Hôtel Restaurant Etoile Des Neiges

We checked in at 8 p.m. after a long drive so didn't have much time to explore the hotel or the area. We did notice that there is a laundromat right near the hotel but it was closed. We were traveling for almost a month so we're always looking for a place to wash clothes.||||The gentleman at check-in was friendly and helpful. There was a dining room for the restaurant to the right of the check-in area. Our room came with a free breakfast,||||The room was fairly basic, but very clean. Lots of wood in this hotel so you can tell the Swiss Border is not far off. We had two triple rooms for the six of us. The bathroom was a good size with a walk-in shower which we appreciated after having to climb into deep bathtubs to shower in other hotels. The toilet is in a little room separate from the bathroom. No closets but lots of cubby holes to put things. There is a nice common room area, a pool and a sauna. ||||If you are in the area, I recommend this hotel for a stop on the way to your next destination.

We stayed here for a week's walking and found it an excellent base. The hotel has been renovated fairly recently so everything is in good order. Room 6 has a balcony overlooking fields and the cheese factory! Others of the party had rooms without balconies and views of the car park, so suggest you specify in booking. We ate there every night except Monday when the restaurant is closed. In general the food was good, though varied, from excellent to average. This is a two star hotel, but misses being really excellent by rather unimaginative decor, variable food and lack of customer care. The couple who run the hotel were friendly enough, but could do a great deal more in welcoming etc. Small things were annoying for instance, breakfast tended to run out of bread, and the evening meal was only served at 7.30pm. Very good regime of cleaning the rooms when we had breakfast, and they were always spotless,

Very lovely restaurant with exceptional service and great food!

Nice hotel, good value. The rooms are clean, fairly spacious, and come with balconies. The restaurant serves good, affordable food (3-course dinners for €20-€30). The breakfast buffet is particularly recommended, as it includes delicious locally produced yoghurt, sausage, cheese, honey and apple juice. Do bring your own shower gel or soap, as the ones offered by the hotel smell like the professional cleaning stuff usually used for toilets.

The hotel is easy to find with ample free parking. The rooms are large, clean, well appointed and quiet. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is great and reasonably priced.

Arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm after being on our motorbike since early on a hot day.The reception was empty and a note on the desk to say there would be no one to book us in until 5.30pm although on the booking form it stated we could book in from 2.00pm. It was like the Marie celeste. After an hour of waiting I heard a door slam and shouted hello a girl appeared and quickly booked us in.She then disappeared again just as quick without explaining anything about the facilities how to book an evening meal how to use the pool.in fact nothing at all.||||Evening meal was very good. Room was large and roomy .Nice reception areas.OK for a 2 star.Nice to have a coffee machine available

The hitel is well located near the ski area and the rooms are warm, clean and cozy. Unfortunately the service is terrible, from the moment one checks in to the moment one has dinner, the staff, includung the manager are very rude and truly do not care if their guests are well served, or even served. The breakfast is ver poor and there is hardly anyone around to help or serve. Our waitress was extremely rude when we asked for basic service and the manager did not look up from his computer when we talked to him. Horrible service.

Me and my boyfriend spent five nights at this charming bed and breakfast.|The rooms were great, clean, cozy and the staff service minded and friendly,|Unfortunately we didn't have much snow when we were here and they helped us arrange transfer to Val thorens as well as giving us a ride up to the village.|Great service and helpful as said before.||If we would have had snow the location of this bnb would have been placed perfectly!|They were of course all prepared with a big ski gear room etc.||I would recommend to add dinner as well. They're restaurant were lovely and outside the main bnb.||Go to sauze d'oulx and stay at etoile des neiges I would recommend it to everyone!|Just hoping you'll get some more snow than us.
