I was disappointed with my stay here. The advertising gives the impression of an authentic Alsatian experience, but in reality it felt more like a tourist trap. The restaurant served low-quality meals with frozen vegetables and ingredients that were far from the fresh, regional food one expects in Alsace. The overall atmosphere did not reflect the local culture, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. If you’re looking for a genuine French or Alsatian experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, this place does not meet the standards you would expect for the region.

Bergheim is not a large village, so there are very few good places to stay. Hotel Residence La Cour du Bailli has a large restaurant with tables also available outside that draw the crowds when the weather is fine. Be sure to reserve a table in the restaurant in advance even if you are resident though as there are very few other reliable choices in the village. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our room had a useful sitting area which provided a comfortable place to relax on the very wet morning that greeted us on our second day here – our last in Alsace. There is a small swimming pool/jacuzzi area available for residents to use. A simple buffet breakfast is provided in a separate breakfast room adjacent to the main restaurant.  Free parking is available on one of the public car parks adjacent to the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights as part of a 7 day road trip to Alsace. LovetoWander.

We visited La Cour du Bailli for lunch, and while the food was genuinely delicious and well-prepared, the service was frustrating and distracting. Our waiter — a middle-aged man with gray hair — seemed extremely nervous. When we asked for the dessert menu, he dropped it on the table and literally ran off without saying a word. Even earlier, he cleared a plate that we hadn’t finished yet, without asking. The whole interaction felt rushed and awkward, which really took away from the experience. For a restaurant with such a charming setting and good food, the service felt completely out of place — certainly not what you’d expect from French hospitality.

Wonderful Hotel in a charming small town. Rooms are clean and in good shape. Breakfast somewhat disappointing…

Good place to stay but don t buy the breakfast it was such a disaster for me. There is even no scrumble eggs. They are giving the raw eggs to you and you have to cook by yourself. Whhhyyyyy?

1 star because of service and the staff trying to scam us. We booked and paid the full amount online on hotel own website. Received a confirmation email stating I had paid. At check out, staff member tried to explain it was only an authorisation on the card and that it was their standard procedure. He asked me to pay again which I declined. The lady checking out just before me repaid as she believed what she was told. The room was not as clean as expected and old. Our was directly above the spa and was very noisy (it’s meant to shut at 7pm but there were people there at 11pm!). Also no heating in February in Alsace and it was cold.

The hotel is well situated just inside ramparts. The staff were polite and efficient. The food in the restaurant was good. The breakfast was average. The room was clean. A word of warning though- avoid room 26, a junior suite. When we arrived the temperature in the room was 29 degrees. (The temperature outside was max 23 degrees). No air con, but there was a fan. We had the fan on and the window open throughout our two night stay. On the morning we left it had got down to 25 degrees. But the noise of the fan drove me mad. The room was long, with a window at one end which looked directly into another room, so for privacy, despite the heat, we had to shut the curtains at night. After the first night, when we discovered we were over the laundry, we asked to move. Unfortunately we were only offered a ground floor room which was not acceptable to me. We had paid extra to the tour company we booked with to upgrade to a junior suite, so it was very frustrating.

Beautiful hotel in Bergheim. I've been here a few times on my way down to Italy. I'm not sure if they have a lift to access the rooms or if they have rooms on the ground floor. If not, I think that it isn't the best place for you. I really recommend eating in the restaurant. Booking in advance is the best thing to do. I'm looking forward to going to visit this place again one day.

Yelp
We had a spontaneous dinner there with some friends and their one year old child there. The waiters were very attentive and helped a lot with the child. I had the sauerkraut salad, which everybody in the table ended up enjoying. The 5 meat and sauerkraut was not as great but still good. Others had the flammkuchen and hirschpfeffer which were all very good.
