We spent 2 weeks here. We also had our wedding here. Sophia the wedding planner was amazing and made our day simply perfect. The hotel was lovely. Servers in the buffet were fantastic an absolute credit to the hotel. Santol, Karen and Damien are amazing rhey absolutelymade our stay a true pleasure. Bar staff were super friendly especially krystal in the lobby bar. Our maid did a fab job on our room daily and a pleasureto chat with. I would definitely stay here again just for the server's! They absolutely made our time there unforgettable. The beaches are amazing. We will definitely be back

I had a wonderful time Jamaican people really knows how to entertain. It was entertainment every night. From Karaoke, Aqua Dancers, Beach Bash, Pool parties. It was really fun. I can't complain. The only thing was ignoring was them big bugs. Other than that it was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing it felt good to taste something different. My off resort activities was great. I really enjoyed my leg massage with the lime scrub. Your Country treat tourist very well. I just wish y'all payrate was more because y'all work really hard. I will book another stay when I come back to Jamaica.

I’m a big fan of RIU they are always my first choice for holiday accommodation. We had a fabulous stay at the palace at tropical bay. While it isn’t the freshest RIU we have stayed at the location and the friendly staff made it perfect. The room was a bit tired and some of the fittings could do with a freshen up, the mirrors in the bathroom were peeling but everything was clean and spotless. The maids were excellent and efficient. The buffet staff were just brilliant and so friendly a real credit to the hotel. Food was fine but not the best I’ve had a RIU’s, more to personal taste rather than lack of quality or selection. Vegetarianism doesn’t seem much of a thing in Jamaica but there was suffice for me. The location is absolutely breathtaking and I could happily spend forever there. The entertainment team were amazing and gave 100% all the time and the bar staff efficient and attentive. While not my most favourite RIU I would happily go back and Jamaica has been my most favourite holiday ever.

The beach at RIU Palace Tropical Bay is truly stunning — soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and breathtaking sunsets. It’s one of the most beautiful stretches of beach I’ve ever experienced. The staff are also incredibly warm and welcoming; everyone we interacted with went out of their way to be kind and helpful, which made our stay feel relaxed and enjoyable. That said, one issue really impacted our experience. The resort advertises a clear non-smoking policy, but unfortunately, it is not being enforced. During our stay, we witnessed multiple people smoking near and even vaping inside the pools, as well as directly beneath nonsmoking signs. When staff were approached, the response we heard was that guests could smoke “as long as nobody complains.” That effectively puts the responsibility on paying guests to police each other, which is uncomfortable and unfair — especially for those of us who specifically chose this resort because of its published smoking restrictions. We recently stayed at RIU Palace Costa Mujeres, where the nonsmoking policy was strictly enforced, and it made a huge difference in the atmosphere. It’s disappointing that Tropical Bay does not maintain the same standard, as it diminishes an otherwise wonderful experience. This resort has so much to offer — an incredible beach, great food, and genuinely friendly staff — but we hope management takes guest health and comfort seriously by properly upholding their nonsmoking policies in the future.

This hotel although a little tired in places , we found to be one of the best RIU palaces we have stayed at the staff was great , very kind and at tentative, nothing was to much trouble, we had a really good time here, the staff all work hard to make your stay as good as it possibly can be, the rooms are clean and tidy , the bars are well stocked, the staff in the lobby bar were very good. the food was of a good standard, the pools are clean and tidy the beach is to die for, a big thank you to all the hard working staff at this hotel who made our stay so good. all the forgotten ones you never see in the background in the kitchens administration, its a massive team effort keep up the good work.

What a wonderful time we had. From check in to check out everything went smoothly. The staff was helpful and caring, just give a little respect and you get respect back. Give a smile and greeting and you get it back. Be kind and you’ll get it back. |The rooms are great. People say the rooms are outdated but are you there to live in the room? The A/C works great as does the minibar fridge. No problems with the room at all. The room was always clean. |The food is fantastic. We ate only at the buffet and there was so much variety we didn’t know where to start. Can’t starve here that’s for sure. |And of course the beach. What can I say except GORGEOUS. We spent most our time at the beach. Yes the sunbeds are a little “used” but spread your towel on it and you’ll be just fine. If you’re that fussy that you insist on having a totally clean sunbed, you shouldn’t be at the beach. |The resort is definitely something everyone needs to experience. It’s beautiful, clean, and very welcoming. Just always remember YOU make your own vacation good or bad, you choose

Loved everything about this place This is the best Riu I’ve been to so far. The food was great for it to be resort food. I usually starve on vacation but I was so stuffed from everything. Staff is wonderful and attentive My rooms were cleaned so well every day and were consistently checked on by staff. I will definitely be back even tho it’s a tad far from the airport
