Perfect location on the beach with plenty of shade from palm trees. Service from every single staff member was fantastic and everyone was polite and friendly. Food in the buffet and a la Carte restaurants was delicious. Always plenty available in the buffet and was always fresh and hot. The Jerk hut on the beach was fantastic and the food there was also amazing. Everywhere including bars and restaurants was spotlessly clean. Our room had the perfect view of the beach and sea and was a good standard. It did however occasionally have a damp smell if the air con wasn't always on. This didn't impact our stay. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Jamaica

I also am going to write a review....an honest one. I was planning my first solo trip and of course I wanted to come back to Jamaica, my happy place. Whenever I go somewhere or do something reviews are the first thing I read and I always take to good with the bad. I contemplated coming to Tropical Bay because of some of those reviews, but I am sooo glad I chose this amazing place. Granted, this is not my first time in Jamaica so I don't need to discuss the roads and all the other irrelevant things that take away from the review of this place. When you travel, you have to have and open mind...not everything is going to be like home.|From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and Jameson at the reception desk got me checked in quickly. Paul, the concierge, promptly grabbed my luggage and escorted me to my room. My room was immaculate...and I thank Danya for that. I never had any issues with my room, it was clean and smelled so good. She was an amazing room attendant and respected my privacy. After traveling all day I was hungry and quickly realized there was food served at all times of the day. I chose to eat buffet style everyday since I was by myself and the food was very good. The dining staff was also wonderful...so thank you Nadeen, Shane, and Samuel. I soon found myself mingling around the adult pool bar and met Andrew and a wonderful bar staff. Nobody compares to this bar crew...here's to Judith, Theodeen, Andre, Gregory, SIllion, Geovan, Laura, Bevan, Crystal, and of course Richard. Everyday I was always met and greeted with great conversations and smiles. In fact, i never came across 1 person who worked there that did not speak or acknowledge I was there...always asking, "How yuh stay or Wah Gwaan?" The beach is also wonderful, clear water, white sand and a clean space to enjoy the hot sun and the glorious sunsets. there was not time during my stay that I felt unsafe. This is a quiet resort and it was very much appreciated when one wants to relax and have some peace. My overall experience was way beyond my expectations and I will now return year after year. Jamaica has always held a special place to me and it never disappoints.....well neither does the RIU Palace Tropical Bay. THANK YOU ALL for an amazing vacation and making me feel like family. As I always say...it's never good-bye...it's see you later.

I can't say enough about our amazing vavcation. I surprised my girlfriend for her 50th Birthday. I mean her 25th. 😆 We arrived Oct 20th and left Oct 24th. We were greeted by Beverley at the front desk along with some wonderful cocktails. We upgraded our room to ocean front and was well with the price. The food was amazing both at the buffet and the restaurants. The staff is amazing and make sure to tip them becuase this is their life and they work extremely hard. The bar tenders Geo, Sterilon Ande and Vanessa were awesome always a laugh at the pool bar. The resort was immaculate and the beach well.. if you have that favorite screen saver on your computer with palm trees and crystal clear water then that is RIP beach. The staff had accommodations for us at the Crystal French restaurant which, we were greeted with a very nice table and happy birthday candles. They surprised us with a birthday cake. Thank you staff. They had shows every night and they were great. 3 pools always cleaned every morning and at night. They have great activities for the adults and kids as well. The carribean jerk hut from 12-3 the best jerk chicken I ever had. The beach like a said was breathtaking. We did go on snorkeling excursion 2 times. 1 with a glass bottom boat and that was well worth it. Just amazing marine life. We did mange to get out before this horrible hurricane and I want to send out my prayers to each and everyone one on the island of Jamaica. The cleaning service staff was amazing too. We will be back and thus time we are coming in numbers. Thank you again for everything you made our trip amazing and allowed me to relax and be myself again.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Riu Palace Tropical Bay! From the moment we arrived, the Riu team went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. Every single staff member we encountered truly impressed us with their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. Special shoutouts to: • Lyana, Krystal, Sharon, Alecia, and Bianca at the lobby bar – you made every visit so enjoyable • Gregory at the pool bar and Romain at the night bar – your service was exceptional • Omar at the steakhouse and Samuel at the Italian restaurant – the à la cartes were absolutely top-notch, and Samuel got us in seamlessly • Edgar and Junior, the chefs – your dishes were outstanding, and we could tell you put so much care into every plate • Laura by the pool and beach – thank you for your friendly and attentive service • Judith at the beach – the little touches, like bringing me water to stay hydrated, made a big difference Every interaction went above and beyond expectations, and it’s clear the team genuinely cares about making guests feel special. The à la cartes were excellent, the drinks were perfect, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet luxurious. The beach was outstanding. Water was so warm, no seaweed at all. We left feeling so impressed and grateful. Riu Palace Tropical Bay is a must-visit, and the staff alone make it unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back.

I’ve just returned from my 8th stay at this wonderful hotel – twice this year alone! It truly is a lovely, relaxing place, set on the most beautiful beach.||All of the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. |A special shoutout to the entertainment team – they’re amazing! So hardworking, welcoming, and they genuinely go above and beyond to get to know everyone and ensure your stay is unforgettable. |There’s also a great daily schedule with the RIU Fit team if you want to stay active while enjoying your vacation.||The food is consistently excellent – fresh, with lots of variety every day. From the bar staff to the lifeguards, everyone plays a part in making this place feel special.||We even had our family from Jamaica visit for the day, and they were warmly welcomed and had the most amazing time with us.||Already counting down the days until our return in April!

The staff at this resort are absolutely wonderful. Pleasant smiles and genuine conversation made it feel very comfortable and warm. The food was delicious in all the restaurants. The beach was clean and the water warm we had exceptional service and every need was met in a quick manner. ||All of this happened while they knew that hurricane Melissa was looming in the distance. My sisters and I have nothing but praise for everyone and although our vacation was cut short, we will return as soon as we can to offer our support.

Lovely hotel set on perfect bay, you can walk the beach left or right for about 15 mins and enjoy calm clear Caribbean waters and friendly jamaican smiles. If you turn right head past the blue shack shops and you end up at Riu Negril where the water isn't as clear but beach is full of shells and party atmosphere. Do stop at the blue shack shops, plenty of souvenirs and chat, don't be afraid, you're welcome and safe. Hotel is fine, typical Riu, plenty of good food choices, lots of cocktails, thanks Krystal and Ali/coco/janel for the chat and masterpiece cocktails. Room was fine, cleaned to perfection and mini bar restocked daily. Dining staff attentive and thank you Maxwell and Amoy for looking after us at breakfast and all the ladies who welcomed us lunchtimes, especially Jackie Williams. Special shout out to the animation team who work so hard and have a million talents, singing and dancing and masters of entertainment, Spotlight needs a show of his own, he can conjure up a quiz when its raining, sing, dance and gives 110%, what a gem the Riu has in him, very clever, funny and talented. We've loved our stay. Made lots of beautiful memories and friends. Thank you Jamaica 🇯🇲 xx

Staff were amazing, especially Ashee and Kreistan in the Restaurant. Plenty of options with the food on display Good levels of Drinks also, when they served Beef on the bone, or indeed Steaks they were mainly medium. Only other negativity, in our opinion the buoys where you can swim too, need to be at least another 10 meters out. Then another line 5 meters after that as a no man's land. Then it keeps swimmers from the boats who pull the inflatables along. As i experienced snorkeling along the rope and Buoys, only to have the boat followed by the inflatable, whizzing past my head within 2 feet, accident waiting to happen
