Caught in the September floods, we came upon this hotel, and what a place to be stranded. Supposed to stay one night, we stayed three. All a delight.|A family run hotel in middle of town, we decided to eat in one night and go elsewhere, but surprised by the food quality ate there every night. |There is no pool, and a pretty basic sauna, but to us that as an irrelevancy. The rooms were picture perfect, but the main attraction was the friendliness of all the staff.|Sounds idyllic, but it was.

A beautiful hotel, we treated ourselves to one of the best rooms for the night and it was stunning. Really classy, huge, spotless room and en-suite. The best hotel room we have stayed in. The staff were just lovely, really kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, choice of everything you could think of, it was delicious. A real treat, it was great value. loved our stay here. Thank you so much

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Hotel Post. The rooms are very pleasant, the staff helpful and the food excellent. Dinner in the new restaurant was delicious, and breakfasts plentiful. When an item was left in our room, the hotel were happy to mail it on to our next destination - excellent service.

Excellent location, inviting building, free parking just steps away. I expected more sofisticated vintage furniture in our room. It was spacious but pretty hot on the highest floor. With open windows we slept well as we dont like the air con. Toilet was really tiny - ok for us, but if you are close to 200 cm you might have difficulties to get in... Hotel is also dog friendly and the charge is minimal. Personnel was atentive, pleasent, The buffet breakfast is very delicious with lots of local or home made offer.

Fantastic location right next to the Abbey, clean and cool rooms, and lovely staff. I was stressing out about almost missing breakfast, but the receptionist at the restaurant was super accommodating. Truly a five star hotel.

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. My recent visit left me utterly disappointed and disgusted. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an ambiance that spelled trouble. The odor of stale food hung heavily in the air, and the sight of unkempt tables only added to my apprehension. Let's talk about the food. It tasted as if it had been sitting out for weeks, devoid of any freshness or flavor. Each bite was a struggle, and I found myself questioning the quality and safety of what was being served. The state of the dishes was appalling, with visible dirt and grime coating every surface. It was clear that hygiene was not a priority in this establishment. As if the food wasn't bad enough, the drinkware was equally horrifying. The glasses emitted a foul odor reminiscent of unwashed socks, making it impossible to enjoy any beverage. And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I discovered small hairs floating in my soup. It was a nauseating revelation that further cemented my decision never to return. The view into the kitchen only added to my dismay. It resembled a war zone, with chaos reigning supreme. The frantic pace at which the dishwashers operated was alarming, as if they were more concerned with speed than cleanliness. It was evident that corners were being cut left and right, compromising the quality and safety of the food being served. What baffles me the most is how this restaurant managed to garner four stars. Are those ratings bought, or are people simply unaware of the dismal conditions here? Either way, it's a concerning thought that this establishment is deceiving its patrons and misleading potential customers. In conclusion, this restaurant is a prime example of what happens when hygiene and quality control are neglected. I urge anyone considering dining here to think twice and explore other options in Melk. Save yourself the disappointment and stomachache – this place is best avoided at all costs.

Hotel Zur Post Hotel was an outstanding example of hospitality! When we checked in, the owner's sister, Ursula could not have been kinder. She helped us in multiple ways and then we settled in to coffee and cake in the little front restaurant. The breakfast was delicious and included the best homemade apricot jam and much personal service by the owner, Marguerite. This was a memorable stay in the lovely village of Melk. It had that feel of an owner who really cares about her property and her guests. And Melk was wonderful!

This was our 3rd visit over the past 10 years, a great place to stay while exploring this scenic section of the Danube. The food is great, and the Ebners and staff are charming. Our rooms were large and comfortable. Our baths were large and well appointed, with a good shower. We enjoyed their 4-course dinner offered with half-board, which included a good salad bar with plenty of choices. That set menu changed daily, offering a choice of 2 mains (meat dish or vegetarian). We enjoyed their Salzl Zweigelt, offered at an affordable price — and their Sekt by the glass — in elegant stemware. We also enjoyed their bar, and their Aperol spritzes. We highly recommend, and hope to return.

Yelp
Order the Marillen knodel which is the apricot dumpling. It's made to order so there's a little wait. Well worth it. This restaurant is located on a cute street in Melk. Don't know about the rest of the menu/service etc. but this was worth the visit specifically for the apricot dumpling. Not really sweet. The outer part is actually made of potato and flour, add an apricot and boil. Then rolled in bread crumbs sauteed with butter. They also had a nice apricot sauce to add.

Yelp
Very pleasant small restaurant. There were several options for vegetarians, including spinach, mushroom & cheese pierogi. The pierogi were perfectly prepared with freshly made pasta and served with an excellent salad of micro greens and fresh vinaigrette. My mate's fried chicken with potato salad and greens was excellent as was the local Riesling chosen by our waiter Peter who was fluent in English.

Yelp
The dinner we had here was fabulous. I had fried chicken and it was great. My wife had grilled chicken that was very tender & flavorful and she said it was the best she had eaten on our 2 week trip.
