We arrived in Las Terrenas late in the afternoon with no hotel reservations because we wanted to see things before making a decision where to stay. The first place we checked out was a popular hotel in the main part of town that is highly recommended on trip advisor. The hotel and staff seemed okay, but the beach in town is very small and didn't look comfortable to spend the day in the water. The other thing we didn't like was that the hotel only had AC in the rooms, but not in the living room. I should mention that we were looking for 2 bedrooms and some sort of a living area. ||We moved on to checking out many hotels and AirBnB rentals from Playa Bonita back to the main part of town, stopping at some in Playa Las Ballenas. Everything we looked at had the same problems, either the beach was too small or too far away or more importantly there was no AC except for the bedrooms. ||Then we stumbled on Marilar, the one hotel kind enough to provide air conditioning in their living room and where the beach is right in front with ample space for beach chairs. Everything else about Marilar was rock solid. ||The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable, in fact the pillows were the most comfortable I've experienced in a long time. The hot water was always available and ample, the AC was cold, everything in the kitchen worked. The staff provided us with as much coffee and sugar as we needed and arranged for food and supply deliveries as we needed them. ||There are two restaurants next to the hotel, both will deliver. ||The pool was a nice temperature and was very clean. ||Parking was ample with a secure area behind the hotel.||I highly recommend the 1st floor as pool access is very easy, room #1 is a great choice if you need a 2-bedroom. ||Last, the owner was present and made us feel very comfortable during our stay without being intrusive. ||

We stayed in apartment 6, a one bedroom apartment my son and I.||||The apartment is spacious and the view to the beach is the best! The fridge is big and cold, and the WiFi works well. The furniture is beach’s style and overall comfortable. Not the best but good for one week. The show is functioning.f||||You can have breakfast for USD 10 at the Eden beach club on the beach next door. They have great pancakes, omelette, juices and fruits.||||The best souvenir was the message from Judy on the apartment terrace. She is great and very sweet. All the stuff was very nice.||||I definitely recommend to stay at Marilar!||||Nite - we did not try the pool and mainly used the sea and beaches who are fabulous!||||We did an Excursion with Franco Excursion. Do not use this guy, it is very bad value excursion, especially the one to the Island close to Samana- he is not related to the hotel.||||The best restaurant in the area is Porto.

Perfect location on the beach (Las Ballenas). Walking distance to restaurants and beach clubs. Incredible terrace/balcony facing the beach. Clean and comfortable. Some minor issues with inconsistent hot water, but not a deal breaker. Wonderful response from staff.

We stayed here a week and it was lovely. It is right on the beach, It is a small but beautiful hotel. The rooms have fully equipped kitchens, good ac and a nice view of the ocean. During the weekdays we were the only ones there. The staff were friendly and helpful and the owner, Luigi is nice. Las Terrenas itself is a pretty town, with beautiful beaches and delicious seafood.

It was a perfect place. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there. The apartment was spacious and clean with good security. It was quiet with stunning beach front view. Both Inez and Luigi are so very hospitable and friendly. They are always there to help you with any questions or assistance you may need. |In addition, the food at Eden by the beach just in front of the hotel is excellent and further down the road just a short walk also a good Italian place.

I was at this hotel on July with my husband and my 3 year old girl. We had a blast and it was all we were looking for. My husband came back from there with the sense of moving to Las Terrenas . We LOVED the hotel and the service and its people. It is a GREAT family oriented hotel. Jenny ( the front desk ) it’s the best! We recommend this hotel and we are DEFINITELY coming back.

It’s a good choice if you want to be on the beach (Colibri beach, a nice one). Staff is ok, room is nice and big, good WiFi, there is parking place. Close to Pueblo de los Pescadores, the restaurant and nightlife area (15 minutes walk or just take one of these bike taxis, it will cost you 2 USD - 100 pesos per person). Didn’t try the pool but it looks nice and you can use it after sunset! Nice balcony, AC in the living room and bedroom. No breakfast, but you can just cross the street and have breakfast on the sand ;-)
