This restaurant is fantastic. We loved it so much, we went twice & ordered the same thing again! Definitely worth going to.

The food is amazing! The service is extremely slow and can try your patience. It's slightly expensive on the pocket, not a place you'd go to for a regular lunch, but more one you'd go to for a special occasion.

I was in Soest this summer researching my early life as I was born there as dad was in the canadian military and this took me to Soest. I liked Soest a lot and found this inn charming. We had an older room right at the top of the hotel and I could hear the bells ringing from one of the many churches early in the morning. This hotel was recommended by a friend who had been stationed in Soest. The owners were two young chaps who were fun, hospitable and helpful. They spoke english well and were professional and helped us out with train connections and the like. The continental breakfast in the morning was good. The rooms were not remarkable but were clean and servicable. I had no desire to stay in a cookie cutter hotel and this was unique and I kind of felt I had stepped back in time. I agree with the other poster that if you are looking for something fancy, this is not your place. If you are looking for something unique, this is. This is a good hotel for single women travellers as well.

Im Wilden Mann is a traditional-style German inn, centrally located in the picturesque town of Soest. It does not have its own car park, but there is street parking nearby.||The building is old, so there is no lift. Our bedroom had a sloping floor and old-fashioned bathroom, but was clean and comfortable. It overlooked the market square.||The hotel has its own spacious restaurant serving typical German meals. The waitress spoke English and allowed us to taste the wine when we couldn't make up our minds. Breakfast was buffet style and included in the room price. All the staff were polite and friendly.||The hotel is near to the start of the town's walking trail, which takes about two hours. It is a character inn and would be attractive to independent travellers on a medium budget. It would not suit people who prefer modern hotels.|

I stayed here on a quick business trip and found it very interesting. The building has a long history going back hundreds of years. My room was very basic, but clean. The breakfast is simple, but good. The hotel itself and the pedestrian area around it are the real reason to stay to here. The bar was also a nice place to have a drink in the evening and talk to some of the other guests. The only downside is that it is a little hard to find and you have to park in garage a few blocks away.
