Stayed at this hotel for one night on a visit to this most interesting town. Unfortunately our choice of hotel proved not to be a good one. The room - basically felt a bit like a prison cell. Polished concrete floor did nothing to make us fell comfortable, most of the painted surfaces were silver, curtains were ill fitting, toilet was so small you could hardly sit down and close the door, and the bathroom had been very poorly renovated at some stage. So all in all you certainly wouldn't stay there expecting a nice room.||The restaurant - we went down to the restaurant and were shown our table. It was not particularly busy and there were maybe three or four staff "serving". Only problem was they seemed totally disinterested in serving us. We sat for at least 20-30 minutes before a man, we assumed was the owner, approached us for our order. No greetings, no smile, in fact a little earlier we had heard him shouting orders every time he went into the kitchen. Not a good thing for a restaurant. ||Again we were disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food. ||We couldn't help notice the attitude of all the staff, very sombre and not welcoming, and we concluded it must have been a result of the very grumpy owner or manager.||If you are looking at a web site such as booking.com with photos of this hotel, the rooms looked nothing like the room or bathroom that we had .||If you are planning a visit to Le Puy en Velay which we can thoroughly recommend, don't stay at Le Regina, pick somewhere else. It purports to be 3 star, make that 1 star
