We visited La Cour du Bailli for lunch, and while the food was genuinely delicious and well-prepared, the service was frustrating and distracting. Our waiter — a middle-aged man with gray hair — seemed extremely nervous. When we asked for the dessert menu, he dropped it on the table and literally ran off without saying a word. Even earlier, he cleared a plate that we hadn’t finished yet, without asking. The whole interaction felt rushed and awkward, which really took away from the experience. For a restaurant with such a charming setting and good food, the service felt completely out of place — certainly not what you’d expect from French hospitality.

1 star because of service and the staff trying to scam us. We booked and paid the full amount online on hotel own website. Received a confirmation email stating I had paid. At check out, staff member tried to explain it was only an authorisation on the card and that it was their standard procedure. He asked me to pay again which I declined. The lady checking out just before me repaid as she believed what she was told. The room was not as clean as expected and old. Our was directly above the spa and was very noisy (it’s meant to shut at 7pm but there were people there at 11pm!). Also no heating in February in Alsace and it was cold.

The hotel is well situated just inside ramparts. The staff were polite and efficient. The food in the restaurant was good. The breakfast was average. The room was clean. A word of warning though- avoid room 26, a junior suite. When we arrived the temperature in the room was 29 degrees. (The temperature outside was max 23 degrees). No air con, but there was a fan. We had the fan on and the window open throughout our two night stay. On the morning we left it had got down to 25 degrees. But the noise of the fan drove me mad. The room was long, with a window at one end which looked directly into another room, so for privacy, despite the heat, we had to shut the curtains at night. After the first night, when we discovered we were over the laundry, we asked to move. Unfortunately we were only offered a ground floor room which was not acceptable to me. We had paid extra to the tour company we booked with to upgrade to a junior suite, so it was very frustrating.

Beautiful hotel in Bergheim. I've been here a few times on my way down to Italy. I'm not sure if they have a lift to access the rooms or if they have rooms on the ground floor. If not, I think that it isn't the best place for you. I really recommend eating in the restaurant. Booking in advance is the best thing to do. I'm looking forward to going to visit this place again one day.

So disappointed that the pool is for adults only?! Most people only book a hotel with pool because they have kids who want to swim.

There are many pluses to this hotel…friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, nice swimming pool, attractive building and courtyards. But our room was tiny and very hot - temperature in the room 29 degC when external temps were around 20 degC. A fan had been provided (taking up limits floor space!) which made it possible to sleep at night.

Awesome room, big and comfortable. The restaurant was good, we ate some really good Tarte Flambées, with two skilled musicians performing there. Pool and jacuzzi are a big plus. Our bathroom did not have a shower, but it WAS the shower, not very practical imho.

This is a beautiful hotel - so lovely to arrive in the flower filled courtyard. The rooms are spacious and ours came with a little kitchen area which we didn't use, although the fridge was useful. It's a nice place to stay. The food in the restaurant in the evening was mediocre although the service was very friendly. Breakfast was good. The pool area is nice but the swimming pool was too warm when we were there - more like swimming in a bath!
