Hotel Rigi Kaltbad

Superb location and lovely spa. I arrived early to drop my luggage and had time to hike around the mountain before checking in. The staff kindly recommended some trails. After I had a couple rounds in the spa. Definitely make sure to not miss the crystal bath located through the spa, adult only and completely serene. Dinner was good, but a bit pricey with the mandatory 2 course. I ordered pasta with potato chips! Breakfast had a nice buffet with plenty of options. Room was comfortable with a mountain view. I would easily stay again.

Simply wonderful. Service is beyond compare. Food is as good as anywhere I’ve ever eaten. The rooms are comfortable. Extremely serene and family friendly. A great place to get off your media and reconnect with nature.

this hotel is a gem, from check in to the spa, the facilities which were spotless, to the dinner in the restaurant, all amazing. the staff were also incredibly friendly and made all the effort to make me and my dog welcome! i would come back in a heartbeat. highly recommend

The rooms were 1960s style concrete design, which made better since after leading that 2 previous grand hotels burned to the ground. So the rather plain room was not enhanced by the sparse toiletries. There was one bottle of hand soap and one bottle of multipurpose bath soap. But the VIEWS! Yes, you get the same view on a day trip up, but when you spend the night or better yet two, you get to watch the clouds and mountains go thru all the emotions of a day. That's where the beauty of the resort lies. The restaurant was amazing at every turn . The breakfast buffet was amazing with everything from from healthy to sweet to savory. The dinners were carefully prepared and served with flair and exquisite dinnerwear. It was sturdy as a mountain restaurant service could be but beautiful and varied in its selection of plates bowls and glasses. The morning buffet included vegetables sliced and served in little glasses and a full compliment of Vegan savory treats including cashew cheese.

This hotel was wonderful namely because of Stephan, Zoiltan, and Mohamed, who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, cheerful, and so very special. They took all the extra attentions, made us smile, and committed to satisfying all of our needs. If it wasn’t for them, I am certain our stay would not have been as pleasant. The food was delicious (they catered to our vegetarian diet) and apart from a failed pasta, the meals were memorable. The rooms are comfortable, the spa is lovely, and the hotel is conveniently located for several nearby hikes.

Very similar to other review this hotel is a cliche of Switzerland: expensive, frugel, hospitality at its worst . But for the mountain , a big disappointment. The bottom line - to enjoy the mountain , you can take the transportation from the lake and do not have to stay captive in the hotel . The rooms are very basic (very) bathroom is hostel level . Now the dinner staff were extremely rude. Clearly they know you have ed no choice . As for the Spa .. facility is nice but it no relaxation - more a family resort . It's ok but don't advertise serenity . The treatment was not professional. So even if it's not part of the hotel , the spa is strongly advertised. No , definitely not recommended.

We had a very good experience. The view from the room was amazing. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options. We also had a nice time at the bar, in a very cosy atmosphere with the fireplace. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

The location is so beautiful, with stunning views, and the internal connection to the Spa is very convenient. However, the breakfast was poorly organised and food quality could be better. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with their service since the heater in our room did not work (-5 °C outside) and the only option provided was extra blankets (no room change, nobody available in-house to check the heater, no extra electric heater...), so we could not enjoy the room.
