I have been to Benidorm over 20 times and was my second stay at this hotel and it really has gone downhill since last time, NO entertainment in the terrace or the Music Lounge downstairs for whole of July/August, after speaking to Jet2 rep we got a voucher for 2 drinks to start, but when we asked again a voucher for the Spa at the Ambassador. We went to the bar to get 2 drinks using the voucher , 1 vodka and coke and a coffee, according to the barmaid was 3 drinks as they have no draft soft drinks only bottles...after messing around the barman agreed it was only 2 but it took him some time to convince the barmaid of this. |Your room card not only unlocks your door but supposedly gives you 25% discount at bars and at sister hotels and bars owned by the group, but you could not use at Riviera Beach terrace bar, only music lounge which was closed, you could not use at the Explorers Bar or out by the pool at Ambassador Hotel only inside bar which was also closed, You are meant to be able to used at Morgans Tavern or Western Bar but did not venture in there,|This is meant to be an adults only hotel but they played far too much dance/club type music young kids would like at the terrace bar which I was told does not belong to the hotel but is a franchise, as my partner does not drink alcohol we were also disappointed they do not serve coffee after 9pm. On another occasion after ordering a coffee we went to pay the 1.80 with a 1 Euro coin, 2x 20 cents and 3x5 cents and 5x1 cents we were told they did not accept 5 cents or 1 cent coins and we should only use them at the shops by a rather grumpy barman. We actually thought he was joking to start but he left the 5's and 1's and took the rest|On another occasion they actually had some decent music on in the terrace bar and they suddenly put it off and put Formula One on the large screen Tv, when another resident went up to ask if the volume could be turned down a bit they wouldn't do it, and said some people who were not staying at the hotel had asked for the volume on tv to be on instead of the music and they had obliged, it was only 3 people watching it, most days it had horse racing on the screen and seemed like someone had a bet on and wanted to see results as no one was watching it. | The room was clean but still a few problems, they leave you complimentary tea/coffee to start but if you run out they will only replenish if you pay 5 Euros per week and they will leave enough for 2 drinks a day, its like they are trying to cash in any way they can and seemed very mean for a 4 star Hotel, we were on the side of the hotel next to the Rosemar and by god the music was loud out by their pool all day and up until 12 midnight when it went off especially when the Aqua Aerobics was on it was like being in a nightclub even with the door closed, we were on floor 5 and you could hear kids screaming and shouting all day so if you like sitting on your balcony reading or relaxing it was impossible.|I cannot fault the food or restaurant staff, you could always find a table and the staff were very helpful| I don't think I would go back to Riviera Beach which is a shame as I used to think it was one of the better hotels in Benidorm but was left very disappointed
