Exploring Italy’s Rosato Regions on a Five-Day Road Trip

"You’ll have to fight Milanese for a lake-view balcony at the airy 40-room Rivalago in sleepy Sulzano, parked directly on Iseo, a relaxed anti-Como."

If I could give this hotel 10 stars out of 5, I would. Beautiful location, great room, but the staff was just incredible. I had trouble parking my car, and everyone enthusiastically teamed up to help me get it into the garage. Later, because apparently my luck isn’t very good, I slipped and hurt my shoulder. The owner of the hotel (who ended up parking my car himself), kindly offered to help however he could. All of my interactions with the staff of the hotel made this night very special. Thank you.

The hotel is on the lake and we did see people taking a swim in the lake direct from the hotel forefront. However there is a lovely pool with slightly cushioned lining with was very comfortable to walk on and swim in. Lovely attentive staff and sipping an aperol spritz what watch the lake and mountains was a delight.

Stayed here for 3 nights a few days ago (june) Ok arrival at the hotel, we were able to check in at 1pm as the room was ready. On check in, we realised that we had left our passports and a quite expensive watch in the previous accommodation which was in idro and around 1hr 20 minutes away. The staff contacted the previous accommodations staff and arranged for all the items to be delivered by DHL the following day. Above and beyond service. Luckily we had stayed here the previous year so they still had our passport details from that trip . All staff are amazing and the hotel is the best I’ve ever stayed in. Thanks so much to you all.

Very nice location with great views with a nice well arranged garden for breakfast or drinks. Near the ferry to the Island. Very nice silent room with a good standard of everything including the bath room.

Just checked in. No parking available on site. 10 minute walk away in public car park. Lack of communication is the issue. No details available for room upgrade or parking reservation. Try somewhere else. They don’t seem to care. If it gets any better I will update accordingly.

This welcoming hotel is located overlooking Lake Iseo and offers lovely views across the lake from bedrooms and dining areas. Our room was spotlessly clean, well equipped and had plenty of space - an excellent shower always helps! Breakfast was excellent with a great choice and real English tea available. Throughout the hotel service was excellent, and dinner offered top quality food and wine. Every member of staff was helpful and welcoming and I am especially grateful to Tanya who resolved some questions for me pre arrival. During our stay, weather was mixed, with heavy rain at times, but there are small towns dotted around the lake well worth a visit. A really enjoyable stay - thanks to all. One warning for older folk- the walk up into Sulzano is steep - sto take care!

Rooms nice. Pool drinks aren’t great. Hotel is a bit pretentious but nothing special. Also seems a little bit unorganized.

Stayed here as part of an InnTravel walking holiday. Lovely small ‘shabby chic’ hotel. On the lake with ideal heated pool and decking area. Rooms a little generic but clean and had a comfortable bed. If we returned we would get a room with a better view. ||Restaurant at the hotel independent of the hotel. Food nice enough but service haphazard. Hotel run breakfast however excellent. ||Very limited alternative eateries in Sulzano itself - however ferry to the island runs every 15 mins until midnight’ish (c£10 return trip for 2) where there are plenty of restaurants.
