Hotel ROJA | Boutique Hotel ROJA

We stayed there for one week in Superior room. This room has also separate entrance and terrace for nice evening or morning cup of coffee. Very close to beach, city centre. Excellent service, very good breakfast and excellent restaurant just few steps across small passage to have dinner. No fridge in the room, but you can get ice for you wine or wine bottle cooled from restaurant (the same owner). My husband caught fish in the local river and it was cooked and served for him at the restaurant.

I visited this restaurant with my friends. Very impressed with the decor, seating and the whole set up. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. She was very happy to help and explain the dishes. We ordered Pork Roast in beer sauce and pickled cucumber served with potatoes, Pan fried ork medallions with season vegetables, sour cream sauce and fries and Chicken slices in sour cream - garlic sauce. The food presentation, quality and quantity was very good. The restaurant also has well stocked bar. We had Kvass and Local beer. This was followed by a good selection of desserts Cottage cheese tower served in strawberry sauce, Home made Black currant ice-cream served in vanilla sauce and the local favourite Rye bread dessert with dried fruit with whipped cream. Boy they were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely recommend and visit again.

The positive thing is the proximity of the beach: few hundred meters away. Also the staff at the restaurant is nice and friendly||Extra hard and small beds and room, couldn`t sleep till the last guest went to sleep, because of the noise, no shield on the window for the insects: we had spiders and mosquitoes in our room, jammed door. The room is very dark. The reservation was not correct: we asked for double bed OR 2 singles put together. When arrived were given room with 3 single tiny beds without any comment; not great for someone who is quite tall. Receptionist said that previous couple who arrived had the same request and they are out of double rooms now and rooms with 2 single beds to be put together. They wrote me that I had to contact the other building if I wanted a double bed, which I didn`t do since in my request was another option: 2 single beds put together. Isn`t it the reception/ hotel who has to accomodate the guest, but the guest has to waist time calling around, when I have a confirmed reservation? If we wanted, we could move the beds together, but we have to put them back before leaving. I have to say again: is it really the guest who has to do this if you as a hotel can`t accomodate the request? :( And one of the covers had dirt (tomatoe leftovers) on it. We didn`t have a good night sleep after a long journey and were happy to leave

We visited the restaurant for dinner. The waitress was very kind and approachable. The wait for the food was very short (there weren't too many people there, but still much appreciated). We had fish mains, onion soup and kvass. Latvian members of our party said the soup and drinks tasted just as they traditionally should. The mains were incredibly delicious! I particularly recommend the sea bass. They were also all under 9 euros. Our kid's meal was nice and classic, on the safe side. If I have a chance to visit Roja again, i'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

We stayed there for one night, chose a summer cottage and it was perfect,no neighbors, peace, the sea just a short walk away (~200 m) and perfect breakfast(afterwards you can barely move because of your full belly) that was included in the room price. The staff was friendly and helpful. If we visit Roja again, we will choose to stay there again!||Thank you for this wonderful experience!

The location seemed nice so we stopped there for lunch.||The waitress refused to let us one menu after we choose "I need them" despite a pile of menu on the counter. It looks to us as laziness since she threw them to freshly arrived clients.||Food is mainly assembly rather than cooked (at the exception of the catch of the day).||Beware their home made French fries are actually frozen French fries. ||It is largely overpriced for the food we got in the plate, even taking in account the location.|||

Place is very nice, beach 5 stars, breakfast 5 stars, but room where i live is most expensive, and service is terrible, 2 days nobody clean my room, shower stop working after 3 days, owner of the hotel didn't change the room for me, didn't offer a discount, and even didn't say apologies for the discomfort what we have. If you like to get good servise for what you paid for, you should find the over hotel.

Perfect location for sandy beach and visiting area. However, hotel service is unwelcoming and poor. The breakfast and meals taken at the adjoining restaurant are frankly unappetising and on our 4th night we were totally ignored. There are few places to eat in Roja, which is a shame. Luckily the local supermarkets open until late. Tip: try the restaurant at the neighbouring hotel instead. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the meal and service compared to the Roja.
