We were not able to eat at our hotel one evening (in another town), and this place was recommended. We were very pleased. We ended up here for lunch and dinner! Loved the menu, it was very French---maybe with a little bit of a modern twist. ||For lunch my husband had the Dorade with a beurre blanc, excellent.. with very flavorful rice and veggies.. I had to have the Ris de Veau which is rarely found on menus these days, even in France. Served in a heated copper pot so I could just spoon out what I needed. (all the plates were heated) With fried potatoes, (NOT frites for a change!) Swiss chard (just in season) and some other veggie. They have the normal traditional desserts.. I had creme caramel and my husband had some sort of apple cake that was great.. "Croustade fourree aux pommes."||For dinner, I started with the "Angulas" which is baby eels.. in olive oil...amazing. Only have had that in Spain. My husband had the razor clams (Couteaux grilles) They were a little tough for him to chew.. but very flavorful and spicy. The chef likes pepper. Then I had grilled scallops which were perfectly cooked (beurre blanc) and my husband had the Tatin de Canard which had a layer of potatoes on the bottom (top), the confit of duck and another layer.. I forget, but he liked it. Dessert was sorbet and blancmange. We had a little pitcher of wine since we aren't able to drink much, but it was decent. The food was richer than what we usually eat but we enjoyed every morsel. Highly recommended.
