We loved staying here!||||The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The room, ensuite bathroom and hotel were clean and beautiful. Flocked wallpaper, chandeliers, period furniture in public spaces, comfortable furniture in the room - well thought out - good, solid breakfast with constantly refreshed buffet - locked garage for the bikes (we're travelling the Elbe bike route) - easy walking distance to a very good Greek restaurant. Staff pointed out the nearby restaurants. ||||Cosy, comfortable, attractive place to stay. We'll be back!

Just beautiful. It is one of the rare old style German hotels that are not streamlined by the big hotel chains. The owners are very helpful, the location is excellent and breakfast more than we have expected. The neighborhood gives view to a number of great mansions dating back to the Wilhelminian period.

Perfectly appointed and spotless. The Joop's and their staff aim to please their guests. To be honest, rooms are small, but very comfortable and full function, it's an old family home after all. Anything extra you need can be provided, be it tea kettle, wash cloths, extra pillows. They will serve coffee in their cozy back garden or provide a sandwich for supper. ||This hotel is on a quiet street. Take the short walk along the Elbe to the Magdeburgerdom or borrow one of their bikes for an hour or two to peddle south through an idyllic countryside. Breakfast includes a wide variety of muesli, fruit, warm breads, cold meats and cheese. Eggs are cheerfully cooked to order. The proprietors and their staff are accessible and friendly. English spoken as well as German. If you have time, ask them about how they got into the hotel business. It's a fascinating story.

We stayed just one night but found it a lovely comfortable Residenz, in a quiet leafy area. We wandered around town for a while in the evening, sight seeing and looking for a place to dine. We finished up back at an Italian restaurant recommended by Berndt and had a good meal. Breakfast was very good and prepared us well for the drive to Potsdam.

I stayed overnight for one night in a single room This hotel is located in a quiet street, although only a short foot walk away from the river Elbe and the city center of Madgeburg. Inside, it is also quite, has large, comfortable and tastefully furnished rooms. The owners met me with a personal welcome and gave me an introduction to the hotel, options for local sightseeing, walks, and the history immediately at check-in. I was even offered to rent a bike at the hotel and explore Magdeburg on the bike. Breakfast buffet is rich with a good choice of fresh food, again with a nice and personal service. The price is very reasonable for this, and I am sure I will come back to enjoy the very personal touch how guests are met.

This house is pretty, as previous reports say, I do not have much to add to that. In particular, the breakfast room and set up is cute and delightful. .The rooms are good size, modern, clean and very well kept. There is no AC and we suffered for that. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room. Downstairs, our laptops (I-pad and HP) did not allow it as the certificate was not acceptable.||||I will add though that the parking is in front of the house, wherever you can find. Indoor garage parking is 9 euros a night. Also there is no help to move your bags, but there is an elevator from the garage. The garden around the house is pretty.||||There is no main sitting area or lounge to loiter or watch TV etc. I did not see a library. So if you leave after breakfast and when come back go straight to your room. There is not much to see in this town. The downtown (1/2 mile away) looks run down and not very clean. This B and B is in a good part of the town. There is a Italian restaurant 3-4 blocks away but not much else.||||Mrs. Joop is a delightful welcoming lady.

I was here at this hotel in 2017 September. The hotel is very elegant, the room was nice and fancy. The breakfast serving followed the hotel style. When I checked out, I met the owner of the hotel, he was very friendly, we talked about a lot of things. The only disadvantage was the internet connection speed. I measured it, and it was 6 kb/s, so I couldn’t really do anything. Parking is possible on the street mainly, because there are only few parking spaces of the hotel.

Very beautiful B&B in the town of Magdeburg. Easy walking to dinner and town.||Breakfast was amazing. Host and Hostess very friendly and helpful. Not expensive and a bargain for us coming from the states this caliber of B&B in a city would be three times the price. Big comfortable quiet and clean rooms.
