The hotel is an older alpine lodge type place. Reception is of the more traditional kind, a large desk, all kinds of things behind the desk, ask for something they probably have it back there. Even the keys on the huge fobs that you have to hand in each time as you leave. ||Check in was efficient, and we were shown to our rooms, at the other end checkout was also efficient. English is well spoken here and staff are pleasant and understanding. ||Rooms: the rooms were large, well lit and reasonably furnished, if somewhat shabbily. There was a bed, chair, desk, plenty of drawers and hangers, mirror, fridge, tv, and a couple of the rooms had balconies. The rooms had safes but 2 did not work, so beware and check first before you deposit anything in them. Carpet in all the rooms needs replacing. This was probably the main reason for the shabby look. Otherwise bed was comfortable, nice windows that worked well. No tea or coffee making facilities, some was occasionally available in the lounge downstairs. You got a free bottle of fizzy water on arrival, but this was removed if you did not drink it all the first night. The fridge was stocked with mini bar items Wifi was good, plenty of electric points for charging although some in awkward places. ||Bathrooms were all fairly recently renovated and modern. Walk in shower was standard, large sink areas, hairdryer, makeup and standard mirror. Everything here looked smart and updated. ||We had breakfast here every morning, it was nice, the attending staff were very nice and there was a good variety of continental items: cereal, breads, pastries, cheese and cold meats, plus scrambled and hard boiled eggs and some kind of sausage, fruits and yoghurts. Otherwise there is a very nice cafe just next door ( in the direction of the town hall square) , they do nice lunch and breakfast. ||Parking: there is a smallish underground parking garage, just to the side of the hotel, you have to be buzzed it, and it is an interesting adventure finding your way through the hotel form this garage!||There is a bar open in the evening ( did not use) a pool area ( also did not use) and the lounge is a nice place to relax in, there is a coffee machine here that is free. ||Lots of restaurants in the area, the train station is close and shops are a short walk. ||Overall a pleasant stay, would stay again but would hope the carpets were gone!

The hotel itself is lovely and well situated. However I feel that for the price, a better option can be found. Especially the breakfast buffet was quite disappointing for us. The coffee and the food options were not of high quality. But the staff is mostly friendly and other than that we have no big complaints.

The Location is perfect for Garmish, the Hotel style is supposed to be antique, and it is. Their Bathrooms are modern tho. I'd be careful booking in the summer, since it gets a little hot with no A/C, also some noise from the main street during the night if the windows are open

The room was beautiful. The manager we checked in was kind and offered us local destinations. My partner and I tried to enter the hotel after hours, we banged on the front door, ranged the night bell several times for an hour. Just to be told by the night staff they “forgot to turn on” on night bell in the reception area, and actively heard and saw us bang on the door. Keep in mind this staff member was in view of the front door and reception and did nothing but ignored us. I’d stay here again, but night staff needs serious, proper training. Again, lovely hotel, night staff is terrible.

During the weeks of our stay and planning our stay, the snow wasn't great and we were going to go skiing. So we booked this hotel last minute within a day or two of arrival. Staff is super friendly. Facilities are great. They have an awesome spa and sauna and you can get massages there. So we took a health day and enjoyed all of it. The spa area is very expensive including two saunas, a steam room and a ice rub down station along with multiple different types of rain and heated showers and infrareds on as well. Great value, awesome staff

We booked two suites in this hotel and stayed for 3 nights. The hotel rooms and wellness area were good but the rest of the hotel has seen better days. The service staff who spoke only English were lovely The older German man was simply rude and unfriendly. He really spoiled our stay. For that reason I most certainly can not recommend staying here ... Customer service cab really make our break things.

Hotel was just ok, stayed for three nights and for what it is, is a little expensive. Breakfast was ok, rooms were suitable but a bit outdated and the rest of the hotel was a bit tired and they didn't top up our amenities at all and when we left they made us pay for a nights car park when we didn't use the car park one of the nights and didn't let us know that we apparently had to tell them before we didn't use it, which is stupid. They also didn't advise us until the end of the stay that we had to pay a city tax. Would definitely look for something else in a slightly better location next time I come to the town. Not worth the money paid.

