We loved our stay here. It's the perfect location to get to Kyoto station by bus and right in the heart of a food, history and shopping scene. A short walk to the Kamo River and all the restaurants along Pontocho Street and alleys around the stream. Also an easy walk to markets and Gion. The hotel bed was so comfortable and the evening shows are a great bonus. The beauty products are exceptional. Lovely staff, especially Kosuke who helped us book a restaurant for lunch. Definitely stay here.

A lovely modern hotel with some traditional touches in a good location. The room was quite small but the layout made it feel not too small. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended an excellent sushi restaurant and also arranged for our luggage to go to Tokyo. The hotel has a lovely communal room near reception which had tea, coffee and cocoa available for guests at no extra charge. The hotel also held free Japanese events in the afternoon - music, calligraphy etc. I would recommend this hotel.

Great base for exploring Kyoto, plenty of restaurants / bars / shops within walking distance, also well linked for public transport. We stayed in a standard double room as a couple and found it to be on the larger size compared to some rooms we had during our time in Japan - but still cosy as most hotels here are! Breakfast was great with a good selection, something to please even picky eaters. We made use of the laundrette in the basement which was easy to use and reasonable priced. The hotel overall was beautiful and very clean, we were even lucky enough to enjoy a performance in the lobby on check in - we would definitely return!

Me and my sister stayed three nights here and was very wanted by the welcome of the staff. The hotel had a nice atmosphere with a relaxing entrance. We appreciated how clean our room and bathroom was l, as well as the shared facilities down stairs. As well as seeing staff always cleaning the shared filtered water machine. We would absolutely come back here to stay. Thank you !!

Absolutely loving my stay here at the hotel. Warm & friendly staff and beautiful room. Location is also great for a first timer to Kyoto. Tonight watched a special Shakuhachi & Taiko performance by local artists & was welcomed to participate. Please invite more artists to your hotel so tourists from all over the world can appreciate the talent & beauty in Japanese art :)

Good location and nice lobby and rest area but lack of daily room cleaning put me off this hotel. Travelling with a child with nappies etc meant this was not ideal. Masked as an eco policy but they have plastic bags and amenities so it’s just a cost saving policy. A shame as the hotel is in the best location.

This is the most beautiful, coziest hotel next to Gion. Part ryokan I find it. The staff, the amenities are all excellent. Tons of toiletries and skincare for free. Also, free entertainment! Don't miss the kabuki performance!

Beautiful hotel, rooms are very nice and well appointed. The hotel has short cultural performances most evenings: karate, kabuki, and geiko dance are examples. Central location only a short ride by taxi from the Shinkansen station. The Italian restaurant il-chiante on the basement level of the hotel is excellent as well.
