Waldhaus Am See is truly a magical place, perfectly located in the heart of St. Moritz. Nestled by the lake and close to the forest, it combines breathtaking scenery with the warmth and comfort of a traditional alpine stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character. Different areas create unique atmospheres, but my absolute favorite was the lounge: overlooking both the lake and the forest, it feels like stepping into a movie. The restaurant shares the same enchanting view, making it an ideal setting for a memorable dinner.
The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. Every detail of the service is cared for, and it’s easy to see how much the owner, Thomas, genuinely loves his work — his passion reflects in the entire experience.
For wine and whisky lovers, this is a paradise, as the hotel boasts an impressive and carefully curated selection.
Rooms are cozy, equipped with all the essentials, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Waking up to a lake view is pure happiness. A thoughtful touch I really appreciated: finding a backpack in the wardrobe, in case you forgot to bring your own.
Included in the price, there’s also a lovely Alpine Spa. It’s not too big, but has everything you could wish for: sauna, steam room, pool, and a tea area where you can enjoy the most delicious flavors.
Parking is private and conveniently right in front of the hotel, framed by a stunning view. Breakfast offers a generous spread of both sweet and savory options — from croissants and jams to eggs, cereals, and more.
Overall, the value for the quality here is outstanding. For me, it was nothing short of a 5-star stay
