Hotel Restaurante Sotres

The hotel is perfectly located for hikes, the rooms are clean and more modern than what appears on the website of the hotel. This was the only place where I saw a cleaning lady cleaning the buttons of the elevator! The rooms were really spotless. The two gentlemen that work there are of few words but very efficient and polite. We had dinner included in our reservation and we got a set menu which was always good and very filling, I would recommend checking beforehand if you have any particularly dietry restrictions. The breakfats is standard Spanish, with cold cuts, bread, cereal and bread. You can also order for 5eu more breakfast items off a menu. They also offer lunch packages for hikers for 7eu, you will get bread, ham (a lot of it!), cheese and an apple. Totally worth the price. Wifi works perfectly. All in all excellent experience for a fair price.

This hotel is at the end of town (a mere 5 minute walk to the other end of town!), nestled in the mountains. There are picnic benches on the front porch - ideally for after-hike drinks. Guestrooms are spacious, clean and basic. Vaulted ceilings for top floor rooms. I had a nice big window with views of the surrounding greenery. No fridge or hot water pot in room. Hot, powerful shower felt great. There was a tiny tv hanging in the corner. There is a large game room with books and games and a very large dining area. Our stay included breakfast (cold buffet) and dinner (with bottles of wine) in the restaurant. Hotel staff were a bit grumpy and snarly!

Quite simple: nice and clean rooms, very delicious dinner, and friendly, very courteous service. A place to come back to.

Thoroughly enjoyable home cooked meals, clean & comfortable quarters, and it’s nestled in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Despite the language barrier the owner was friendly and charming. Highly recommend!

LOVED IT HERE! perfect location (Sotres is tiny) and the most loving helpful staff. We advised in advance that 1 X vegan and 1 X celiac, and the food for dinner was amazing. Home cooked with so much love and care, just delicious. Can't recommend highly enough.

Simple, but very clean rooms, with everything you need, in an excellent, quiet location in Sotres. The hotel's fixed dinner menu (with the half board option) is traditional, homestyle cooking, excellent for those planning to hike or cycle the next day.Took off one star for the underwhelming breakfast.

We had a brilliant stay at Hotel Sotres. The staff could not have been more helpful, providing special gluten free dishes and bread for one of our party. The food was excellent including local specialities and the staff made a special effort to wait until our taxi arrived to take us for our trips in the morning and even transport people locally if the taxi did not arrive. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

I stayed here in May as part of a walking holiday with Mac Adventures. A lovely part of the world and I did four solo. I was driven to the walk starts and walked back to the hotel Fantastic walking, good weather. Not too hot, very little rain. Good bird life.||||The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The staff speak Spanish with limited English, but hey your in Spain. This area is well visited but it isn't anglified like some of the coastal mediterranean areas. The food is authentic home-cooked fare with quality local ingredients. Good quantities for an active holiday and my deal included a bottle of wine. I asked to try the local tripe dish which was good but not quite a la mode de Caen.||||I was the only guest for three of my four nights, which was nice
