During my recent visit to St. Moritz, I had the pleasure of dining at Hotel & Restaurant Waldhaus am See, and the experience was truly memorable. The first thing that strikes you is the breathtaking view over Lake St. Moritz — it’s absolutely stunning. Whether you’re seated indoors by the large windows or out on the terrace, the tranquil lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks creates a magical atmosphere that elevates the entire dining experience. The food was delicious, prepared with care and beautifully presented. The menu offers a solid selection of local and international dishes, and everything we tried—from the starter to dessert—was fresh and flavorful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Service was prompt and attentive, with helpful recommendations provided when we asked. What really sets this place apart, however, is the unbeatable setting. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger, sip coffee or wine, and take in the serene alpine landscape. Whether you’re coming for lunch, dinner, or just drinks, Waldhaus am See is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting St. Moritz who wants a perfect combination of great food, warm service, and unforgettable views.

The hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the lake, within 5 minutes walk from the railway station. We requested to be picked up from the bahnhof by the hotel shuttle which was waiting for us when we got off the Glacier Express.|The Hotel Waldhaus must have one of the best locations in St. Moritz. We sauntered into old town St. Moritz in about 20 minutes taking the covered escalators from the lakeside up to the town.|We stayed for 2 nights in a spacious double room overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful view to the snow-capped mountains to the east and south and to old town of St. Moritz to the west.|The bedroom was spacious. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The window could be opened to provide fresh air. The bathroom was clean and modern with heated towel racks. |We had half board which included an extensive buffet breakfast and a 4 course dinner. We were very pleased with this choice. The quality of the food was very good. |The service in all aspects of the hotel was exceptional. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Thomas at Reception was exceptional, he couldn’t have done more to make our stay better. The waiter staff in the restaurant were very friendly, efficient and multilingual|We enjoyed sitting in the quiet and comfortable lounge for a drink overlooking the lake.|We would unhesitatingly recommend the hotel, it was the best hotel we stayed in during our train trip around Switzerland.

Definitely the best 3star hotel I have ever been to. The location, the view, the service - everything was just fantastic!! The world record holding whisky bar is fabulous and the staff so welcoming and kind. Breakfast buffet has a nice variety for different types of diets. Only room for improvement is the quality of the food for the dinner (a la carte) in the restaurant. Overall, I can’t wait to come back!!

Great location close to station and easy walk to town centre. The lakeside setting has wonderful views, especially from the huge picture windows in the dining room. Very good buffet breakfast with plenty of variety and all fresh and tasty. I had standard single room which I knew would be small but I wasn't expecting such an awkward layout. Just be aware that the room layout can be different to the pictures on the website. For instance, not only was the electric jug hard to access but I had to put it on the floor to use a power point near the room entrance as there was no other power point it would reach! On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and I greatly appreciated the supportive pillow from their pillow menu. A nice modern bathroom although I did find the shower enclosure very small and cramped (and I'm a small size). I would stay here again as it has so many good points - but I'd opt for a larger room.

Wife and I stayed June 4-6. Beautiful hotel on the lake, the staff were exceptional and the facilities were fantastic. Free shuttle to the center of town, easy access to path around lake. To top it all off, they have the largest whisky bar in the world. You will have a great stay at Hotel Waldhaus am See.

Lovely hotel right on the lake with a wonderful view. Comfortable room with a great shower! The only meal I had was breakfast and it was a very, very nice buffet. I was only there for one night, but would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the facilities more.

If you’re in St. Moritz, don’t miss Waldhaus am See. The whisky bar is the world’s largest and absolutely stunning. Special thanks to Sasha, who made our tasting unforgettable, guiding us through great and affordable whiskies, even as beginners. The experience was perfected with water between tastings and Swiss pistachio chocolate. Also, the lake view from our room was breathtaking. Highly recommended!

The staff, the room, the view. Everything was great!!! The breakfast in the morning!! One truly amazing thing is the whiskey collection, the largest in the world!! Over 2,500 bottles, the most expensive...... 72 year old McAllan at 10,000 euros a drink!!
