A Remarkable Stay by the Shores of Lake St. Moritz This hotel enjoys an enviable location, set just beside the stunning St. Moritz lake. The atmosphere is serene and intimate, offering guests a perfect balance of comfort and tranquility. The staff stand out for their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality—always attentive, approachable, and impressively multilingual. Our room was generously sized for two and featured a spacious terrace with breathtaking lake views. The spa area felt private and refined, with excellent sauna facilities and a beautifully maintained pool. A particularly memorable experience was exploring the surroundings by mountain bike—courtesy of the hotel—on the scenic route from the lake to Pontresina, which felt nothing short of magical. Culinary offerings were another highlight. The dinners showcased regional products, prepared with care and creativity, complemented by an expertly curated wine list. The hotel also boasts an extensive whiskey collection, which is not to be missed and deserves recognition as a signature feature. Finally, special mention must go to Sandro, the manager, whose thoughtful recommendations and guidance elevated our experience and allowed us to fully appreciate the cultural and natural beauty of St. Moritz.

Waldhaus Am See is truly a magical place, perfectly located in the heart of St. Moritz. Nestled by the lake and close to the forest, it combines breathtaking scenery with the warmth and comfort of a traditional alpine stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character. Different areas create unique atmospheres, but my absolute favorite was the lounge: overlooking both the lake and the forest, it feels like stepping into a movie. The restaurant shares the same enchanting view, making it an ideal setting for a memorable dinner. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. Every detail of the service is cared for, and it’s easy to see how much the owner, Thomas, genuinely loves his work — his passion reflects in the entire experience. For wine and whisky lovers, this is a paradise, as the hotel boasts an impressive and carefully curated selection. Rooms are cozy, equipped with all the essentials, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Waking up to a lake view is pure happiness. A thoughtful touch I really appreciated: finding a backpack in the wardrobe, in case you forgot to bring your own. Included in the price, there’s also a lovely Alpine Spa. It’s not too big, but has everything you could wish for: sauna, steam room, pool, and a tea area where you can enjoy the most delicious flavors. Parking is private and conveniently right in front of the hotel, framed by a stunning view. Breakfast offers a generous spread of both sweet and savory options — from croissants and jams to eggs, cereals, and more. Overall, the value for the quality here is outstanding. For me, it was nothing short of a 5-star stay

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel & Restaurant Waldhaus am See. As a solo traveler, I felt warmly welcomed from the very beginning. Anna at reception was incredibly sweet and hospitable during check-in, which immediately set the tone for my stay. At the restaurant, the waiters Anton and Manuel were so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind—it made me feel right at home. I started with an Amaretto Sour as a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar, which was excellent, and the bartender was very friendly and welcoming. For dinner, I ordered the steamed sole, which was beautifully prepared, light, and delicious. The location is very convenient—just a short walk from St. Moritz station—and the hotel rooms are well-equipped with complete room and bath amenities. Everything about my stay was perfect, from the hospitality to the food and drinks, to the comfort of the hotel. I highly recommend Waldhaus am See to anyone visiting St. Moritz!

Magical location by the lake and forest, with stunning views everywhere. Cozy rooms (lake view highly recommended), friendly and attentive staff, and even a backpack provided in the wardrobe. Breakfast is rich and varied, and the Alpine Spa (sauna, steam room, pool, tea area) is a great bonus. Perfect for wine & whisky lovers thanks to their incredible selection. Private parking with a view. Outstanding value — truly a 5-star experience!

During my recent visit to St. Moritz, I had the pleasure of dining at Hotel & Restaurant Waldhaus am See, and the experience was truly memorable. The first thing that strikes you is the breathtaking view over Lake St. Moritz — it’s absolutely stunning. Whether you’re seated indoors by the large windows or out on the terrace, the tranquil lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks creates a magical atmosphere that elevates the entire dining experience. The food was delicious, prepared with care and beautifully presented. The menu offers a solid selection of local and international dishes, and everything we tried—from the starter to dessert—was fresh and flavorful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Service was prompt and attentive, with helpful recommendations provided when we asked. What really sets this place apart, however, is the unbeatable setting. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger, sip coffee or wine, and take in the serene alpine landscape. Whether you’re coming for lunch, dinner, or just drinks, Waldhaus am See is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting St. Moritz who wants a perfect combination of great food, warm service, and unforgettable views.

The hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the lake, within 5 minutes walk from the railway station. We requested to be picked up from the bahnhof by the hotel shuttle which was waiting for us when we got off the Glacier Express.|The Hotel Waldhaus must have one of the best locations in St. Moritz. We sauntered into old town St. Moritz in about 20 minutes taking the covered escalators from the lakeside up to the town.|We stayed for 2 nights in a spacious double room overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful view to the snow-capped mountains to the east and south and to old town of St. Moritz to the west.|The bedroom was spacious. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The window could be opened to provide fresh air. The bathroom was clean and modern with heated towel racks. |We had half board which included an extensive buffet breakfast and a 4 course dinner. We were very pleased with this choice. The quality of the food was very good. |The service in all aspects of the hotel was exceptional. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Thomas at Reception was exceptional, he couldn’t have done more to make our stay better. The waiter staff in the restaurant were very friendly, efficient and multilingual|We enjoyed sitting in the quiet and comfortable lounge for a drink overlooking the lake.|We would unhesitatingly recommend the hotel, it was the best hotel we stayed in during our train trip around Switzerland.

Definitely the best 3star hotel I have ever been to. The location, the view, the service - everything was just fantastic!! The world record holding whisky bar is fabulous and the staff so welcoming and kind. Breakfast buffet has a nice variety for different types of diets. Only room for improvement is the quality of the food for the dinner (a la carte) in the restaurant. Overall, I can’t wait to come back!!
