Hotel Residence La Luna Nel Porto

We had a lovely week in this very nice hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff and a beautiful view 🥰 Our suite (apartment, really!) was on the third floor, so it was lovely sitting on one of our three small balconies eating breakfast or having a glass of wine while enjoying the stunning view over Lago Maggiore! We did not have breakfast from the hotel, as we were staying for a week and thus use of the kitchen area in our apartment was included, so we made our own. However, we did on several occasions enjoy a Limoncello Spritz in the garden outside the bar/dining room on the ground floor, served with snacks. The three women in the reception were all very friendly and spoke excellent English, and they were also very patient and forthcoming when we tried speaking Italian 😉 The cleaning personnel also did a very good job. The hotel is very close to the ferry terminal and a 15-minute walk from the train station, so it's very convenient. There are also lots of good restaurants close by. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back some day!

I would like to leave my review. My husband and I stayed at this hotel in July 2025. We really liked the hotel itself. Small but clean, Everything is done with taste and Italian charm. The staff - two girls at the reception are very polite, cheerful, communication skills at the highest level☺️☺️We were given a room on the first floor,Well, a very large room. Hall, bedroom and shower room, but the highlight was the courtyard With a view of the lake❤️❤️ Very nice and delicious breakfasts in the room) quiet, no noise. We needed an iron, so the girls gladly give it and the ironing board. We really liked everything, I hope we will come back in a couple of weeks and stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend 👍👍👍

This was our sixth (I think: I'm beginning to lose count) visit to la Luna nel Porto which is itself indicative of our opinion of its quality. The unparalleled views, combined with the peace and quiet and the spaciousness of the well-appointed apartments, make for an unbeatable combination for a perfect break. There have been a couple of changes of ownership over the years we have been visiting Stresa and the current team are clearly committed to maintaining and exceeding the excellent standards of the previous owners. Stresa itself retains its charm, bustling but not too overcrowded in summer and the hotel is at the quiet end of town, so remains undisturbed. It is a good base for exploring the lake by ferry: the terminal is just two minutes’ walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is raised up and set back slightly from road below and there is no noticeable noise. We loved relaxing on the terrace of our garden apartment this year and think this might be our favourite, but all the lake view apartments are wonderful and have the same spectacular view. Thank you to Alessia, Elena and Caterina and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Hotel Residence La Luna Nel Porto is just fantastic overlooking Lake Maggiore located within sight of the ferry terminal and just a few minutes walk into the lovely town.||Our check in was flawless, coffee and biscuits on arrival then promptly to our Lake View Apartment which was spacious incorporating an extensive kitchen facility, fridge, large lounge area, substantial bedroom with double bed and roomy bathroom. We had a choice of three balconies with chairs/table, access to TV, plenty of storage and hanging space, safe and an extensive range of crockery, cutlery, kettle and kitchen utensils. The entire apartment decorated in vibrant but relaxing colours.||Well furnished throughout with sofas and armchair and a small desk with chair in the bedroom. The bathroom is large with toilet and bidet, large washbasin and small walk in shower. Bathrobes, plentiful towelling, slippers and toiletries complete the provision. Housekeeping and cleanliness outstanding. A laundry room is available for a small charge.||Breakfast is taken in a bright and airy room near reception or on the patio (weather permitting) and although perhaps more continental for the English palate is nevertheless high quality, varied and substantial. Complimented by a range of cereals, egg dishes cooked to order and hot beverages and fresh orange juice from a blender.||The whole place is managed and organised by Elena, Katerine and Allesia who are all just brilliant, helpful, informative and enthusiastic. A truly fabulous stay and do not be put off at first sight when you pull up at the petrol station below once on the upper terrace you will fully appreciate the splendour of the place. The lift ride to the hotel terrace is novel as you have to keep the lift button pressed for the ascent.||Sheer joy throughout our stay in Stresa and La Luna Nel Porto.

Highly recommend for the extra helpful staff, perfect location and patio with beautiful lake views. We had lots of space in our first floor apartment with a big sitting area, bedroom and nice patio which worked great for our byob happy hour each night. Also discovered a funky beach bar/putt putt place a short walk along the lake - Lov Beach Bar and Lounge.

Had a very nice stay in Stresa, enjoying the garden and our lovely lake view. The room was very spacious for four of us. It was very clean and they provided water for everyone everyday. The staff were extremely helpful, getting us a reservation at the excellent Ristorante Cardini and providing a great breakfast. In the area, we recommend the pizzeria just two doors down, the aforementioned Cardini and the Osteria degli Amici.

Review of Hotel and Residenza La  with microwave and a dishwasher, a large bathroom with twin vanity basins, a large living area, and an enormous bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Both the living area and the bedroom have French doors, opening to the terrace and shutters to keep the rooms dark at night. The suites also have a double sofa bed and an extra pull-down bed so they can accommodate 5 people.||The cooking facilities in theit hen are only available for stays of 5 days orore or by previous arrangement||Breakfast is optional or you can have a ontinental breakfast for €5  or a full breakfast for €20.||Laundry facilities are available at a cost of €10 per wash and dry.||The residence is 10 meters from a service station, 20 meters from the nearest restaurant, 150 meters to the ferry terminal and the bus stop. Opposite the ferry terminal is the shopping district. A Carrefours supermarket is there servicing the town. The railway station is one kilometer away, probably a bit too far to wheel your luggage if you are 80, like me.||The season finishes at the end of October and opens again for Christmas and again in April. I highly recommend this residence; the staff looking after you are excellent. Alessia, Elena and Caterina were fabulous.||My wife and I loved this place.|Away from the noise of the town centre but still very close to everything.|Have no hesitation in booking.

We had a really great stay here with our 3 and 6 year olds. The photos don't do the rooms any justice. The styling is old Italian, but the rooms are huge and well maintained. The balcony is as large as some hotel rooms in major cities. It's also across the street from the ferry terminal and about a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops. A huge bonus is this hotel has laundry machines. If you're like us and travelling through Europe for multiple weeks with kids who can't hold their own baggage yet, cutting the amount of clothes you bring in half because you can wash it is priceless.

What a beautiful setting! The staff were very polite and professional and the property is so lovely. This was a special night for our family so we splurged on the Lake View Suite @ €340 - Room 311 - gorgeous!! and spacious. Staff left us some snacks and a bottle of wine. Very close to shops & restaurants. We skipped the breakfast, although the setting looked beautiful - went to "il Gigi bar" just up the street for croissants and coffee (€8,70 for three of us). Ahhh, the good life!
