The lunch started off great, thanks to Karine, the owner, who was warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, once she left, the staff became quite unpleasant as if they did not want to be there, making the overall experience disappointing. That said, the food was absolutely delicious—clearly a highlight. If the staff were as attentive and passionate as Karine, this place would easily deserve 5 stars.

I want to start by saying that do not let these negative reviews scare you away ! Understand what to expect from a small hotel restaurant in a secluded fishing village. I've traveled about 80 percent of the Caribbean and this place made me fall in l9ve with the Caribbean once again. the Hotel and its staff are absolutely lovely. They made us a vegan meal which was light but quite nice . We made a reservationand the food came in 20 minutes. We speak very little French and they treated us kindly and spoke to us in fairly good English. My favorite part of dinner was when I ordered rum and she brought me the bottle with a separate bottle of cane juice snd a cup with limes. The room was quaint but comfortable. The town and it's people were genuine good hearted and the green cliffs , beaches and rivers are second to none. A place I will remember fondly and not soon forget.

We stayed one night at Tante Arlette and got a warm welcome and a drink. We had booked a superior room, but were a bit disappointed that it had no external window. The cleaning was also not perfect and there were spots on the madrass. Otherwise the room was ok. We decided to eat at the hotel but were surprised when the food arrived before we had selected from the menu. Apparently what we would eat was decided for us. That said, it tasted great. After the dinner we ordered rom from a local distillery and got the whole bottle to serve us ourself the amount we wanted. Breakfast was also good!

An authentic excellent hotel in the less touristed side of Martinique. Employees were all wonderful, helpful and friendly. Several spoke English which was very helpful. The food was very good and we would definitely stay there again. The room was nice and clean with a clean toilet and shower.

We stayed here overnight on a brief trip to Grand Riviere. Centrally located, there is ample street parking within a few metres walk. Greeted on arrival with a friendly face and a refreshing rum punch drink, all the staff without exception during our stay were very friendly and cheerful. |The rooms are simple but bright and welcoming and equipped with air conditioning. Plenty of hot water for the shower. They do provide dinner in the evening for guests but this does have to be booked in advance. Breakfast consists of yoghurt, bread and fresh fruit with a hot drink and juice which we found quite sufficient.|The small town itself is interesting and very authentic, not at all geared to tourism. Local people are all very friendly and there is an attractive church to visit. There is a pleasant sea front good for strolling in the evening and a few hundred meters from the centre of town there is a nice beach with a tropical backdrop. |

Authentic dishes and decor, but the waiting time was far too long. It’s worth taking the daily menu (fair price and good portions), but plan 2 hours for it to arrive. The fish dishes were average, compared to other restaurants on the island, where I had a better presentation and taste

When I visited Martinique I thought it was beautiful. Hotel Restaurant Tante Arlette is the first of many hotels that I have stayed at during my visit to Martinique and it was most certainly an experience. First things first, if you visit, you must rent a standard vehicle, It just makes traveling that much more fun with the volcanic and mountainous roads. My stay at this hotel was very nice. It almost felt like the location was at the bottom of what felt like a village. All the locals were nice, and they had a beautiful walk to where the ocean is. I stayed for dinner (oh boy do they have a lot of vegetarian options!) and I enjoyed everything. I even stayed for ice cream. The room was very cozy, and they have a hot top on the roof of the hotel. It was out of the way from where my boat was moored up, but worth the trip. Please drive slow when approaching this area as it is narrow roads. There are a couple of parking spots for the hotel, but if not, the beach parking is free, and not even a block away. The morning after my stay I went for a long run and enjoyed watching the sunrise and watching the city wake up. Their portion sizes for both breakfast and dinner is quite a handful but so good! You must visit if you have the opportunity.

We spent three nights at Tante Arlette while we explored the north of the island and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had a cleverly and attractively decorated room with a great attached shower room. We loved Grand'Riviere, it felt just as it was, the end of the road and the village was also interesting. The hotel, known for its food, certainly lived up to expectations with wonderful main courses, carefully cooked and presented. The only downside was the lack of variety in desserts, we did not want ice cream two nights running! Breakfast was also good. The terrace/lounge area upstairs is a peaceful place to sit and overall we would recommend this as a great place to stay.
