Hotel Residencial Alentejana

Staying at Hotel Alentejana was a truly delightful and memorable experience. The building itself is beautiful, with charming antique decor that adds a unique character to the space. The rooms were well-equipped, cozy, and full of charm — creating the perfect atmosphere for a peaceful stay in the heart of Coimbra. The warm hospitality and friendliness of the staff made my one-night stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely love to return!

It's a very old building with over a century history with a unique old building smell (O mean in a good way, not disturbing at all) Our room was OK unless the pillows. There was no breakfast and we self check in in the evening so I left service unrated. It's a little bit uphill and at a distant location from city center so a more crowded section can be preferred. We chose due to available street parking.

What a disappointment! Smelly room - smelt like an old woman. Small and dated bathroom. Shabby and stained towels. And the noise when someone somewhere flushes a loo! Oh and a stained toilet bowl. No glasses provided just flimsy paper cups. Lighting was awful. It's a nice building and the sheets and poor quality towels were clean. But it really needs some money spending on getting it better. Location is good. On street parking was fine.

Had a very nice stay at Residential Alentejana and would highly recommend it! I was traveling with a group for business purposes and got to also see that my colleagues rooms were as beautiful as mine .I had a terrace and it was very magical to have such great views at night .I also really enjoyed the restaurant directly across the road from the hotel and everything that was within walking distance to the hotel.Was a great location to have all I needed closeby.The air conditioner worked very well and the woman who owns the hotel was always closeby and was extremely helpful .The rooms were very clean and all was perfect!

Beautiful! Simply beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Loved the hotel's atmosphere. If you are experiencing Portugal as a couple, this is a great romantic stop. The interior design feels like traveling the time machine. The continental breakfast was delicious.||The walls seemed soundproof to us (since a neighbouring lady watched the telly on less considerate volume - however, in our room we didn't hear anything of that anymore).|The room was clean.|The staff was polite and very welcoming.|There are free parking spots around the corner uphill, if you wish to travel by car.

My title are the positives. The whole place is very clean and well kept. The decor was well maintained. The staff were helpful and polite.||Our economy room was small and dark, but expensive for what is was. There was a lack of toiletries, which you do not expect from a 2 star place, but are in some of their photos, and we expected for the price paid. The breakfast was basic, but ok. The whole town is very very steep and the guesthouse is about 20 minutes walk from the centre. Probably would not stay here again as the negative outweighed the positives for us on this occasion.

A spotless accomodation bursting with tradition and hospitality. We stayed in a triple room for two nights. The beds do not exceed in terms of comfort but they will do for a short stay. The breakfast is not very elaborate but the small buffet has everything you need. Must recommend the cake made with biscuits and cream. Free parking in the neighbourhood is a bliss. We arrived with our rental car and it's easy to find a spot on the streets. The hotel is at walking distance from the university and the bars nearby . If you don't mind the hills it's conveniently located for a walking tour of Coimbra as well.

Residencial Alentejana is a century home that welcomes you with a friendly smile and beautiful wooden furnishings and flooring. Cozy atmosphere like you are in your own house. Continental breakfast served in a nice room with round tables and with intimacy. Very well situated, next to the Baixa de Coimbra , shops and the main Coimbra hospital. You don’t need a car since it’s easy to walk to city center.||Two informal restaurants just on the corner with excellent Portuguese cuisine.||In a nutshell a great place to stay while visiting or doing business in Coimbra.||I really enjoyed!||Thank you to the owner and staff for the positive experience!
