Hotel Rigi Vitznau

This hotel was just perfect. A stone's throw from the lake and the cog railway, its locstion is ideal. |Our welcome was so friendly.|The rooms were very comfortable with balconies that provided wonderful views of the lake and gave one the opportunity to enjoy a cigsr without breaking any room rules.|The food, wine and service were all excellent.|Overall a great place to stay and very good value for money.

You know its good when you're eating amongst locals! My husband and i enjoyed local beer and wine, and great food. Service was very nice as well.

Five stars are too little for this place; it deserves so much more for its exceptional service, unforgettable atmosphere, and the incredible experience it offers. Highly recommended!

My family arrived in the area without reservations anywhere, and they were able to accommodate us. I didn't have high expectations, but the food was absolutely amazing! Everything was done with care and attention to detail, and everyone enjoyed it. The fish options were what most had, and loved. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

This review is over 50 years old!! When working in Germany in 1969 for a few years, on a solo trip I discovered this Hotel!! Just driving leisurely through Switzerland, and stopped in Vitznau. Hotel was WONDERFUL at that time and the restaurant WAS SUPERB even then! I returned several times during my 3 years in Germany. In researching Vitznau this evening BEHOLD, beyond hope, hotel is still there and still providing excellent service and food! I cannot say how many poignant memories this brought back! And when my mother came to Europe to visit me, we stopped there and spent the night - it was her FAVORITE spot of all the places we went, including Rome, Pisa and more. My dream would be to get back there one more time - and who knows, I might just MAKE IT!! Congratulations on being so outstanding for over half a century.🎉😁

We ate at the restaurant. The food and service was amazing. My wife loved the tomato cream soup. We also had the authentic swiss fondue. It was amazing esp on a cold night. Highly recommend this great restaurant. One can see the pride of ownership. Also try the hot and homemade apple strudel.

We had our dinner there and oh-my-god it felt like home! Their orange horseradish soup and chicken curry were absolutely delicious. We cannot give it any less than 5 stars 🌟 Thank you for the amazing food!

Very warm welcome at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble as they helped us to park our car. They also let us borrow a couple of electric adaptors (we incorrectly thought Switzerland was standard European supply). The rooms are a little dated, but very clean and well equipped with daily maid service.||||The bar and restaurant were both very well staffed and run. The restaurant food was actually a revelation, and we shared and enjoyed a terrific pork schnitzel and salmon dish served with watermelon. The restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday, but the hotel made us reservations elsewhere. Breakfasts were splendid with plenty of choice at the self-service buffet.||||There is the mountain train station a few metres from the hotel, and it is a MUST to go up the Queen of The Mountains. The views are fabulous. There is also a number of walking trails and boat trips easily accessible too.
