Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay

Our stay here was amazing and excellent value for $. We stayed for 3 days and didn't leave the resort once. My 3 year old had a blast and is still talking about the trip weeks later (I am posting my review late!). Pool was fantastic, beach was amazing, food is great, the service can't be beat. The nightly entertainment was such a lovely treat as well. All staff is beyond friendly and welcoming. Would come back in a heartbeat!

The beach and water were absolutely stunning. One of our all time favorite beaches for sure 10/10. The fish and fruit were amazing and the lobster I had at the steakhouse definitely one of my favorite. Resort definitely needs some updates. AC in our room wasn’t really working and bed and pillows weren’t comfortable. Service overall was ok could definitely improve on service. We asked for extra pillows and took them over two hours to get them so just little work for improvement there. Would stay again for sure just for the beach and location but I do hope they improve the resort and service a bit.

Amazing time at the resort! The staff was incredible for the most part and the facilities were very clean and welcoming. A lot of activities to do. The restaurants were good, but very hard to book or utilize the app at all, and the staff will keep directing you to use it even though it’s not great nor is making a reservation through it a given. The beach and water are beautiful and felt very safe. The hidden gem is the local bar down the beach, about a 5 min walk. The office of Nature!! Do not miss out on the vibes and fresh lobster. ||FYI, there are a lot of families and kids running around at all times. ||||Beware the staff/resort photographers will stalk you, especially if you have woman with you. Seemed like they would appear out of thin air and hound them, the second I left the lady’s alone.

I love, love, love the service at this hotel. The rooms were clean and maid service was available daily. The buffet choices were abundant, well prepared and quit delicious. It was a mix of the familiar with local dishes. The special food nights were excellent!!! While there was no dedicated lunch, there was lunch available at the beach at the jerk chicken hut and from a few if the 24-hour snack bars. Getting drinks on the beach was never a problem. The staff was very attentive and responsive. They kept the drinks flowing. Overall, the staff worked to make sure everyone ghad a good time and tried to accommodate special requests as best as they could, like making umbrellas available when there were downpours, or bringing an iron up if one was missing or making a lower floor room available if there were mobility issues. I hate a wonderful time!!!

We’ve stayed at Riu Palace Tropical Bay numerous times, we love it, and we keep coming back year after year. Over the years we tried different places in DR, Mexico, Montego Bay, Negril, and other places. But we keep coming back to Riu Palace Tropical Bay. The location is outstanding, and the resort is great with friendly and helpful staff. The ocean is calm and clear. The beach can use some more shade, but you can always find shade under the trees. The rooms are clean. The food is good, we enjoyed the Italian and Japanese restaurants very much.||We highly recommend this 5-star resort. Special thanks to Julian and Michael for always making our stay special. ||

This place was absolutely amazing. I read so many reviews prior to going and thought the trip was going to be a bust, but truly it was the most relaxing and quaint all inclusive I have ever been to. The staff were incredibly kind, the food was good (Italian restaurant was so delicious we ate there 2 times), and the beach and Jamaica blue waters— the chefs kiss. The cleaning service was amazing (they came by 2x a day) so we always came back to a clean room! They even added ribbons to a birthday banner I had hung up for a birthday we were celebrating! Just incredible hospitality. Make sure to book your reservations for the restaurants when they open (2 days in advance). We ate at them all and they were all great, with excellent service and tasty cuisine. If you love a smaller all inclusive where everything is in a central location and you don’t have to take golf carts to go to and from anything in the resort then this is your place!!

We enjoyed our Christmas/New Years stay at RIU The resort is due for an overhaul. The beach furniture is awful. The chairs and tables are dirty and full of bird poop every day. The bar and restaurant staffs were amazing. Our housekeeper, Crystal was fantastic. The food was just ok. My one complaint is about the Spa front desk staff. They are not very caring and act as if you, the client is interrupting their day. The massages were great but the front staff is a big turnoff.

Hello. We are here on our honeymoon and it has not been a good experience at all. Our room has no air conditioning at all for the last 5 days. We have called the front desk a few times to ask about any update and we get a different answer each time. We also have not been able to make any dinner reservations for any of the restaurants through the app. Today, the power went out for 15 minutes when I was in the shower. I slipped and fell when trying to get to a light so I can see. This has ruined our honeymoon.