We stayed here for a few nights and found it to be a good Hotel. The Staff and Service was first class, and the location was pretty convenient for walking into the Township proper.

Yelp
I cannot wait for the day I get to come back here. I stayed here with my travel buddy last June. First, Garmisch is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my entire live. It is beautiful and captivating and everywhere you look is a postcard. Staying at this hotel was hitting the jackpot. My friend found an awesome online deal for a few nights here. It was easy to find once we got into town. We were greeted by the friendliest employees. Michael was the man who assisted us with our bags, and showing us to our room. He was such a nice guy and continued to check on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. Our room was clean and comfortable and large, with a small patio. It was simply decorated and we were both so comfortable the whole stay. Their breakfast buffet was INCREDIBLE. Fruits, meats, breads, quark, coffee, juices....YUM! We also got set up with bikes so we could scoot around town. That was awesome that they offered that free deal. It gave us the opportunity to see the town in a different way. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a wonderful experience.

Yelp
This is my first visit but not my last. This hotel is amazing! The views are stellar and the service is impeccable. It starts with breakfast and goes all the way to turn down service. They even sent me champagne for my 50th birthday today . Thank you so very much for the most memorable visit to any country, you have made us feel like family coming home after a long time away.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience here. Everyone was very nice, the hotel restaurant is absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed our lodgings and Garmiche. We didn't have a good experience with the buses-a driver actually yelled at me (for a long time) when the bus door shut on me, like that was my fault. But still-go to Garmiche, stay at this hotel, eat at this hotel, but be careful if you use the bus.

Yelp
Quaint old hotel that has been very nicely renovated. It is in a great central location that is a short walk to anywhere in town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke very fluent English and Italian, (probably other languages too). The rooms were clean, spacious and the bathrooms had been completely updated. The hotel has quite a large spa/wellness area near the pool and fitness center. The breakfast every morning was wonderful. A variety of fresh baked breads, jams, cheeses and sliced cold cuts in addition to cereals, yogurt and fresh fruits. They will prepare fresh eggs for you any way that you like them. Getting to the rooms can be a bit of an adventure, as it sees like this may have been more than one building that was joined together. Sometimes you had to go up one floor and then back down to get to your room, but honestly that just added to the charm. Will definitely stay here again when I come back to visit GAP.

Yelp
We couldn't get into the hotel we wanted, so the travel agent put us here, but staying here was an amazing experience. Like most places in Germany, it is an old building that has been retrofitted with modern conveniences like a tiny elevator and fixtures and bathroom accoutrements, yet this establishment has many Bavarian flourishes--antlers and swords on the walls, statues, centuries-old paintings, things like that. The owner, Mr. Reindl, gave us a spontaneous tour of the building, showing us the "wellness oasis" with a couple swimming pools, a sauna, massage room, the hotel's storage facilities and so forth, ending up in the bar and bistro and restaurant. He was very kind to do that. Our room had a fantastic view of the mountains. It was pleasantly cool outside , in the 60s F perhaps, even though it was June, and one can see snow on the distant mountains. The hotel is located within a mile of the shopping district downtown around Marienplatz and Zugspitzestrasse--there you'll find many stores, restaurants, weinstubes, book stores, Italian eis places, fashion outlets, and so forth. They offer wifi by the hour, but they also have a computer under the stairs for free if you want to check your email, and that was more than adequate for our needs. The service at the hotel is top notch--they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Some of the employees are working on their hospitality degrees. There is parking in the tiefgarage below ground, but man is it tight in there. I recommend you let the porter park and retrieve the vehicle for you. I heard the staff speaking with guests in German, Russian, Spanish, as well as English, plus that incomprehensible Bayerisch dialect, so it's a pretty cosmopolitan experience. We enjoyed the breakfast buffets in the mornings in the bistro very much, and recommend it. The food was elegantly displayed and there was a wide selection of items. I usually went for the cold cuts, rolls, and apricot yogurt. The evening menu featured many Bavarian dishes that were intriguing and deliciious such as the medallions of venison. The food came in silver covered dishes and they wait on you like you're Caesar. All the service made me a little uncomfortable, actually. This was the most elegant place I've ever stayed, and I'd be happy to stay there again.
