Chal, the owner of Hotel Rio Vista, is a very engaging guy, with a good command of English. Although the hotel is seemingly always a work in progress, it still is a very good value for the money, especially the rooms fronting the river. Breakfast was tasty, of good quality and plentiful. Chal is a great tour guide, as well as hotel manager, and with advance notice, he'll be at the train station, waiting for you, and take you back at departure time. On arrival, don't be put off by the entrance to the place; instead, appreciate the other side of the entry. Remember, be prepared to pay cash, in pesos, which can be obtained from an ATM in town.
