A beautiful place with delicious food and stunning views. We highly recommend booking a room with a view of the city skyline. Inside, there are charming courtyards with seating areas and umbrellas — perfect for enjoying a glass of good wine or beer. Breakfast is served until 9 AM, but we showed up at 10 and the lovely staff still had it prepared for us. That says a lot — it’s a truly family-run place, and you can really feel it :) The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. There were absolutely no downsides or complaints. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. We wholeheartedly recommend this place. P.S. The town itself is breathtaking — the old town is full of beautiful architecture and amazing food spots.

This little Hotel is wonderfully positioned in the main square of charming Gubbio. Clean and comfortable. Very good value. The cappuccino is good as is the rest of the breakfast spread. The thing that really makes this Hotel special is the staff. They seem to genuinely like doing their job. Professional and friendly.

My husband and I stayed for two nights in a Junior Suite with a balcony while on our 3 week tour of Italy. This hotel has loads of charm and breathtaking views of the medieval city! The staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat and spots to visit. Don’t miss the funicular! The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The garden bar/restaurant is a great spot to kick back with an aperol spritz (or whatever) and relax! The town of Gubbio is beautiful and a fun escape from the usual summertime tourist madness of the more popular spots in Italy. If you’re planning a trip to Umbria, don’t overlook Gubbio and this lovely boutique hotel!

Hotel looks nice on internet, the reality is there is no reception and it just needs a minimum of renovations… smell of dust is strong, commun parts making ZERO sens so much you get confused and lost. Bed sheets were clean but the rest of the bed too old, while I am a vintage lover. Potential definitely here !

I spent my time at the hotel in June and everything was outstanding. The location is in the heart of medieval Gubbio, with a breathtaking view. The breakfast was the best I ever had, great selection from scrambled eggs to 10 types of pie. The staff was very courteous and shared great tips for places to visit nearby. I will definitely come back soon. Thank you Daniela and staff.

There's not too many games in town to choose from in Gubbio, and Ducale leans a little heavily on a 4 star rating which is surprising. The rooms themselves are spacious with generally good facilities. Views from various areas are great, being as high up as it is on an Umbrian Hill and boasting an interesting 'secret passage' . However, there are a lot of internal stairs and not lifts to all areas which make it increasingly difficult for anyone with poor mobility and nearly all carpets on stairs and common areas are very worn and tired looking. Staff were friendly but there seemed to be a dirty mop and bucket left visible in multiple areas that could have been avoided and gave poor impression. They need to really re-think the entrance which is overly hot, overly noisy and feels like a bar/ tourist shop. Breakfast room boasts a tank full of ill looking fish in stagnant green water which was rather unappetising but breakfast itself was "ok"and served by pleasant staff. It wouldn't take much to improve on the criticisms and to restore what must once have been a good hotel to the standards it aspires to.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Gubbio is a special place and the hotel provided a memorable sunset on the 2nd floor gardens. Their little dog also provided much entertainment as he’d push his ball to me for play. Great spot for our Canadian tour group.

Stayed for 3 nights. Pros: Great view from our room AC works well Staff are communicative and give good service Rooms are clean Cons: Breakfast is awful Hotel is tired and dated Weirdly decorated, no identity Loud dogs at the hotel and next door will bark early in the morning and wake you up. Overall: More like 3* than 4. Close to multiple bell tours which you can hear in the room. Personally enjoyed it but some people might be disturbed by it. Location is on the middle level of Gubbio, no parking nearby - you need to walk to the furnival car park which you need to pay if there are no free spots available. Driving through the 1 way system is difficult to reach the hotel and their instructions are not clear. The hill and cobble road means that some people might find it difficult to walk around. I probably will not go back to Gubbio but if I did I would not stay here.
