Hôtel-Restaurant "Le Terminus"

I recently stayed there for business and I'm a bit torn about it, so let's proceed methodically.||||Good points:|| -Central location.|| -Most rooms are quiet, in spite of the proximity of the train station.|| -The rooms are clean.|| -The staff is friendly.|| -The wifi is free, and its signal is reasonably strong in most rooms.||||Bad points:|| -Some rooms are quite small. At least mine was. Some other reviewers say that the rooms are quite spacious, though. || -As far as I understand, some of the rooms recently got refurbished, but not all of them. Mine wasn't. || -The bathroom looked quite old.|| -The walls were very thin between the rooms. So I could hear my neighbour talking, and his alarm clock in the morning.|| -My room had no fridge, no kettle and I didn't see any hair dryer either. Lucky I'm a man with short hair!|| -The bed felt incredibly uncomfortable. That's clearly a matter of opinion here, but it was too soft for me, and I really disliked the U shape it got as soon as I lied down on it.|| -The TV was not configured properly and its sound was terrible. Most channels were unavailable and the printed channel list was outdated.|| -There was no accessible power socket around the desk. (Now, where do I connect my laptop's power supply?)|| -The restaurant is closed every Monday. I can't really blame the restaurant staff for having a day off though, but it is worth noting it. Too bad for us, as it looked like a good plan, specially for the hotel guests.||||Overall, I think it is a bit overpriced for what it offers.

I book a room in this hotel for the first time in august 2014. My room was a superior one, and was located at the rear of the hotel. It was important because I would like to avoid the noise from the railways station. And it was really very quiet. The next week, my superior room was not at the rear of the hotel but, at the front. I was a little unhappy for that, but after one night, a was pleasantly surprized... Almost no more noise than last week. So don't worry, this hotel is really quiet (in fact, there is not a big traffic in this train station). And about the restaurant, I only used the formula "pension" which offers correct and good meals. It's also possible to order from "La carte" (I have not tested it), but the plates seems appetizing... When I was at this hotel, the staff spoke English.

Decent hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Situated 200m far from local train station, just across the road. Hotel restaurant was very nice, excelent food and service. They just a little bit struggle with English, but everytime we manage to get to agreement.

My wife and I had dinner at the "Terminus" in Porrentruy tonight. Honestly we're quite picky when it comes to food and service (thx to our swiss-french culture). Long story short, we had a wonderful time at the Terminus. The food is delightful, the menu is small (which is a good sign) but beautiful. They serve a typical french and local cuisine where the dishes are carefully prepared and beautifully presented and the service is simply brilliant, both perfect and warm, which is far from obvious. The "terminus" is not only a brilliant restaurant in Porrentruy but clearly among the best cuisine available in Switzerland. We're just looking forward to our next stay around here to have dinner there again.

The restaurant was every day verry good. The staff was Friendly. The rooms are clean, but at one side it was verre dank in the room.

Situated right across the Porrentruy train station, the location is ideal.||||The Suite was good with all amenities in place. ||||I can understand Porrentruy is in french speaking territory but no excuses for the staff who do not speak English. ||||Although the Breakfast was pretty much ordinary, I found the quality of meals at their restaurant as the only saving grace.||||Nothing spectacular about this place and I do not find a single reason compelling enough to keep coming back to this place.

My friend and I wanted to enjoy a peaceful lunch at this restaurant. On the website it said that it’s open till 3 pm. We arrived at 2pm. The staff informed us in a very unfriendly manner, that after 2pm they don’t serve food anymore. Certainly not a place I would go back to.

Good food for dinner, basic breakfast and hotel room. Clean and tidy. Basic hotel was worth staying in for the dinner.
