The location of the hotel was perfect—walking distance within all the main attractions in Bern’s Old Town. The rooms were simple and clean, and had all you needed, especially if you’re here for only a couple of days like we were. We were disappointed to learn that our room did not, in fact, have a balcony, as was advertised in the photos that accompany our room reservation details. The balcony and its view overlooking the old part of town was what really sold us on booking this hotel. After checking into our room and seeing that we only had a window with a partial view of the street, I reviewed the room details in my reservation confirmation and noticed that a balcony is not specifically mentioned, but it does say “city views” which can be misleading considering a photo of the balcony was included in our reservation. Not sure who handles the photos and advertising for this property, but I would suggest updating the photos and description of each room so that each is accurately represented when people book reservations. After reading some other reviews, I noticed we were not the only ones who experienced this. Again, not the biggest deal considering we spent most of our time outside exploring Bern and its surrounding areas. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh bread, meats and cheeses, and the staff were very friendly. I definitely want to stay here again when I return, (but this time hopefully in the room with a balcony 😄). Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bern for a few days.
