming! ||I made a last-minute booking, and by the time I arrived just 15 minutes later, my room was perfectly prepared with welcome drinks and snacks. The gym and restaurant were spotless and beautifully designed, while the hotel’s decor and attention to guest experience were truly outstanding. I’ll definitely return to Salamanca just to stay here again!

This was one of if not the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. They had amazing service and were constantly going above and beyond to make our stay great. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the rooms were really beautiful and large. They were always giving us free stuff like perfumes and bags and teddy bears and candy as well. The location was great, right by the water and walkable to everything cool and picturesque in Salamanca. I would 100% stay here again and def recommend it to anyone.
