We stayed for only 2 nights here, and we are so glad we did. Simply put- it's stunning! El on reception was wonderful. Very accommodating and extremely friendly. ||Our room, and the entire place was spotless. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. ||The pool and jacuzzi were immaculate, and the outside restaurant was in a beautiful spot. ||The best thing for me was the nature. I've never seen so many birds! Within half an hour of sitting on our terrace, I saw at least 15 different species- including hummingbirds. There were loads!!!!||The area is full of activities to do and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. ||I highly recommend staying here!||Thank you for making our honeymoon special!

The photos of the hotel grounds don't do it justice. It's so beautiful and tranquil. I loved sitting in the rocking chairs and watching the birds and butterflies right outside the room. For any light sleepers, please note that there is noise from the main road and the hotel has roosters that are noisy in the morning. Also, the walls are pretty thin so if you have loud neighbors you will be able to hear them. Just bring ear plugs or something for white noise. This helped me tremendoulsy and I was able to sleep like a baby. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Roca Negra and would stay again!

Our family stayed one night in late December. By far, the best place we’ve stayed at during our entire 14 day holiday in Costa Rica. Beautiful, clean rooms at. Reasonable price with the breakfast included. The setting is just beautiful with gardens everywhere, a beautiful game area and pool. From our villa door, we could see the Arenal Volcano. Elizabeth was great at checking us in and welcoming us! Muchisimas gracias Elizabeth!

Really nice small hotel just outside the centre of Arena on the road ot the National Park.| The rooms are all bungalow type and they all have a terrace outside with a couple of recliner type chairs. We had a magnificent view of the volcano which it looked like all the rooms had. The room is not huge but is a decent size and had AC and a fridge. |The hotel has a relaxed feel to it. There is an area with a kettle and tea etc where you an make yourself a brew. There is also a small pool and a games area.|Breakfast comes at an extra reasonable cost and is cooked to order. |The grounds are very nice. We went on daily sloth hunts as there was a sloth in the trees when we were there. We saw loads of amazing birds as we sat on our little balcony

We stayed here for two nights. The best part of this hotel is the location and the warm at home service . I'm giving it a four star because they only take cash and that too only usd and if you're paying in colones then they convert the USD to colones. So if you're coming from non American countries then hard luck. My my favorite part about this place was how aesthetic everything is at night, especially the game area and the sitting areas by the pool. The attention to detail is amazing. The breakfast area is very nice in the morning and the coffee is really good. The rooms are okay, not the biggest but they have air conditioning that works and the washrooms are clean and clean the rooms very well everyday. The swimming pool area is extremely nice and so is the jacuzzi My biggest complaint about this is the Wi-Fi. The wifi is garbage is rooms and Wi-Fi is good in games area.

I absolutely fell in love with this hotel! The location is perfect, the hotel is so charming! I loved everything about it, the people welcoming you, the room, the pool area, the private and cosy space, the little path with the beautiful plants, trees and flowers! The bathroom is super clean and huge! |I would return with pleasure! Thank you !

Loved the hotel and the rooms. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of birds and plants. Service was great also. It is central and close to supermarkets and gift shops. Breakfast was great, it cost a little extra but worth it.

This bungalow lodging had everything we needed to be able to enjoy La Fortuna and the local sights! The host Elizabeth was enthusiastic and helpful in every way. The room was clean, basic and comfortable, with good AC, much appreciated! The best feature was the covered porch with 2 large comfy chairs and a gorgeous private hammock, directly facing the Arenal Volcano. We could sit right outside our own door at night surrounded by the magnificent gardens, and we could hang out completely dry and safe during rains and thunderstorm. What a leisurely treat. The pool and hot tub were sweet, with a lounge area plus covered games outdoor "room" complete with ping pong, billiards, hockey and sand shuffleboard. Friendly dogs, cats and chickens wandered the grounds, and you could choose a $7/person on-site breakfast right by the pool if you like. It was a great value and felt safe and friendly. The drive to town center was under 5 minutes. The only minor adjustment I would have liked is improved indoor room lighting - the choice was between an ultra-bright overhead (not relaxing) or an ultra-dim table lamp that you could not read by.
