Hotel-Ristorante Schlössli

Only came here to eat but so happy we did. Easy ride on the 24 bus and amazing. We had just come from Italy and the pasta and Caesar salad here was as good as we had there. The staff is lovely and the outdoor views overlook mountain.

My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to both stay in the hotel and eat at the restaurant. I’ll start with the hotel: it is away from the hustle and bustle of Lucerne (about a 20 minute bus ride from the train station) and conveniently located right across the street from a bus stop in Meggen. Check in was easy. The rooms are very no-frills. They weren’t horrible, just simple. The room was clean enough and the beds were very comfortable. I found the room to be a little noisy: we were wondering if it shared a wall with the restaurant kitchen… but at night it was quiet. Two major downsides to the hotel: 1) we visited during the summer and it was very hot and stuffy inside the rooms, since there is no AC. You can’t open the door or windows to let some air in because the mosquitoes there are horrendous. 2) It is located meters away from a clock tower that chimes excessively every 15 minutes between 7 am and 10 pm. No sleeping in here! Next, the restaurant: we ordered a salad, the stracciatella, and the Dante pizza. All were very delicious! The service was quite slow though (I know, I know, it is the European way, but after spending 3 weeks in Europe at this point, I still felt it was particularly slow).

Liked · The bed was very comfortable. The room is a good size and very clean, with the basic amenities you'd expect. The location was convenient for my trip, which is why I booked it. A nice Italian restaurant is also part of the hotel.||||Disliked · Couldn't adjust the heating and the room was quite warm. I tried opening the windows, but as the room is on the ground floor, with direct access to a terrace, there were other guests smoking just outside, and it smelled. I have stayed in Luzern in other hotels before, where I was offered a travel pass for the public transport of the city zone, which was not the case here. The hotel is next to a church bell tower, which rings every 15min between 7am and 10pm.

This was our second stop en route to interlakken. The hotel was clean and tidy and we had a room at the rear of the property with all the usual amenities. The decor was a little outdated but was fine. The owner couldnt do enough for us and even paid for our first drink upon arrival. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was 15chf each and was the traditional fayre. Overall we enjoyed our 1 night here and would use it again for an overnight stop. The owner and staff were very helpfull.

Was here last month, getting a pizza late at night at the last minute. Had a wonderful interaction with Dorina and Kitty (when they were in splits of laughter by trying to say my name). Hope to see you guys again!

Everything is awesome, the hospitality was really really great. especially Dorina and Kitti really nice persons, friendly staff. I will never forget the stay at here. very happy! Keep it up :)

Our first time yesterday and we will surely be back! Best cordon bleu we have ever had combined with a fantastic quick, welcoming and friendly service. Highly recommend!

We have booked this Hotel on the Internet,it had some decent critics. Well,the rooms are very outdated,very small,there is church in the backyard which rings the bells every 30 minutes. The room however is clean,but it is hard for two people to move around.The room price for that kind of room to high.For this money you can do better around here. The restaurant is Italian and the food was very good,the staff was friendly.would I come back?, probably not.

Came here twice during a short visit to Meggen as there aren't a lot of other dining options in this suburb of Lucerne. There is a lovely garden for dining alfresco but they were jam packed the first night I visited and the manager said no way would they be able to seat me there. So I said I'd ordered to go. (The inside is a bit small, I'm sure nicely cozy in pre-covid times.) It took forever but I finally got my Schlossi pasta. It was pretty tasty and very hot, and hit the spot. On another night I got there late, on a colder evening and got to enjoy my very delicious pizza all by myself in the garden. Ha!

We arrived in Meggen late on a Monday night and Scholossli was the only place in town open. The food and the wait staff were amazing! If we were local to Meggen this would without a doubt be our go to spot!!
